Hi peeps :)

I’ll hyperlink this to our old thread so we can continue bitching about crystal82 😂

I can’t believe we’ve almost got to 1000 posts. I didn’t even know that was a thing - thank you @kittykatsmile because I had no idea it would just max out and I can NOT go on without you all. That’s not even an option.

@Ginandtonic31 I'm not sure, I guess it can't harm. My clinic didn't give any specific nutrition advice as they said I could tell I was healthy. Saying that I've been increasing my protein over the past few months for fitness. I said to my husband today that the reason our clinic have been positive so far must be because I have had lots of protein which has haf an impact on my eggs. He said..."yes, and you have also been wearing knickers everyday so it could be that too!" Grin

@BellaD85 I'm so glad the bleeding is slowing for you, I think it's a really good sign :) only 6 more days to go! Yes, relax tomorrow. I have got into a book called "Nine Perfect Strangers" which has kept me occupied. Yes the clinic called this morning and were positive about things. They said they would call me tomorrow with recommendations to either transfer tomorrow afternoon or a 5dt on Monday.

@KittyKatSmile yes to the blog, we are definitely amongst the best! You are hilarious with the 6 chickens a day!!

Ginandtonic31 · 27/06/2019 20:15

I did think we are the best group on here 😂 maybe we should start a private Facebook group or something 😂

@Zest11 I read that earlier this year. What do you think of it? I wasn't keen. I'm reading one called Prison Doctor. A bit like This is Going to Hurt but from a prison.

@Cauliflower82 I'm so glad you're alive!! Just think if you had never posted again...we would have never known!!!

BellaD85 · 27/06/2019 20:44

@Ginandtonic31 That’s brilliant! I sometimes buy alcohol free Prosecco from Tesco it’s lovely!! Apparently there are flavours you can get from Sainsbury’s too that make you feel like you are drinking! I’ve gone from drinking a glass or two a night to absolutely nothing over the last 3 months...I know all the best fakes haha!!

@Zest11 that’s fabulous news on your update Smile Hooefully tomorrow you will know more yay! Don’t forget the Vagazzle for ET tee-her!! Yes I’m feeling positive now, 6 more days!! I’ll probably wake up at 4am to do it!!!

Ginandtonic31 · 27/06/2019 21:06

@BellaD85 ooo really?! I may go and get the prosecco for this Friday night! Does it still feel nice to drink because sometimes I think there's something about having actual alcohol. Does it taste like prosecco?

KittyKatSmile · 27/06/2019 21:19

Oh my goodness. So.

Protein. I was told to have (consults dorky notebook) 70-80g of protein a day where a serving of chicken or fish is 25g. Or maybe to work up to that; my note taking isn't great. So supplement with protein powder (which made spew into the sink a few times, notably after being out drinking!) of 15g in down reg and 30g in stims. Now that I look at my notebook I see that it says to do it in 2 portions. I didn't do that Grin
So that was the most boring update ever.

Onto: book club. I think I've read the Nine Perfect Strangers one; is it the one at the health farm? Also didn't like it (sorry!) but love all of her other stuff. I'm reading Normal People by Sally Rooney at the moment and loving it.

Alcohol free booze: I am liking the beer, my fave so far is the one in blue cans in Waitrose but the peroni is also pretty good. The last wine I tried was terrible but am willing to have another try.

And finally: private Facebook group! I mean 'yes!' but I feel so scared about us all knowing who we really are! Especially because I'm obviously really Keith Grin

Zest11 · 27/06/2019 21:20

@Ginandtonic31 That's a great idea! Keith/@KittyKatSmile had better get making a fake facebook account with fake friends to carry on with his tricks. If his/her profile picture is a pic of Arabella and a baby bump, we'll know it's a fake! Ooh, is the book good? I kept meaning to read This is going to hurt but never got round to it. 9PS is keeping me occupied and easy to read which I need right now although I am about a third of the way through or and I just feel like I'm still waiting for something to happen.

@BellaD85 Glad you are feeling more positive, I guess it wouldn't be too bad if you gave in a couple of days early! Is Weds your OTD? Haha about the vajazzle!! Thank you for the alcohol free Prosecco idea, I had never thought to try that but will.

Ginandtonic31 · 27/06/2019 21:24

So I've text my mum to tell her about the prosecco and she said she's getting me some alcohol free gin for Friday!! My day is made!

@KittyKatSmile yes it's that health farm one. I wasn't keen but I do like the author!

Yeah maybe people won't want Facebook as it puts them. What about a WhatsApp group maybe? Could chat all day long then 😂

AliciaWhiskers · 27/06/2019 21:44

@KittyKatSmile love the thought of your little notebook. (Says she who has a file full of information, ahem). Do you know why they said to increase your protein?

@Zest11 definitely recommend This Is Going To Hurt. Although (spoiler alert) he does work on an obstetric ward. I read it in holiday in May and sobbed on my sunbed. I guess it’s a bit like watching One Born Every Minute, which I used to do when pregnant with my other DC. A lump in my throat the whole time. I don’t think I’ve seen a single episode of that programme when I didn’t cry. Out of relief most of the time!

I feel sooooo far behind all of you! I’ve got my second scan tomorrow. My first was on Wednesday and I felt a bit disappointed after as had 4 follicles on the left and pretty much nothing on the right. No idea what tomorrow will bring. Trying to stay positive, but my partner is away at the moment (throughout the whole 4 weeks of IVF - terrible timing!) and I feel a bit alone with it all as nobody IRL knows.

Good job I’ve got you ladies (and Keith)!

RRoonilWazlib · 27/06/2019 22:04

@KittyKatSmile AMAZING!!

@Zest11i have found the front ok. I've been laying down for a few minutes afterwards and not had much mess. Going to carry on that way until I have a reason not to and then will turn to the Back Door Girls Club xxx

Mrbay · 27/06/2019 22:14

Oh @ginandtonic31 - a Facebook group sounds good!

Thank you all for the well wishes, @welshpugmomma you are so right.

As I have nothing to add in terms of IVF updates here's a pic on my Little pupper who I'm missing having sofa cuddles with.

AliciaWhiskers · 27/06/2019 22:40

Awwww @Mrbay, what a cutie. So sorry for your loss :(

Cauliflower82 · 28/06/2019 06:02

I survived the night too - I’m alive! Alive I tell you! I was a bit high yesterday afternoon and the just fell asleep and woke up really early. I’m starting to feel very nervous about the update. I had coke last night, pizza, chocolate, tonnes of chocolate and went a bit mental.
I’m now just going to read through everyone’s updates and see what’s going on.
Oh btw back door girl all the way here... it felt so weird and not in an entirely unpleasant way 😂 😂

Cauliflower82 · 28/06/2019 06:12

@KittyKatSmile omg that’s the best news ever!! Congratulations. How amazing!! I’m so, so, so, so, SO happy for you, you trooper. LOVE the idea of having our own blog. The nurse asked me yesterday about the ‘dreaded forums’ and I told her how absolutely mint ours was. We don’t dwell on numbers; we take the piss out of each other and we celebrate every high whilst always reassuring and supporting those going through a more difficult time.

@mouse1234567 I think you’re doing the right thing - look after yourself incredibly well and take some time completely away from work. Do you go to a counsellor at all?

@BellaD85 I didn’t feel like a sea creature 😂 but I did keep asking everyone what their favourite pizza was and ‘could we take the to talk about pizza and really get to know each other’. I felt pretty aware of what I was saying too but just did not care.

KittyKatSmile · 28/06/2019 06:13

@Cauliflower82 yes to the Back Door Girls. You can be the lead singer with an attitude like that! That's pretty much my experience of it but I didn't want the ladies to think Keith was strange for weirdly almost relishing popping things up his bum Grin

Hope the phone call goes well today lovely one x

Cauliflower82 · 28/06/2019 06:18

@AliciaWhiskers best of luck for tomorrow :)

@zest11 I hope you’re update went well yesterday :). I fear I’ve missed it and I’m going to have another good look through.

Ooh I don’t do Facebook, that may need to change now. I have Instagram? But I don’t know it it’s the best for this kind of thing. Can we message each other privately on this and we could get something set up? I’m all excited!!

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 28/06/2019 07:25

@Cauliflower82 maybe we could do a WhatsApp group? Happy to set one up and add everyone from a private message. Then I guess the chat could just carry on. Or would that be too weird? Better on here?

Jackieadam1980 · 28/06/2019 07:46

What’s with the protein? I never done that when I have had previous ivf? Is it suppose to help after transfer??

KittyKatSmile · 28/06/2019 08:02

Personally I think chat is better on here so that you actually have to go into the app (and can avoid if feeling delicate). Guess we're doing ok on here for the time being?

@Jackieadam1980 Protein is meant to help with egg quality.

Ginandtonic31 · 28/06/2019 08:10

@KittyKatSmile I only asked as really I should delete the app and stop coming on here (I hate mumsnet and it sends me into a spiral) but I just keep telling big to come here rather than anywhere else.

Should I actually feel anything happening after a transfer?!

Zest11 · 28/06/2019 08:44

@Mrbay aww your doggy looks adorable. Flowers Flowers Flowers

@Cauliflower82 I LOVE your positivity. I love your pizza chat too haha. It's so funny how the drugs completely make us lose our inhibitions! What have you got planned for today? Omg the talk of chocolate and everything...I'm going to do the same! I want it all!!

@Ginandtonic31 and @KittyKatSmile I LOVE the idea of continuing our chat, it is definitely what I need. I also like the idea of a WhatsApp group (all my 'mum' friends have that going on and I feel like I'm missing out). However Keith does have a good point that when we feel low, we can just ignore the board. Not sure how I would feel with my phone beeping with updates. I reckon stay here for now and see what happens :)

Just had the next call from my clinic and they are happy with things. Transfer is planned for Monday afternoon. I am so going to make the most of these next 3 days of not being in control and try not to think about things.

KittyKatSmile · 28/06/2019 09:02

@Ginandtonic31 I think the only thing you should feel is excitement and positivity. I felt absolutely nothing so I hope that helps.

@Zest11 yassssss! Such a good update! Brilliant. I would recommend having a glass of wine or two and feeling chilled and excited. I had a drink every day between EC and ET (it's recommended on BFN podcast. @Cauliflower82 can back me up)

Welshpugmomma · 28/06/2019 09:18

@Zest11 that's brilliant news!
@KittyKatSmile totally feel like I've been missing out haha I've had zero since starting minus DH leaving do which was towards the end of down reg! Ah well not a massive drinker at home anyway which makes it easier (apart from when the mother pours herself a nice crisp glass of pinot g ;)
@Ginandtonic31 I haven't felt anything really, I keep getting a little twinge on my right side like a period pain probably from ec/et. It was an early transfer though so I expect it would take longer... OTD is the 11th July which feels like a lifetime away, when are you going to test?
@cauliflower82 love your pizza chat so funny, yummm I could so eat pizza tonight!
@AliciaWhiskers hope it goes ok today Hun

AliciaWhiskers · 28/06/2019 09:23

Gah. My right ovary is doing precisely nothing. There are fewer follicles in there than when she scanned me on Wednesday. How is that possible?! Also, the nurse who did the scan has left the room to telephone the doctor. What does that mean?!

Ginandtonic31 · 28/06/2019 09:28

@KittyKatSmile and @Welshpugmomma I've felt nothing at all! Not even a twinge. I'm convinced it's given up and just floating around in there. I thought I should feel it cramping a bit!

@Zest11 I was also going to suggest have a drink!!

@Mrbay I'm sorry about your pup 😞 the photo is lovely.

@AliciaWhiskers they might be seeing whether to up your medication?

AliciaWhiskers · 28/06/2019 09:34

@Ginandtonic31 I asked if they would up my meds, but they said no. She said all that would do would accelerate the growth of the bigger ones but the smaller ones wouldn’t catch up
