Hi ladies. Hoping you're all keeping well, just wondered if during your tww your clinics put you on progesterone and oestrogen supplements as with last failed cycle my clinic said one of the things to improve implantation chances was to administer both. Hoping that may help if you're not being given this xx

Hoping
I’m on progesterone and oestrogen- apparently until 12/13 weeks.
I do not feel pregnant at all. Which worries me a bit. Don’t get a scan until the 30th.

@Pleaseletitbeme that's interesting to know, I hope my clinic do the same as well as I'm a little conscious when I saw them yesterday they said they just refer to my local hospital at 8 weeks so I'm concerned all other meds will stop xx

Twiglet2353 · 20/08/2019 20:00

@Hopingforbabyd they stop the meds after your 8 week viability scan at our clinic chicken x

@Twiglet2353 oh bugger. I remember you saying you had a little scare after this, did they put you on anything afterwards? I have read your body starts to produce these hormones at 8 weeks I think I'm just a little nervous for my body to go it alone. Can't wait to rid of these bloomin pessaries and patches tho...my legs look so dirty from the sticky patch 😂🙈

@Hopingforbabyd yeah I had a bleed and a subchorionic haematoma so I was recommenced in progesterone at my request by the gynae consultant. The ivf unit had discharged me and that was the worst thing as I had to go via A&E to get seen.
The say the evidence doesn't support continuing it though so I was probably just one of the unfortunate ones so don't let it panic you xxx

Hi All,

I couldn't seem to track our new thread down- thanks @AliceAbsolum for tagging me but for some reason I missed the update :(

@Hopingforbabyd I'm super excited for you, this is just brilliant news!!!!

Quick update I started my short antagonist protocol with Lister on Sunday so lets see how this round goes, I'm on 450iu of Menopur a day EEK! along with two tablets of Letrozole.

Fingers crossed these guys can help me out- I'm not even thinking about this round... just trying to be as normal as possible.

Phree I’m so glad you are back on track.

I feel really weird,
I’ve got almost constant low level cramping.
No bleeding.
But I don’t feel pregnant at all,
First scan is in 9 days time.
I’m dreading it.

Hopingforbabyd · 22/08/2019 00:08

@Pleaseletitbeme it really is such a worrying time but I'm sure all will be okay for you lovely. I have lots of cramping and I know it's very early but clinic did warn me to expect this until scan day as it's your uterus and hips stretching. As long as no spotting. Sending lots of positive vibes to you x

@phreedam thanks so much lovely! 🥰 so happy to hear your positive news and that you have a plan moving forward!! Come on gal!! X

@phreedam ps. This is just what I did this time round and it was such a good move, though the results then were very surprising but it was so nice just to feel like life was normal and ivf wasn't the reason I got up, it was because I had shiz to do in between! Good feelings for you this time round 😍 x

@phreedam good luck with your cycle! Is the idea behind Letrozole to boost numbers? My clinic have me on DHEA ahead of my next cycle (due to low AMH) to see if that helps but interested to see what approaches other clinics take xx

Hi @Hopingforbabyd congratulations on your wonderful news! I hope you don’t mind me asking but I was wondering what they did different with you this time round as if I remember correctly I was very similar to you - not great response to stims, nothing to freeze and period coming before official test day even though I was on progesterone! We are going again in October but I don’t have a lot of confidence in my consultant! She’s a bit all over the place so I would love to know what your protocol was and the amendments they made so I have an idea of a proactive response!

Hi @AnnaSteen so lovely to hear from you! Thank you so much! I can't quite believe it but I think it's starting to sink in a little now. You're right, we did have very similar reactions to last protocols. Would love to share, I hope this might help. I started on norethisterone on day 21 of my cycle to time my period and "strip" my lining. This time round they upped my stim dose from 2 ampoules of meriofert to 3 ampoules so I was on 225 iu. I was stimming like this for 10 days along with Freymadel from day 6 through to egg collection and then they reduced back down to 150 iu (2 ampoules) for the final 4 days. They triggered me with 0.5ml of buserelin (last time I triggered with gonasi which has hcg) egg quality and quantity was better and follicles were mostly 22mm as last time 18mm was the biggest. On egg retrieval I was given 2500 iu of gonasi and from that day I have been wearing patches of evorel (oestrogen) and 3 x pessaries on an evening. We had 10 eggs all fertilised 6 made it to embryo and 4 to blastocyst. Had a grade 5BA put back on day 5 and 1x 2BA 1 x 3BA frozen. The meds definitely helped with the quality as last time we had a borderline poor 5CC and no others to freeze from the 11 eggs collected.
Hope this helps, are you self funding this time? Xx

AnnaSteen · 22/08/2019 14:43

@Hopingforbabyd thanks so much for all the detail!! Yes self-funding all our cycles as I’m in Ireland so we don’t get anything from the health service! Just checked my prescription and I’m also being put up to 225iu and doing the down regulation from day 21. Pessaries wise I’ve been moved to x3 doses by mouth so that’s a bit different! I’ll ask about the estrogen patches as that hasn’t been mentioned!!! Thanks so much for your reply. Really wishing for you to have an wonderful pregnancy! Good luck with it all!!! Smile

Sounds like a move on the right path @AnnaSteen yes the patches help to keep the lining nice and thick. I told my consultant last time my biggest concern was getting af before test day and he said he'd change it. I do believe that has played a huge part in aiding implantation. This whole cycle felt so different, very intense with the upped meds but just go with it lovely as it'll hopefully get you where you need to be xx

My resting heart rate having risen steadily is now dropping away. I don’t feel at all pregnant. The abdominal cramps although low level are fairly constant...
Looks like these two have failed to stick.
So that will be us out for the rest of this year. I can’t face doing another round this year. I just don’t have the strength.

@Pleaseletitbeme oh lovely I know words cannot help at this time as it is the unknown and you have been through this before but just want you to know I am thinking of you. @Twiglet2353 mentioned she doesn't feel pregnant at all and all is okay. But you know your body better than anyone else. Have you POAS lately for a bit of reassurance? Will your scan date be 7/8weeks? X

Hopingforbabyd · 23/08/2019 18:59

@AnnaSteen you WILL get there gal! It'll be so worth the wait, I thought I'd feel so different but all the anxiety is still there just trying to act as normal for now as I'm just waiting for someone to snatch this dream away x
