IVF / ICSI in April / May

Hi all, I'm starting a thread for anyone expecting to start a new IVF cycle in April or May. I've been keeping an eye out for one, but realised I could just start it myself!

I'm 37 and about to start my second stimming cycle. I've had two FETs from my last cycle, both of which sadly ended in miscarriage, so we'll be PGS testing this batch if we hopefully get some good enough to test and freeze. On higher doses this time around, so a bit worried about side effects. Found it fine last time though (except the interminable waiting).

Anyway, please come and introduce yourself if you're in a similar boat Smile

@Hunter14 good luck with the blood test although you won't need it. How are you feeling? Has the idea sunk in yet?

Hunter14 · 21/05/2019 18:33

@lillyleaf - thanks. It’s not really sunk in yet. I’m still in shock.
I’m feeling ok. Super bloated and had some pain. Also feel so full all the time & peeing loads. Otherwise nothing. What happens after it’s confirmed?
I’m off on holiday next Thursday for two weeks and can’t wait. Then it’s back to the reality of becoming a single parent .... can’t wait...

LillyLeaf · 21/05/2019 20:56

@Hunter14 I think once it's confirmed they will book you in for a scan 6-7weeks (depends on your clinic). Hopefully my progesterone will have increased by Friday. My stomach is so sore from all the shots, each one feels like a massive bruise that last for about 3 days.

JLW14 · 21/05/2019 22:43

Hi guys how is everyone getting on? Had my egg collection yesterday they managed to get 12 eggs embryologist gave me a call today to say that they injected the sperm into ten of them and 8 fertilised!! The rest wasn’t mature enough just waiting for the next call on Thursday she said it will be more than likely Saturday they do the embryo transfer x

LillyLeaf · 22/05/2019 08:40

@JLW14 that's a great result. Fingers crossed for Saturday, hopefully you'll have some to freeze too.

#Hunter14 your holiday will be a great distraction, I'm not sure I'll cope waiting a few weeks for a scan, I need to plan something to keep my mind off this.

Hunter14 · 22/05/2019 09:12

@lillyleaf - heading for bloods now. Busy day in the office so I won’t be staring at my phone. Can’t wait for my holiday. Hope you are feeling ok.

@JLW14 - great result 😊. Fingers crossed for transfer soon.

orangefolly · 22/05/2019 12:00

Sadly it looks like our little embryo has given up the ghost. It got to blasto but then collapsed and hasn't re-expanded Sad

Congratulations to everyone with positive results - I really am delighted for you. Hope the bloods go well @Hunter14

@orangefolly I'm so sorry. Look after yourself. It's so hard to go through all this and not get the result you wanted.

Hunter14 · 22/05/2019 13:30

@orangefolly - so sorry Hun. Look after yourself!

@lillyleaf - well my suspense continues... my beta was 47 which is not that good so I need to test again on Friday. Now I’m freaking out a bit. More waiting & nerves...

JLW14 · 22/05/2019 13:41

Just waiting for the call tomorrow I hope we don’t loose many and hopefully our embryo sticks when they transfer it!

LillyLeaf · 22/05/2019 14:39

@Hunter14 so sorry you have to wait even longer. Hopefully we'll both get good blood results on Friday and can relax for 5 mins.

JLW14 · 22/05/2019 20:37

LillyLeaf what are your blood tests for?

LillyLeaf · 22/05/2019 20:47

@JLW14 my progesterone was a bit low so I've increased the dose and hopefully it will be at the right level on Friday.

Hunter14 · 22/05/2019 20:56

@lillyleaf - thanks . Fingers crossed. I’m trying to be positive.

😊

LillyLeaf · 23/05/2019 19:52

I think I'll do another home Pg test tomorrow morning, I have got a niggling thought that it's gone wrong already this time. I'm not much of a tester but something is telling me to test.

How are you all feeling? I feel pretty much normal.

FingersXssd83 · 23/05/2019 20:47

Sorry to hear about your cycle @orangefolly Hope you feel up to doing another soon xx

And congrats to the BFP ladies! I hope you have wonderful and healthy pregnancies Smile

I'm finally back on the IVF train. After doing a freeze all due to suspect endo, a scan today revealed there isn't an endometrioma on my ovary so no need for surgery and I can move onto medicated FETs!

We have 4 x day 3 frosties and I'll be staring in a month. Since EC I've been very naughty with food so going to get back to the gym and healthy eating.

Hope everyone's having a good day xxxx

LillyLeaf · 24/05/2019 07:43

@FingersXssd83 that's so exciting you are starting soon and so great you didn't need the surgery in the end. Good luck.

I did another test this morning, very positive, so today I am pregnant (trying to push those MC anxieties away). @Hunter14 good luck with your blood test today.

Hunter14 · 24/05/2019 15:07

Hi All,
So my results were not good & this looks like chemical pregnancy so told to stop meds & let nature take its course. I’m devastated & need some time to feel it. Appt with doctors 24th June to talk next steps so we will see.

@lillyleaf - hope your bloods were good! Wishing you the very best!

Best of luck all!

LillyLeaf · 24/05/2019 15:18

@Hunter14 I'm so sorry, it's so awful. Look after yourself.

Cocorocky1 · 24/05/2019 18:21

@Hunter14
I’m so sorry please look after yourself x

JLW14 · 26/05/2019 19:50

Hi guys! Just wanting abit of advice when did you get symptoms after embryo transfer?

Cocorocky1 · 28/05/2019 07:59

JLW14 had symptoms which I put down to my increased medications, nausea, lethargy etc about seven days later. Boobs had been tender before with the meds also. How are you doing xx
