IVF / ICSI in April / May

Hi all, I'm starting a thread for anyone expecting to start a new IVF cycle in April or May. I've been keeping an eye out for one, but realised I could just start it myself!

I'm 37 and about to start my second stimming cycle. I've had two FETs from my last cycle, both of which sadly ended in miscarriage, so we'll be PGS testing this batch if we hopefully get some good enough to test and freeze. On higher doses this time around, so a bit worried about side effects. Found it fine last time though (except the interminable waiting).

Anyway, please come and introduce yourself if you're in a similar boat Smile

@Microvic Thank u for the info, I am keen due to your results, just a bit cautious with the potential side effects. I may ask the clinic if it is ok. Got my appt on 13th June, so next round will likely start in July. I so want to get started ASAP, but it may b a good thing to calm me down for a bit. Trying to plan lots of nice days out in between. Hope u enjoy the wedding, sure it will b amazing as u will b on such a high from your BFP. 😊 xx

@Hunter14 and @lillyleaf Hope u r both feeling well and getting plenty of rest.

@orangefolly That's a great number, not too much longer and they will be collected.

Hope everyone else is ok.

I slept a lot yesterday after the transfer and a lot last night, I must have really needed it. It's such a strange feeling knowing there is a blastocyst inside me deciding if it will stick around or not. Hope you all have a nice relaxing weekend.

Hunter14 · 11/05/2019 21:05

@lillyleaf - how are you feeling? I’ve been at my cousins baby shower today & trying to take it easy. Had dull cramps from the full bladder I think. Just trying to keep positive but I agree you can’t help but wonder what’s going on with the embie 😳.
Take care & have a good weekend ALL

LillyLeaf · 12/05/2019 08:52

@Hunter14 how was the baby shower? I'm not sure I could handle that right now. I had few dull cramps yesterday I think from the transfer. I'm trying to be as calm as possible and not googling (I did that a lot last time). I think I'll do some gentle gardening today and eat some nice food, perfect Sunday.

Hi All, hope everyone is ok whatever stage you're at Smile

We've just done the first injections for our last iui and they were virtually pain free. I still got myself all worried about them and suppose I always will. Can't help but feel negative about this go and just want to move onto ivf.

Hope you all have a good week x

Viletta · 12/05/2019 18:57

@mumsey2be sorry for late reply, congratulations on your fantastic news!!! So pleased for you xx

LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 07:43

Today is my official test date blood test then wait for a phone call with results. Hope everyone had a good weekend. X

LillyLeaf · 13/05/2019 10:46

@LeanneMFord good luck today, I'm sure it will be fine, it's nice having it confirmed with a blood test.

3dp5dt here. the weekend went pretty fast but I think this week will go very slowly.

LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 10:53

@LillyLeaf thanks. Just sat nervously waiting for the phone call. Are you planning on testing early? X

LillyLeaf · 13/05/2019 11:03

My OTD is next Monday, buy I'll test on Sunday at 9dp5dt, that's what I did last and got a very dark positive so at I know the result will be accurate. At the moment I don't fancy testing early but who knows how I'll feel in a few days. I just feel so different this time, but this is a FET compared to a fresh transfer last time.

LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 11:09

@LillyLeaf same as me this was my first frozen transfer. And I feel very different this time. X

Hunter14 · 13/05/2019 11:11

@leanneMFord good luck today!
@lillyleaf - how are you feeling? I’m doing well. Nothing notable to report so just trying to keep positive & take it easy. Beautiful weather so trying to make the most of it.

Hope you all have a great Monday ....

LillyLeaf · 13/05/2019 12:08

@Hunter14 same, nothing to report, I just feel normal, just a bit tired. I remember last time I had a few twinges and cramps by 4/5dp5dt. I need to make sure I'm getting some early nights and just trying to stay as calm as possible.

orangefolly · 13/05/2019 14:21

Oh good luck @LeanneMFord - really hoping it's good news!

@lillyleaf and @hunter14 how are you feeling?

I'm all set for egg collection Wed morning now, trigger shot tonight. Looks like we have 16 good follicles, which is more than I expected. Hoping that leads to some good eggs and embryos 🤞

LillyLeaf · 13/05/2019 17:15

@orangefolly it was hard concentrating at work today, I've just got to got through this week. Good luck with your trigger, I took the timing very seriously and did it on the very second of the hour they told me.

orangefolly · 13/05/2019 17:35

Thanks @lillyleaf time goes so s l o w when you're waiting doesn't it! Got my fingers crossed for you.

Urgh, so I had a call from my clinic and having looked at my blood they want me back for another scan tomorrow, so looking at Thursday EC instead 😞 Disappointed - I was so ready for Wed!

OP posts:
LillyLeaf · 13/05/2019 18:46

@orangefolly oh that's so annoying, just when you think you're getting somewhere there is another delay. You would think we are used to all this waiting but it just makes me crazy.

LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 18:52

Got fed up of waiting for the phone call so I phoned them myself 🙈 i am now classes as 4 weeks pregnant 7 week scan on the 6th of July. The nurse said my levels are high, they are 1915 🙈. I don't no what to take from that as I had 2 transferred. X

LillyLeaf · 13/05/2019 18:59

@LeanneMFord official congratulations.

LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 19:19

Thanks!! I meant 6th of June 🙈 x

orangefolly · 13/05/2019 22:49

Congratulations @LeanneMFord - wonderful news! How would you feel if it did turn out to be twins??

OP posts:
LeanneMFord · 13/05/2019 22:58

@orangefolly I would obviously be worried as more risks but it's what we prepared ourselves for when we decided to put 2 back in. X

Hunter14 · 14/05/2019 12:47

@orangefolly - today is 4 days post 5 day transfer and so far nothing significant to report. I’ve taken a few days off work and today I’m spending time with my 91yr old Nanna. Good for the mind and soul.

@lillyleaf - how are you feeling?

LillyLeaf · 14/05/2019 18:38

@Hunter14 not too bad, maybe a few progesterone side effects, a little bit of mild cramping, but nothing too obvious. I'm finding bit hard to concentrate during the morning at work and then I seem to mostly forget about it in the afternoon. Let's hope the next few days will hurry past although I hate testing so Sunday will be awful, so anxious.
