@pinktruffle I don’t really know how to help with your DH’s excitement as DP was the opposite when we were trying for DD.
He almost seemed disinterested for much of the process and I felt like I was forcing myself on him. Luckily he has taken to fatherhood like a natural and is more keen this time.
All I can say is embrace his enthusiasm, don’t feel like you’re letting him down. I’m sure he’d be gutted if he knew you felt that way. Just try to enjoy having this time with your DH. (Be greatful you don’t have to wait till your DC is napping to get BDing 😉).
First time round it became a chore and it wasn’t fun at all. I must admit I’m more relaxed this time,
If god forbid it does take a while to get your BFP you don’t want to burn out too soon.
Remember it took us 3 rounds of clomid with DD and if you’re still not pregnant by the time you’ve had a few more months on clomid, you have many more options available.
@Eleanor15, it’s funny how different Drs give different advice re opk’s. Mine specifically said to use them and BD accordingly. I have heard they can be inaccurate in the first 2-3 days after the last clomid pill, but other than that I don’t think they’re that unreliable.
I’m more sure than ever before that twice a day testing is better after seeing how short my surge was this cycle. Many people get a gradual second line, but mine came and went (if I tested once a day I’d have missed it).
I certainly was stressed this time last week as I didn’t get the +ve opk when I expected it, but now I’m feeling relieved as I know we got it and have BD’d yesterday and today. Gonna do tomorrow too, then we can relax for the next 2 weeks knowing we’ve done our best (who am I kidding 😉, I’ll be symptom spotting like the rest of you).
