Hi all,

Am about to start my Clomid journey and reading through the 2018 Clomid thread this is what I'm looking for. It's extremely difficult to talk about the issues with people who don't actually understand them so if anyone wants to join in the more the merrier!

I'm 30
TTC #1
Cycle #?? Been trying for 5 years
Have mild Prolactinoma
Taking daily 1mg Bromocriptine for tumour
Just been given 3 months of Clomid
Am also slightly overweight but have never ovulated.

Smile

@Pinktruffle thank you so much for replying! Ooo, we will, thank you!! X

Marmite83 · 09/04/2019 17:01

From the reading I've done, you can get ewcm for up to 5 days before you ovulate but I think in reality it's more like 2-3 for most people. Either way it's a good indication that you're about to ovulate and now is a good time to start BDing to give you the best chance to catch that egg. Good luck!

Kelly199 · 09/04/2019 17:50

@Marmite83 thank you! We already have, although, I did an opk and showed negative? Is it because maybe I did it too late in the day and too diluted?

doomkittycleo · 09/04/2019 17:51

@Kelly199 and @Pinktruffle on a non clomid cycle I always get 5-6 days of ewcm. But on clomid I hardly get any at all.

I usually (on non treatment cycles) wait until I get ewcm to start testing with the opk.

Best time to poas is 15 days post ovulation as this is when af would be due.

doomkittycleo · 09/04/2019 18:01

@Kelly199 I’d say if this is your first day of ewcm you’re probably a bit early for +ve opk. Keep testing (preferably twice a day for the rest of this week).

Kelly199 · 09/04/2019 18:14

@doomkittycleo that's so helpful, thank you. Really appreciate the help! It's so much to take in so it's nice for someone with info! X

Kelly199 · 09/04/2019 18:17

How many follicles and what size has everyone had on clomid as well please? My scan yesterday showed 1x18mm and 2x11mm. Is that good or bad? To have 3 I mean? I know the one is good size. It's unlikely the others will get to size?

doomkittycleo · 09/04/2019 18:23

@Kelly199, my cycles are not monitored so I have no clue, but one at 18mm sounds positive. You don’t want more than one big one as that’d be more likely to cause multiples.

The 18mm one is probably the dominant one that will release after you get your LH surge and the other two will probably just die off (there’s a proper term but I can’t remember what it’s called).

Kelly199 · 09/04/2019 18:46

@doomkittycleo ok thank you 😊 it's nice to know! X

doomkittycleo · 09/04/2019 19:12

@Kelly199 this is my second time trying to conceive with clomid DD1 is 18 months now.

I did a tonne of research the first time round, so happy to share what I learned.

I’m 7dpo so got another week before I can test Halo (must avoid symptom spotting)

Kelly199 · 09/04/2019 20:26

@doomkittycleo fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 !!
I'm the same as you were, I'm trying to research so much to gain knowledge as it's so much to try and take in.
I hope you will have your bfp!! Xx

Bear88 · 09/04/2019 20:36

Hi all! Just checking in with everyone.

Just taken my second lot of tablets and am CD3. The clomid didn't affect my cycle length as came on bang when I should've - my cycles are 28/29 days since taking my bromocriptine. Been enjoying my birthday today and getting tattoo done on Friday! Present from hubby 😊

Not going to lie have been very emotional since AF arrived on Sunday. Feeling like a complete failure and very low. Am struggling to pick myself up - even been down today and I'm usually hyperactive on my birthday! 5 years is such a long time and this is such an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Happy birthday @Bear88. Sorry to hear you're feeling low, not entirely surprising though. This is a sucky rollercoaster ride but hopefully it'll all be worth it x

Pinktruffle · 10/04/2019 09:34

Happy birthday @bear88. Feeling that way is understandable but you are not a failure and you can't allow yourself to think that. This may take time, it may never happened but life will continue regardless and you have to find your joy where you can. It is normal to feel low after a negative test and when AF arrives but that is not all you are. So keep your chin up, you are fighting a battle that many could never make it through and from what I've seen, you are doing an admirable job xxx

doomkittycleo · 10/04/2019 14:59

I hope you had a good Birthday @Bear88.

Not much to update, just had a few scratchy af pain type feeling since 5-6DPO.

Constance1234 · 10/04/2019 20:53

@doomkittycleo Thanks for the info, I had no idea you were supposed to count cycle days like that! I’m just waiting for my period to start so I can get on with trying the Clomid this cycle.
Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone :)

Chuktuk009 · 11/04/2019 20:13

I'm on CD27 and 10dpo (I think),this is my first cycle of clomid and I'm going take a test tomorrow. Is it too early? I am feeling so worried about it, anyone else feeling more emotional taking tests on clomid? Feels like there is more pressure

doomkittycleo · 11/04/2019 20:22

@chuktuk009 absolutely. I’m about the same as you now, 10dpo tomorrow.

I stupidly took a test yesterday (8dpo what was I thinking that was far too early).

I’m trying so hard to distract myself, but keep getting these weird af type pains and know there’s no way to tell if they mean something or not until nearer when af is due, but it’s so hard not to get your hopes up.

I know it took 3 goes last time, but I keep reading posts and videos of loads of people that got their bfp on month one and can’t help but hope that happens this time.

Aggghhh 5 more days!!!

Chuktuk009 · 11/04/2019 20:29

@doomkittycleo I've had mild cramps this evening and last night too, all I've done is over analysed! Fingers crossed 🤞 for you.

Pinktruffle · 11/04/2019 20:47

It's so hard not to over analyse. I've been having more intense cramping type pains this afternoon and I'm driving myself nuts thinking about what it could mean. I'm on CD19 so its probably nothing.

I think maybe some evening meditation is in order

Marmite83 · 12/04/2019 12:20

Happy Friday everyone Smile. Does anyone have anything nice planned for the weekend? I don't actually have anything planned for the first weekend in a while so looking forward to a chilled one.

On cd16 here and it feels like this cycle is lasting forever! After my static smiley on Tuesday morning we BD that evening and the next evening so hoping we've done enough. Now in the dreaded 2ww. How's everyone else doing?

Kelly199 · 12/04/2019 12:40

@Marmite83 I'm on CD16 too, although, I had my +opk yesterday, so I'm expecting to ovulate anytime now!! Fingers crossed anyway 🤞🏼
Hope you have a good weekend. The wait is annoying. Good luck xx

Chuktuk009 · 12/04/2019 17:59

CD28, took a test this morning and it was negative. Spent the day on a maternity ward (with work not out of choice!) infertility has the worst sense of humour!

doomkittycleo · 12/04/2019 18:49

@Chuktuk009 I did a test and got a bfn this morning too. Sore boobs and moody today.

Feeling rather negative now. Losing hope for this cycle. Pizza is on the menu tonight in attempt to cheer me up.

Only plans for the weekend include maybe painting our bedroom.

Pinktruffle · 13/04/2019 12:52

I'm on CD20. We are visiting my parents for a couple of days (which can make BD a bit awkward bit we'll try and sneak it in). It's Easter half term so I have 2 glorious weeks off work. I'm going to catch up with friends whilst we are at my mum and dad which I'm looking forward to. A nice day trip out with DH and my sister on Monday which I'm really looking forward to, I live 2 hours away from my family and miss my sister so much.
And its Game of Thrones on Monday night which I am incredibly excited about so hopefully a nice few days ahead where I can try not to think too much about TTC
