Hi all,

Am about to start my Clomid journey and reading through the 2018 Clomid thread this is what I'm looking for. It's extremely difficult to talk about the issues with people who don't actually understand them so if anyone wants to join in the more the merrier!

I'm 30
TTC #1
Cycle #?? Been trying for 5 years
Have mild Prolactinoma
Taking daily 1mg Bromocriptine for tumour
Just been given 3 months of Clomid
Am also slightly overweight but have never ovulated.

Smile

I hope you all have a lovely weekend Smile

Pinktruffle · 14/04/2019 15:38

I'm on CD 22 and suffering terribly from what I think are AF related pains :( I know it was only my first month so I've tried not to get my hope's up but DH is pretty disappointed

doomkittycleo · 14/04/2019 22:51

@Pinktruffle, af cramps can mean bfp and af, so it doesn’t mean you’re out yet.

You’re not out till the witch shows up 🧙‍♀️

Chuktuk009 · 15/04/2019 08:24

So I'm CD31, I think Im 14dpo (temping and pos). BFN and no AF. I thought I would of had AF a few days ago? Does this mean I may not of ovulated when I thought (or at all???) sorry probably spiralling!

Marmite83 · 15/04/2019 09:03

@Chuktuk009 Clomid can delay AF a few days, try not to panic x

bubbleobill · 15/04/2019 14:17

Has anyone ever missed a clomid pill?
I took days 1 and 2, then forgot on night three. I took it this morning as soon as I woke up. And I'm planning on taking tonight's dose as normal. I hope I've done the right thing.

bubbleobill · 15/04/2019 14:17

Whoops I was on the thread earlier and I named changed

doomkittycleo · 15/04/2019 15:39

@bubbleobill, my leaflet says if you forget a pill take it as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time to take the next pill.

It says do not double up on pills to make up for it.

I’d assume as long as you took the one from last night first thing this morning (therefore it being over 12 hours between pills, it’ll probably be fine), but if you’re not sure you could always ring your Dr.

doomkittycleo · 16/04/2019 21:57

Hi all, I’m 14dpo so af is due tomorrow. I tested yesterday and it was bfn. Pretty certain she’ll be here by tomorrow afternoon.

Not had af cramps for a few days though (although I had loads last week), had a headache the past 2 days but it’s gone now and felt a bit sick and feverish yesterday and had a bit of stomach ache today (more like a virus or something I ate than anything relating to TTC).

doomkittycleo · 17/04/2019 20:28

Ugh I’m feeling really down. Af is due today and hasn’t showed yet, but I’m feeling really pms-y and got cramps.

Just wish she would show up already so I can forget about it for a few days.

Last time took 3 months, but I can’t help worrying it might not work this time.

Then I keep questioning if I’m ready to have another. I know it’s for the best as we always wanted a small age gap, but I just don’t know if I’ve got it in me to go through all this again. It’s only month 1 of clomid and my mood is in my boots.

Just feeling properly depressed. Sorry for the pity party everyone.

fulanigirl · 17/04/2019 21:30

@doomkittycleo you're not completely out yet, so try and keep your chin up! Bank holiday weekend might take your mind off it.

Pinktruffle · 17/04/2019 23:12

@doomkittycleo - I think that feeling of 'what if won't work' is at the back of all our heads all the time. In your case, you have rationalise that with the evidence that shows to the contrary that it can and has worked for you before and there is no reason it cant work for you again. It's just going to take patience, which I can imagine is in short supply.

All you can do is try, and don't let AF get the best of you, it may feel like it at the moment but she doesn't rule your life.

Marmite83 · 18/04/2019 15:10

How's everyone doing today? Cd22 here and I'm symptom spotting as usual. I ended up ovulating on cd13 this cycle, probably due to only taking 2 Clomid tablets this cycle. No idea when I should expect AF, I would think it may come a little earlier than usual due to the early ovulation (for me). I've got a fairly busy BH weekend planned to try to keep my mind off it. It's my DH birthday on Wednesday, it would be so lovely if I had some good news to give him but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much.

doomkittycleo · 18/04/2019 15:22

@Fulanigirl af came in full force this morning 16dpo (just to tease me) 😞 and my cramps are now worse than ever. Just took some paracetamol and hoping DD will have a nap so I can have one too.

@Pinktruffle thanks for the positive comments. I know you’re right but atm I can’t help thinking if I didn’t BD for another 2 years that would be fine by me. It’s just not something I’m feeling interested in at all.

@Marmite83 I’m feeling pretty crappy tbh. Af cramps are agonising, I have a bad headache and generally feeling really moody.

My bank holiday plans are very minimal, going for a meal Friday with a friend and her new fella, and a 1 year olds birthday party Saturday afternoon.

I guess when you’re a SAHM and DP is self employed, bank holidays don’t really mean much to you.

murree · 18/04/2019 15:56

Hello all,
I'm currently on cycle 2 with clomid - I already ovulate but due to having a blocked tube my consultant thought it was worth a try popping a few more eggs each month!
Today is ovulation day - my left ovary is tender so I'm thinking i will pop from this side, but this is also the side that is blocked.
Feeling a little like its over before its even begun this month now Sad

Marmite83 · 18/04/2019 16:12

@doomkittycleo so sorry to hear af has turned up! The first couple of days of af are the worst for me, physically and emotionally. I hope the pain eases soon for you and you can get outside and enjoy the sunshine over the weekend.

@murree I can understand why you might be feeling disappointed. Is the tube completely blocked? Hopefully an egg will find it's way through!

fulanigirl · 18/04/2019 16:28

@doomkittycleo sorry to hear about AF but at least it means you can start the next cycle. For me the AF cramps on Clomid was the worse I have ever had in my life. I took nurofen just to get through them.

@Marmite83 I am on CD 24 and I have convinced myself I am pregnant because I've had implantation pains. I have my very first Ivf appointment next Tuesday and I am very worried because I've gained weight. My bmi is closer to 31 than 30. I'm so ashamed of myself but trying really hard to lose weight again.

I also had an appointment last week to discuss some test results and the doctor diagnosed me with pcos and gave me some metformin. She then also referred me to the miscarriage unit but there is a long waiting list. In the meantime, I have started taking low dose aspirin and using progesterone cream everyday off my own back. I really feel one more miscarriage would break me.

murree · 18/04/2019 16:40

@marmite83 yes I believe it is. Waiting for a Laperoscopy to try and unblock it or remove it.
To make matters worse AF is due the day my mum gets married lol!

keishacasey · 18/04/2019 18:09

Hi

I'm recovering from chicken pox and I have to start my first round of clomid 3-5 this week. Should I continue or would I be to risky trying to conceive right now

Pinktruffle · 18/04/2019 18:26

@murree as I recently discovered in the Gynaegeek book, our fallopian tubes are not fixed, they flap around as if they are doing the Mexican wave so even if your egg comes from the left ovary, the right fallopian tube can pick it up and often does.

@doomkittycleo I totally feel you on the fedupness with BD, as soon as I get pregnant, I will happily not BD again for quite some time

Marmite83 · 19/04/2019 10:52

@Pinktruffle I didn't know that! Sounds hopeful @murree Smile

I also could happily not BD for quite a long time, it's become so regimented no matter how hard we try for it not to.

Would be lovely to see some bfps on this thread. Who's almost ready to test?

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2019 11:58

I'm on CD27. I don't know whether to test on CD30 or wait until my usual period is due which is CD 36

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2019 11:59

My fingers are crossed for anyone else due to test, we need to see some positives in here

fulanigirl · 19/04/2019 18:38

@Pinktruffle @Marmite83 I'm 9 dpo tomorrow and plan on testing. Are you going to? @Pinktruffle

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2019 18:55

I don't know.... I'm scared, I find the effects of a negative test quite devastating. I don't know if I should wait till my normal AF due date which is in a week and a couple of days
