IVF / ICSI in April / May

Hi all, I'm starting a thread for anyone expecting to start a new IVF cycle in April or May. I've been keeping an eye out for one, but realised I could just start it myself!

I'm 37 and about to start my second stimming cycle. I've had two FETs from my last cycle, both of which sadly ended in miscarriage, so we'll be PGS testing this batch if we hopefully get some good enough to test and freeze. On higher doses this time around, so a bit worried about side effects. Found it fine last time though (except the interminable waiting).

Anyway, please come and introduce yourself if you're in a similar boat Smile

@LeanneMFord my clinic says 14 days after EC or after you start progesterone for an FET. So my first cycle was 9dp5dt and I got a very dark positive, I'm sure it would have been positive at 7dp also.

I've only posted once so you've probably forgotten me! But I've been reading along and wishing you all success. I'm only at the beginning of an iui cycle so not really on the right thread but...

@MicroVic I'm 33, no children, Ttc 4 years with endo. Had 5 iui's, two of which were cancelled, and we were ready to miss our last free go and move straight onto ivf but iui number 5 worked in December. MC in January so we've decided to try our last free iui just in case.

I'm still on norethisterone and don't start injections until the week after next and I'm not feeling very confident in this cycle.

LeanneMFord · 06/05/2019 08:09

Hi how's everyone doing? X

LillyLeaf · 06/05/2019 08:32

I started progesterone yesterday, the lubion injections bloody hurt for ages after it, my stomach is still sore from the one I did last night. I'm also on x2 Cyclogest pessaries (nice) and patches, seems a lot for a FET. Hope no one has to work today and can relax.

LillyLeaf · 06/05/2019 08:35

@LeanneMFord have you decided when you'll test?

Hunter14 · 06/05/2019 08:54

@lillyleaf - how are you feeling? I’ve started the progesterone- cyclogest 3x 400 & my antibiotics yesterday along with all the other meds...

LillyLeaf · 06/05/2019 09:06

@Hunter14 i only did 1 pessary/ 1 injection yesterday, then it's 2 today with lubion progesterone also, I didn't feel anything yet. I was trying to remember how I felt the first round on progesterone. I remember being randomly emotional and had cramps after transfer but it was a fresh cycle so not sure how it will compare to a this FET. How are you feeling? Any side effects yet?

Todey84 · 06/05/2019 09:14

Well I tested and it is negative. 😔 I will continue to test as it may b too early, but lots of people have a BFP by now, so I am assuming it is reliable. I have been having stomach cramps and spotting the last couple of days and so didn't know whether that was good or bad, obviously the latter for me.

I was never really expecting the 1st cycle to necessarily work (especially when they allowed me to transfer 2 on the 1st go, which was totallyunexpected), but still disappointed, especially as we do not even have any frozen. 👎

Good luck @LeanneMFord and @Microvic, hoping u both have a more positive result than me. xx

How long did everyone have to wait until starting another fresh cycle?

LillyLeaf · 06/05/2019 09:24

@Todey84 so sorry, how many days past transfer are you? I think it depends on your clinic how soon you can start again, are you private or NHS?

Todey84 · 06/05/2019 09:49

@LillyLeaf Now 7dpt. We r private.

MicroVic · 06/05/2019 09:53

@todey84, im so sorry but it might still be too early. Ive looked into how soon you can start second cycle and it seems after your second period but it depends on the clinic.
I started taking dhea supplements about 3 months before our retrieval. They are supposed to increase egg quality not quantity but I just wanted to try everything and since 5 out of our 10 went to grade a it obviously didn't hurt. You have to order from America.

@LeanneMFord when are you testing? My husband wants to weight till Thursday at the clinic but not sure I can

Hunter14 · 06/05/2019 09:55

@lillyleaf - no big side effects yet. Boobs ache a bit and I’m super tired but I have stressful job so not sure if it’s that. I feel very heavy too.
Just want to focus on Friday. Clinic is in London and I live near Warwick so means trains & I have a general so more fun 😊.

@todey84 - so sorry but still holding thumbs for you...

LillyLeaf · 06/05/2019 10:01

@Hunter14 are you taking Lubion progesterone injections? My clinic is in London too but I live here so it's not too bad. It was a bit stressful getting Friday off work, I had to move a lot of meetings with a lot of different people. I had totally forgot about getting sore breasts, they were pretty bad last time.

Todey84 · 06/05/2019 10:21

@Microvic Thank u for the advice, encouraging from your results. I did read 'it starts with the egg' and that mentions DHEA. Have u had any adverse side effects? I may also change from Pregnacare Max to Proceive Max. Anything that helps!

@Hunter14 Thank u and good luck 4 Friday.

orangefolly · 06/05/2019 11:35

Oh no I'm sorry @Todey84 - really gutting. Still hoping for you, but understand it's sometimes better to get yourself used to the idea.

I had a good trip to the clinic this morning (but boo for getting up early on a bank holiday). Got about 13 follicles showing and some of them are quite big already so I'm starting on cetrotide tonight. That's a quicker response than last cycle. Hoping there are some good quality ones in there!

@lillyleaf - I’m on the cyclogest pessaries 😳😊. Messy little things.
I have also had to shift things around a bit. Taking Thursday off too so I can be calm as possible for Friday. Got my cousins baby shower in Preston Sat so won’t be getting much bed rest.

Todey84 · 06/05/2019 12:00

@orangefolly Thank you. Glad u had a great trip to the clinic, sounds like it is going really well. 😊 Defo worth getting up early for.

mikkyr · 06/05/2019 13:34

So Im jumping in here a bit late... Trigger shot tomorrow night, EC on Thursday and hopefully transfer in on Saturday.

Its happened all so quickly that I havent really had time to comprehend what the hell Im doing. Ive been telling my husband that I want a child of my own for so long (he is divorced and 2 of his own) that I didnt actually stop to think that it might actually happen and now I feel so apprehensive...

So just done a test not first wee of the day or anything and I'm only 6 days since my transfer and it's a dark positive. I had 2 transferred so am wondering if they have both stuck for it to be dark this early on and not On a first urine. X

LillyLeaf · 06/05/2019 14:51

Wow @LeanneMFord that's amazing, Congratulations

MicroVic · 06/05/2019 16:28

@LeanneMFord that's fantastic, twins cause early positives so you might be having two, super exciting

mumsey2be · 06/05/2019 20:05

@LeanneMFord how exciting for you - congrats! Gosh that's early as well...

@Todey84 I am sorry to hear the news. It is first bash isn't it? Lets see what the next few days bring - i do remember with my IUI i tested negative at 13 days and positive at 14 so I am so sorry but you got to sit it out.Thinknig of you xx

Todey84 · 06/05/2019 20:18
