Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs Smile.

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

@PrayingandHoping - that's great news! Congratulations,

@ginandtonicformeplease - yes fingers crossed all does smoothly and hopefully the lining sorts itself out within two week. I wouldn't worry about the cramping, I still get cramping from time to time, the placenta is still developing and the progesterone can cause cramps. Perfectly normal side effects! Fingers crossed the next week flies by for you! X

intrigued2018 · 21/03/2019 19:26

@Realitysucks - thank you, I'm trying not to worry too much. Roll on my 8week scan. The nauseas is starting to kick in, more in terms of the thought of sweets churns my stomach and I'm normally a sweetaholic! I also randomly fancy stuffing!
The progesterone causes some lovely side effects, I'm sure next Friday will be here before you know it. Try to focus on work but try to give yourself some rest time also and don't overdo it! I was told the trigger shot stays in your system for at least 10days, when I did ovulation induction last yr it stayed for 11days xxx

I think I’m out....tested yesterday and today (9dp and 10dp5dt) and both as negative as can be.
Our transfer was quite late in the afternoon, so I’m clinging to the hope that I’m not technically at 10pd until about 5pm, but I know that’s also not really going to change anything.
It was our first go at this, so perhaps foolish to think it would but I’m really sad. Our embryos were really good, and we’ve now only got one left to try (which wasn’t so good).
OTD is tomorrow, but I don’t think anything will change by then.
Good luck everyone x

Realitysucks · 24/03/2019 08:49

@ParksAndRecreation it may be too early still! Someone posted the other week can’t remember of here or other thread I’m on but they tested Friday and got a negative was gutted. Clinic told them to test again on the Monday and it was positive ! 10 days is still early isn’t it or is it not the same with a fet ?

I’m 8 days since transfer and I got a negative this morning. I really think AF is coming in next couple of days as she is due Wednesday 😞 and have period pains so think I’m out too 😞

ParksAndRecreation · 24/03/2019 09:01

Oh @realitysucks - I’m sorry to hear that. I know miracles can happen, but I don’t see how in my case it will. If you’re even slightly pregnant surely you get a faint line? I’ve seen enough “line progression” pictures to last me a lifetime.
This was our first round, and our first transfer and so I’m not sure of the difference in testing with a fresh vs a fet but it seems like you can test earlier with a fet because of the lack of trigger. Who knows.
I’ll go through the rigmarole of testing tomorrow and I’ve kept the extra sensitive test from the clinic for then and just used FRER yesterday and today...so there is a (tiny) world in which things might be different but I doubt it.
Then I’ll have the joy of going to work and having to sit less than 2 metres away from someone who won’t fucking stop talking about being pregnant for the next 6 months...
This is all so crap - sending you love x

bunnieboo91 · 24/03/2019 19:11

@Realitysucks Hey girl! I had AF pains throughout my TWW and I got my BFP. Don't test so early! You might be torturing yourself for no reason! Stay positive Smile

intrigued2018 · 24/03/2019 19:20

@ParksAndRecreation - please don't give up hope yet, my sister tested a day early and got a negative then on her test date for a positive.

@Realitysucks - i know it's hard not to think the worse and the tww is hard. I've had period cramps throughout, I think its the cyclogest as not quite so frequent since on Lubion plus I feel a lot more positive (except for the constant tiredness) Fingers crossed all goes well on Friday x

Realitysucks · 24/03/2019 20:48

@bunnieboo91 @ParkAndRecreation @Intrigued2018 thanks I’m holding in there just! I did buy a house today though !!! How bad is this a new build opposite an under 5s park 😬 that’s gonna sting if it doesn’t happen for us!!

@ParkAndRecreation it’s our first time to transfer as previously we didn’t even get to EC as only 1 follicle! I have one cycle left to try but really will have to put on hold till the end of the year now given the house buying!

ParksAndRecreation · 25/03/2019 08:33

Hospital home piss test also negative this morning on OTD. Have to go to the stupid clinic to have a blood test anyway, as I haven’t had a period yet but obviously it’ll be negative as well.
This is such a load of shit.
Good luck everyone xx

intrigued2018 · 25/03/2019 09:01

@Realitysucks - it's good to have something else to focus on! Roll on Friday.

@ParksAndRecreation - so sorry to hear this cycle hasn't worked for you! I hope you are okay 😘 x

Realitysucks · 25/03/2019 12:35

Right girls I know this is stupid !!! But I did a test this morning. It looked negative, Ive just looked at it, it’s an evap isn’t it ???!!?? You have to enlarge it to see but it looks blue!

ginandtonicformeplease · 25/03/2019 12:40

@Realitysucks I can't tell I'm afraid but after I had a negative with Clearblue on my OTD and then a positive with First Response I'm afraid I no longer trust them! (I'm probably being a bit OTT and they do say they're not 100% Grin)

Realitysucks · 25/03/2019 13:03

@ginandtonicformeplease clinic said to buy a clear blue but am off to Shop to get a frer!

bunnieboo91 · 25/03/2019 16:25

@Realitysucks I would hold off until Wednesday now to test! Try and hold one more day without testing to see if the line will get more visible.

Realitysucks · 26/03/2019 07:20

I’m out it hasn’t worked after all the last yesterday bloody AF has arrived 😭

Twiglet2353 · 26/03/2019 07:22

@Realitysucks I'm so sorry. It's cruel how unfair life can be sometimes x

ParksAndRecreation · 26/03/2019 07:36

@realitysucks I’m sorry x

intrigued2018 · 26/03/2019 07:43

@Realitysucks - oh lovely, im so so sorry to hear this!! I'm gutted for you, sending you a massive hug! Xxx

Realitysucks · 26/03/2019 07:58

Sorry tmi warning ! watery red so will be here by tonight 😞 I am upset but to be honest I’m just going to focus on the house now. I think I’m going to have a break and get some more money together as all our savings will be going into the house. We have a cycle left so will have a holiday in July and try after. I was starting to worry over the house buying and being on maternity only two months after taking the mortgage. At least this gives us some breathing space so trying to look at the positives ( of their ereally are any!) . A bit worried about the bleed only 12 days after EC though it looks like my time is getting shorter so will ring clinic when I get to work 😞

bunnieboo91 · 26/03/2019 08:53

@Realitysucks I am so sorry to hear this :( Thinking of you!

intrigued2018 · 26/03/2019 18:29

@Realitysucks - seems like you have a plan in place and a couple of months off fertility treatment, enjoying yourself and not stressing will hopefully do you the world of good! It's great you have the house to focus on and a holiday to look forward to. Make sure you look after yourself, put your feet up and let DP do the running around. X

Realitysucks · 27/03/2019 17:29

Right ladies, so no more signs of AF a minute bleed yesterday and now nothin as CM is as white as white can be! 🤷‍♀️ Clinic have said to carry on with meds and test on Friday and Saturday. Test today negative 🤷‍♀️ So I’m lost really as not sure what’s going on.

intrigued2018 · 27/03/2019 17:53

@Realitysucks - well our bodies definitely like to keep us in suspense and adding to the emotional roller coaster than IVF is! Fingers and toes crossed for Friday, only a couple more days to go. Although I'm sure that feels a lifetime away.

@ginandtonicformeplease - good luck for your scan tomorrow xxx

ginandtonicformeplease · 27/03/2019 20:15

@intrigued2018 Thanks, I'm really nervous! How do I stop myself from worrying and thinking the worst - or just from thinking full stop 😬 The only symptom I have is that my boobs just wont stop growing and they're sore as well, but no sickness at all.
Is your next scan next week now?

@Realitysucks Our bodies have a mind of their own - how many days past transfer are you?

intrigued2018 · 27/03/2019 20:43

@ginandtonicformeplease - everyone gets completely different symptoms and remember that some people get none at all so don't even know they are pregnant for weeks. At this stage it's so hard to tell. I wish I could switch off my mind also, it's so hard not to think the worse. I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine! My DH keeps telling me I need to be more positive but I can't get out of a negative frame of mind and starting to feel a little depressed as can't be bothered with normal life. I'm at the drs monday to see what on-going meds I can get on the nhs and so going to discuss it then. My scan is next Wednesday now. X
