Hey @Wesstywoo just wondered how you are getting on? Have you started? Got it all crossed for you love x

Hi @WorriedButterfly thanks for checking in xx I have had a couple of scans so far but with natural modified they need your follicles to grow a bit by themselves first before starting stims. They hadn't at the last scan so I'm going back tomorrow to see what's happening. Trying not to get too stressed - I have been fairly laid back on previous cycles but I am feeling the pressure at the moment! Sad how are you doing?

Hello everyone.

I did a H pylori home test yesterday as been having bad indigestion again since being pregnant last year. It was a 2 line cassette jobby and the faintest of lines came up- shining my torch on it gave me nightmares back to poas, endless sticks. Urgh.

Sorry, should have been clearer. It means I have a bacterial stomach infection.

But in better news DH and I have brought an off grid campervan. We are handing in our notices and going travelling for a year maybe two from Jan 2021. Might do the fets while we are near the clinic. Life is too short! 5 years ttc now. Need to live life. We have 4 years left of them on ice. I'm 35. It's not the end of the world to put it off for longer. He's going to retrain, we are going to swim lots, hike lots, enjoy ourselves and each other. Who knows might do the nomadic thing with a child in the future. This feels right for us Grin

@AliceAbsolum sounds like an amazing plan! I'd love to travel like this in a campervan!

@Wesstywoo how are you doing?

Hey @Hopingforbabyd nice to hear from you, I am still progressing in the right direction, not long now. How are you doing? x

Wish I could type happy things but I can’t.
We had our last round of egg collection a week ago. They didn’t get a single egg. That was round four.
Game over.
Considering DE but right now I’m
In too bad a place emotionally to even contemplate anything else.

@Hopingforbabyd nice to hear from you. And things are going well.

@Pleaseletitbeme I'm so sorry to hear that. Take your time and be gentle to yourself. I've been through DE process and almost 26 weeks pregnant. Had my 3D scan yesterday and saw my little boy for the first time. I was just relieved that we've made it so far after so many losses of last year. I'm here if you want to ask about DE process and there's a huge DE community on Instagram and I'm part of them

@WorriedButterfly rooting for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Pleaseletitbeme so sorry for your bad news.. it's so heartbreaking. Hopefully you'll come up with a plan for the next step when you're ready.

I'm good, having a little boy as well, 31 weeks at the moment. I feel grateful every day we are on the other side. When it happens it does feel like all was worth it.

@Russkispy glad you are doing well! We are struggling with names, wanted something that would sound okay in both Russian and English but it's hard!

Report
Russkispy · 31/07/2020 06:58

@Viletta we called our daughter Sasha. Not Alexandra. Just Sasha. Indicates she's Russian and it's also easy in English. My husband is Irish and our boy will have an Irish name which we've already chosen. But I know what you mean! My friend has a boy and they keep calling him Misha/Michael Smile

Report
Viletta · 31/07/2020 09:06

@Russkispy I like Sasha as both girl or boy name, also Alexander but not Alex. I think this is probably going to be our second name. There are options like Nick, Dennis, Anton, Phil, Mark, that could work. I like how Misha sounds in English but not Russian 😂 Girls' names would have been easier, Emma, Sophia, Sonia, Ana, Zoe, all works. I think we'll have an English first name but something that is easily pronounced in Russian, so not Keith! Is your daughter bilingual? Sorry if I asked before. I'm reading on how to raise bilingual kids with one parent one language method.

Report
Russkispy · 31/07/2020 10:14

@Viletta these are all lovely names! And easily pronounced in both languages.

I only speak Russian with my daughter and she repeats the words but mainly she speaks English. And yet she understands both languages. But it's hard for me to speak Russian all the time as I've been living in the UK over 26 years now.

We have a Russian school here so I'll take her when she's 5 or so.

Viletta · 31/07/2020 12:47

@Russkispy it is hard work isn't it. Russian school is a great option, wish we had one in town. I think languages is a brilliant skill though. I was forced to learn French and English from a very young age and as much as I hated it then, I appreciate it so much later on in life.

had my growth scan yesterday at 27w5d. Thankfully everything is well. Baby had grown nicely. Got a couple of images as DH wasn't allowed in due to COVID restrictions. Onto the next growth scan at 32 weeks 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi ladies.
I probably think about our frozen (de) embryos most days. But I also think about our 2 year nomadic adventure coming up and feel this is the right thing to do. SO excited to be going travelling and living the vanlife for a while.
What's weird is due to brexit and the Shenguen visa requirements we will need to get out of the EU zone, and Cyprus is the perfect choice. And the only car ferry is from Turkey into the North of the island, so we are actually going to be driving past the clinic. Weird right.

I think having 4 good quality frosties and a previous pregnancy means the chance of getting our baby in a few years is decently high. I'll be 37 when we try again probably, which these days is not old at all, and I'm hoping we will look back and be pleased that we had this adventurous time together (dh is also retraining out of a job he hates so that's massive for him), before we finally settled into being parents. It'll be 8 years ish of ttc which is insane, but other people do more than that.

Honestly the thought of going back to being pregnant after the miscarriage we had in Dec makes me want to scream. 5 years of ttc - we need a serious break.

Sorry for the delay, past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. We had a little boy on 20/08. I feel beyond lucky and so fortunate. I still check in on various IVF threads, hopefully offering support but also to see how people are doing. I wish you all so much luck in the future. Alice your trip sounds fantastic - keep us updated with where you've got to (if you can). x

@WorriedButterfly Congratulations 😁😁

@Hopingforbabyd I'm good. Quit my job, packing up our stuff, getting ready to rent the house out. Vans coming along great. I never thought I'd say this - but I'm OK with where I am right now. My 4 frosties are very precious and give me hope for the future. But right now DH and I are going to live off grid, travelling and seeing what kind of life we want for ourselves. And that's pretty cool.
Tbf all the pictures of stressed out mums waving the kids back to school kind of helps.

Because it's not the holy grail is it? If it was then most people with children would be happy and relaxed all the time.
Our cat was mildly ill for a few days last week and DH and I were ott anxious 😅 Not sure I'm ready to times that feeling by 1000 again.
