Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs Smile.

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

@ParksAndRecreation It's a strange feeling when you've got them on board and just have to wait and see! Good luck.

@Realitysucks That's great that two fertilised - I hope tomorrow goes ok.

@intrigued2018 How are you feeling? The not knowing is awful.

intrigued2018 · 15/03/2019 12:55

@ginandtonicformeplease - I'm feeling okay, go from being I can deal with this to ended up crying. Doesn't help work is being really shitty today so making it even harder to keep myself together and not break down / telling them to sod off but I know I have to deal with it instead of running and hiding.

@Realitysucks - let us know how you get on tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed for you. Xx

Just a little update from me - call from the clinic half an hour ago, my blood came back and my hcg levels have doubled 🥳🥳🥳 they don't know the cause of the spotting/bleeding but said it can happen at this stage as a result of the treatment and lining being slightly to thick so body shreds it slightly. Going to have another blood test next end of next week then it's waiting until our 7week scan on 28th. Still a nervy few weeks but so far our embryo is clinging on and clinic have said I'm no more at risk of losing this pregnancy than anyone else! Now to stop eating a tonne of rubbish to comfort myself and back on protein & veg! Thank you all for your support, you've been so helpful and reassuring Xxxx

Realitysucks · 15/03/2019 20:47

@intrigued2018 that’s frat news so pleased for you! I will let you know tomrorw in me. No further new from clinic so fingers crossed!

intrigued2018 · 15/03/2019 21:00

@Realitysucks - thank you! Won't relax until we see that heartbeat but it's positive at the moment and said bloods show all progressing as should. I asked about a MMC and said nope as HCG wouldn't continue to rise. Now to try not spend the next two weeks worrying! best of luck for you tomorrow, thinking of you 😘😘 x

ginandtonicformeplease · 15/03/2019 21:05

@intrigued2018 That's fantastic news! I've got my 7 week scan on 28th too Smile

intrigued2018 · 15/03/2019 21:11

@ginandtonicformeplease - fingers crossed for us both on the 28th

Sending all a tonne of well wishes and success on their journaled 😘😘 x

ParksAndRecreation · 15/03/2019 22:18

Oh that is WONDERFUL! @intruigued2018 What an absolute result!!!!! Well done! I’m so pleased!!!

Realitysucks · 16/03/2019 07:59

@Intrigued2018 try not to worry x I know what you mean about seeing heartbeat. I have had a MC at just under 6 weeks. You are past that so heartbeat should be there now. X x

I’m getting ready for transfer now. God I hope it doesn’t hurt as I can feel my cervix and she is feeling tender !!! Does anyone know if I can take painkillers before?

intrigued2018 · 16/03/2019 08:35

@ParksAndRecreation - I'm in absolute shock to be honest, I'm still not telling myself everything okay but a relief to know nothing seems to be compromised. I've banned myself from google and baby apps until at least 7 weeks.

@Realitysucks - I hope all is goes well with your transfer today 😘😘 x

intrigued2018 · 16/03/2019 08:37

@Realitysucks - sorry serves me right for not updating my app before responding! I was told to only take paracetamol, I think you'd be fine to take some. I'm currently 5+3weeks, counting down the days to the 28th and crossing my fingers all will be okay. Just need to take it easy between now and then as think I overdid it last weekend / early this week, x

Realitysucks · 16/03/2019 12:04

@Intrigued2018 29th March day after your scan x 🥰

bunnieboo91 · 17/03/2019 10:40

@Realitysucks I hope it all went ok ET! I have my scan on Wednesday and it can't come quick enough! I've taken two test afterwards just incase its all a dream Grin

Realitysucks · 17/03/2019 11:09

@bunnieboo91 yes ET was absolutely fine! I was so worried it would hurt but Harley felt a thing. Now in this weird limbo land felling pregnant ( thanks to the lubion and cyclogest ) I’m really not liking the pessary every morning and night 😬 good luck for Wednesday. Will be thinking of you x let us know how you get on!

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 11:07

Hey all, I don't suppose anyone is on the Lubion progesterone injections instead of cyclogest? If so how have you found it? My clinic have just switched me. Had some more bleeding and waiting for another hcg result. Feeling quite low about the entire situation, stuck in limbo land and want to just bury my head, instead having to put on a happy face and brave work! X

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2019 12:23

@intrigued2018 lol I'm on cyclogest (2 twice a day) and lubion!

Lubion is fine, I'm used to it now.... i think it's quite thick as I find the syringe depresses v slowly but it doesn't sting or anything

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 12:30

@PrayingandHoping - thanks, good to know it goes in quite slowly and doesn't hurt. Do you mind me asking why are you on both? I had a concern I wasn't absorbing the cyclogest sufficiently due to other on-going health issue, the clinic have said they aren't concerned but as I am they'll switch me to injections. I also have PCOS so know my natural progesterone levels in early pregnancy could be low so it's interesting that some clinics prescribed both x

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2019 12:45

@intrigued2018 we have unexplained infertility and am with a private clinic so when going for the options we all decided to go full hog at it. Have my 7 week scan Thursday 🤞

I also put an ice cube on the area before I do the injection and I don't feel anthing

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 13:01

@PrayingandHoping - thank you really useful. Best of luck for Thursday, 🤞🏻 for you'

I felt my clinic (we have also gone private) were doing everything but the last week started feeling a little concerned. Seems like upto the ET they know everything but once it goes beyond that and things start getting complicated they aren't 100% (I know no-one knows why these things happen but a process would be good). Reading online at 6weeks NHS guidelines say about doing scan, i asked my clinic and they said no scan is needed only the hcg levels I had to push to get them retested after heavier bleeding. I guess I'm just trying to figure out everything which isn't possible and feeling low so thinking the worse. X

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2019 13:05

@intrigued2018
Have they booked u in for a scan? When the rang me with my blood test result confirming pregnancy they booked me in for a scan at 7 weeks while on the phone. I know I could ring a request an earlier scan if I was worried too. All the scans are paid for separately.... it isn't part of any package. So it's offered and just up to you. They advise the minimum and then if you're worried or have concerns they do extra. I do feel supported, they are always on the end of the phone any day and time.

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 13:31

@PrayingandHoping - I have a 7week scan as part of the package which is next Tuesday (they did bring it forward 2days). They are always on the end of the phone and have an out of hours number

Think I'm just feeling emotionally and physically drained as started spotting last Wednesday, and also desperately trying to find answers or excuses for what's going on. they'll scan 7 weeks then if no heartbeat will scan at 8 weeks before deciding it's not viable! The thought of being in limbo land knowing there is a high probably the pregnancy isn't viable is horrendous. The NHS guidelines on bleeding etc say blood test and scan after 6weeks so may go to drs tomorrow and see if I can get referred to the early pregnancy unit. Xxx

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2019 13:39

@intrigued2018 has the spotting stopped? It is a worry.

Some EPU let u self refer so may be worth calling them and finding out the protocols?

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 13:52

@PrayingandHoping - the spotting has more or less stopped but still there slight, however it did Saturday morning then Saturday evening I had heavy bleeding. I'm just waiting for see blood again, panicking every time I need the loo! It a been a massive worry, we've resigned ourselves to this pregnancy not being viable but it's a never ending process that keeps on giving!

I've looked into my local EPU as unfortunately it's a referral system. My drs is shut on a tues pm so I'll wait for my hcg results and go from there. X
