Hi peeps :)

I’ll hyperlink this to our old thread so we can continue bitching about crystal82 😂

I can’t believe we’ve almost got to 1000 posts. I didn’t even know that was a thing - thank you @kittykatsmile because I had no idea it would just max out and I can NOT go on without you all. That’s not even an option.

I would echo what @mouse1234567 says, partly because of her experience (hope you're doing ok lovely).

If it hadn't been for the fact I wouldn't have a period on progesterone and that I'd have to stop all the drugs, I would have just waited for my period to be late! But that's because I like to put off bad news!

Waiting for the scan is actually pretty tough, although I know this is exacerbated for me given my previous experience. I keep trying to tell myself that there is nothing to say that it will happen again but it's only ever partially successful....

Happy Sunday everyone. Can't believe the sun has gone.

mouse1234567 · 07/07/2019 12:51

@KittyKatSmile hope you are ok-I found that waiting after the pos test so hard! How long till your scan? Next time I really hope I can zone out a bit more and hold our testing. We shall see!!

KittyKatSmile · 07/07/2019 14:18

@mouse1234567 yeah, I'm ok. Scan is at the end of the week after next so still a while. Trying to just not really think about it too much which is of course not massively easy. I'm really tired as well but not sleeping very well at night so trying to rest as much as I can.

Hope you're feeling ok lovely x

AliciaWhiskers · 08/07/2019 07:53

Sorry for lack of replies to anyone. Just me asking another ridiculous question - sorry!

So I’m a member of the back door gang, but this morning I had a poo about 30 minutes after I put in my cyclogest. What do I do?! Do I put in another one, or hope that in the 30 minutes it had been absorbed? It’s ET today so I don’t want to mess it up!

KittyKatSmile · 08/07/2019 08:12

@AliciaWhiskers I think it will have absorbed. If you do it up the front the gunk has come out within that time but the good stuff has absorbed.

Good luck today. Enjoy full bladder time!

KittyKatSmile · 08/07/2019 08:24

And also @AliciaWhiskers, pretty envious of a pooh. I spent my 3am wake up time today eating biscuits and drinking syrup of figs, only to go back to sleep and dream about shitting the bed. Whilst on holiday. Nice. Sadly a dream is all it is Grin

Happy Monday all, now that you are up to date on Keith's bowel habits x

Ginandtonic31 · 08/07/2019 09:12

@AliciaWhiskers I think I read it only takes 20 mins to absorb. I held a poo for 3 hours yesterday in case! Good luck today!

My cold is horrible. I can't concentrate at work, I'm coughing my guts up and can't breath. I also feel like I'm in no-man's land now just waiting for a scan. I'm getting lots of cramping so getting worried. It's sinking in a little bit better now.

Zest11 · 08/07/2019 09:53

Hi everyone.

Sorry for being quiet on here. I tested early although by this point is 99% accurate on a FRER and it's definitely negative. (I actually find it easier knowing than being uncertain).

I am really gutted to be honest. Foolishly a year ago when I saw the "2-3 weeks" on a pregnancy test which didn't go any further I naively thought "at least I can get pregnant" and "IVF should probably work." Everything (other than hiding ovary) went "textbook" with IVF. Just when it came down to stick, it didn't. I'm not sure what to do now to be honest. I'm wondering whether to go and get the nkcells test done at Coventry or just put one of the frozen ones in next month but if I'm also worried about wasting/"murdering" another embryo. I really wish we knew what the issue was. If I got 5 day 5 blasts surely this has been happening naturally before but my body is just rejecting them?

So sorry for the shitty post. But on a positive note I can go to the gym and eat crap! I'm glad I'm back at work as it is keeping me busy.

Welshpugmumma, cauliflower and rroonilwaslib I sincerely hope your outcomes are far more positive than mine this week. And mrbay and Alicia I hope it all goes well for you both too. KittyKat I hope this is your time and your upcoming scan is good. So sorry if I have missed anyone out.

Zest11 · 08/07/2019 09:53

Sorry and ginanatonic and cornishmaid I hope your scans go well too! Xx

Ginandtonic31 · 08/07/2019 10:32

@Zest11 sorry to read your post 😞I read about someone who asked their clinic if they could just pay for the medication hey would be on for natural killer cells anyway without getting tests and they let them and 2 embryos stuck. Is this something you could ask your clinic about?

KittyKatSmile · 08/07/2019 10:36

@Zest11 sorry to read this. How many embryos do you have in the freezer? That would be the driver for me on where to go next. The NK cells are likely to cause you to miscarry rather than to not implant. In your position, if I had a few in the freezer, I'd put another one in once my body had had a chance to recover from EC etc and then take it from there.

So sorry again. Sending lots of love x

KittyKatSmile · 08/07/2019 10:37

@Ginandtonic31 yes, that's a good idea too. Although warning: they will make you really fat and aren't that nice for your body. But may be worth a shot for your peace of mind xx

RRoonilWazlib · 08/07/2019 11:10

@Zest11 there is still time until otd so please dont lose all hope Flowers

Mrbay · 08/07/2019 12:18

Afternoon girls

Good luck for today @AliciaWhiskers

@KittyKatSmile - I was starting to worry that I wasn't aware of the exit habits of Keith's behind.

@Zest11 - don't lose faith just yet, remember you are more likely to have a false negative. When is your OTD?

I'll update you all after my scan this afternoon, however I am already writing this cycle off - thank goodness DH is in the army so we are extremely lucky to have funding for 3 cycles.

Mrbay · 08/07/2019 12:19

oh before I forget, how has your first day back at work gone @Cauliflower82?

Zest11 · 08/07/2019 13:09

You're so kind, thank you for those comments. Ginandtonic and kittykat I didn't think of that. I actually ended up with 4 in the freezer (no idea on quality - I told them not to tell me because I'd Google! ) so I am extremwly lucky in that sense. We can only transfer 1 more on the NHS though. I will definitely ask my clinic to just give me the steroids. Failing that, I will go to my GP after suddenly developing an allergic rash which requires the steroids. Anyone know any creams or anything that will result in a rash? GrinHmm

KittyKatSmile · 08/07/2019 13:58

@Zest11 if it comes down to it I can post you some and then get myself a new prescription. Or actually before trying that you could use one of those apps like Push Doctor and tell them you've taken them before, give them some spiel and they should prescribe them to you. I did that once when I ran out and didn't want to pay £300 for the consultation to get another prescription! I can pm you my backstory if you'd like to borrow that x

Zest11 · 08/07/2019 15:42

Kittykat you are amazing. Thank you. I will see what the clinic say first and hopefully it won't come to that but that's so kind of you to offer to do that and gives me some reassurance! I've never used one of those online pharmacies but I will!

Yes I know what you mean about the consultation cost, it's so much money. Hats off to you for being able to do this alone for a) emotionally and b) financially.

Ginandtonic31 · 08/07/2019 16:26

Druggy Keith now handing stuff out left, right and centre!!

Zest11 · 08/07/2019 16:39

Hahahahahahaha @Ginandtonic31

mouse1234567 · 08/07/2019 16:47

@Zest11 I’m sorry to hear your news. It’s really hard. I’m glad you are back on the exercise and comfort food -there are only little things -but it’s nice to be able to enjoy them. Best of luck with your next cycle -we shall prob be doing it together in a few months.

AliciaWhiskers · 08/07/2019 17:22

@KittyKatSmile thanks for the advice about the cyclogest, and sorry for giving you poo envy. Mine are a bit all or nothing at the moment. I've taken up prune eating...enough said! I might need Keith the dealer to sort me out too...I only have enough cyclogest to last me another 10 days, but my OTD is 11 days away. The clinic I went to today for my ET said they continue their ladies on cyclogest until 12 weeks, but my clinic (I go to one clinic for scans and planning etc and another for the procedures) said not to even take it up to test day! I'm not very happy about it - I'd rather take it until at least test day!

@Ginandtonic31 sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly. Watch the cough doesn't turn into a chest infection if you are finding it difficult to breathe. I'd have a low threshold for going to the GP if it gets any worse.

@Zest11 so sorry to hear your news. I don't know what sort of stats you were given for success, but I guess sometimes IVF just doesn't work, for no particular reason or fault. You are sounding positive with talk of the gym and comfort food. Be gentle on yourself and I'm sure you'll be ready for the next round whenever that happens. Lovely to have some in the freezer :)

@Mrbay how did your scan go today? Has eating more protein made any difference?!

ET was today. I went in with what I thought was a full bladder, and the nurse told me it was completely empty! So I got sent away for an HOUR and drank another 1.5 litres. My bladder was SO UNCOMFORTABLE- even the doctor who did the transfer commented on how full it was. Half the screen was black where my bladder was! Anyway, one little blast on board, and one in the freezer. So delighted with that, as we had such small numbers that I was worried we wouldn't have anything. Now in the 2ww...at the same time as trying to move house! I have been told by DP not to lift anything, so I'm going to be seriously frustrated by the end of this!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

KittyKatSmile · 08/07/2019 17:26

@AliciaWhiskers well done you! Great to have a little one on board. And quite a good excuse for no house lifting I'd say.

Cyclogest is one I'm not great on; had to go and ask my friend to let me have some of her bum drugs at the weekend. But that's definitely one I've got via push doctor before!! Some people's clinics give them all the drugs they need, others just let people go and self monitor, which I in particular am terrible at!

Ginandtonic31 · 08/07/2019 17:31

@AliciaWhiskers I've never had a chest infection before. Should I be worried? Could all the coughing affect things? I've not taken anything other than Strepsils. Just my luck this!

Well done with the transfer! As for pessaries my clinic wants me on them until 12weeks. I run out in a few days so they've done me a prescription top up to collect. Tell your transfer clinic you've run out and need a prescription!

AliciaWhiskers · 08/07/2019 17:36

@KittyKatSmile lol @ bum drugs! But excellent news that you can get them at push doctor! Did you just say you needed them for IVF?

@Ginandtonic31 measure your resting respiratory rate (how many times you breathe per minute). Are you coughing up green phlegm? Do you have a temperature? No, the cough won't affect things. Your little one is all tucked up nice and safe. It's just a PITA for you! I could try the transfer clinic, I might give them a call tomorrow. At least that gives me a couple of options! I really don't want to not even have enough to get to test day!
