Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs Smile.

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

@intrigued2018 ☹️ how stressful. I hope the lubion helps. There are lot of stories on here if people who have bleed and gone on to have successful pregnancies. Don't loose hope xx

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 14:12

@PrayingandHoping - thank you so much, fingers crossed x

Realitysucks · 19/03/2019 19:06

@Intrigued2018 aww hun I’m sorry things are stressful. I would either tell clinic you want one and pay extra or go and get referred for a scan with GP. It’s no good you being stressed so it’s better they scan you.

I am on Lubion injections and cyclogest twice a day. I also find the injections more difficult than the ivf ones as it is slower to inject and I seem to find them a bit more painful. I always get a small pea sized lump at the injection site but this goes down after a bit. It’s not horrendous unlike the messy pessaries 🤣🤣🤣.

I think they gave them to me due to age and because I’ve had an MC before so it’s to support the lining. I did have a choice of the bum injections but appparently it’s oil based and really really painful ! So I declined it!

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 19:39

@Realitysucks - thanks sweetie, I hate this entire process. I've found the last week a million times more stressful and depressing than the actual IVF process. Got today's results and my hcg levels have increased as they should have so really pleased, I've pushed them to do a scan which is on Thursday. DH can't get the time off work which is a little upsetting but my mum is going to come with me to hold my hand 🥰

Good to know about the lubion, DH will do tonight's one then it's over to me from tomorrow morning. I'm scared. I do my clexane injection myself now which is painful so fingers crossed.

How are you feeling in your tww? I have everything crossed for you for next week x

Realitysucks · 19/03/2019 20:17

@Intrigued2018, honestly lubion isn’t that bad just do it slowly and don’t panic about it taking ages to go in.

I am ok thanks, my cloud 9 feeling is rapidly draining! I’ve had back pain today, and pulling pains in womb plus really sore boobs but all probably the progesterone. Dr said 4-5 days for implantation which is tomorrow /Thursday. Really feel like AF is on her way but everyone says they feel like that and mines not due for another week.

intrigued2018 · 19/03/2019 20:29

@Realitysucks - thanks, I've just gone through the process with DH ahead of injection time at 10pm. I'm making sure I take my meds exactly 12hrs apart.

Don't feel downhearted I know it's hard not to but everyone says about getting period pains in the tww. I did, I'm pretty sure my implantation was evening 5days later as got a fully cramp but most people feel nothing and have no different symptoms of AF arriving. I have positive feeling for you xxx

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2019 21:36

@Realitysucks I got left sided stitch like pain in the 2ww and have had it a little bit since too.

Everything crossed for you x

intrigued2018 · 20/03/2019 07:20

@PrayingandHoping and @bunnieboo91 - best of luck with your scans today xxx

PrayingandHoping · 20/03/2019 07:23

@intrigued2018 it's tomorrow 😫 wish time would hurry up! Suspense is not fun! Lol x

intrigued2018 · 20/03/2019 12:25

@PrayingandHoping - sorry not sure why I thought it was today! Fingers and toes crossed for you, each day seems to drag x

bunnieboo91 · 20/03/2019 13:04

@intrigued2018 Thank you so much! I am in the waiting room now and bricking it! My heart is pounding!

intrigued2018 · 20/03/2019 13:17

@bunnieboo91 - I'm sure all will be fine, best of luck x

bunnieboo91 · 20/03/2019 19:02

I had my scan today and all was well. I've been discharged from the ivf clinic Shock bit scary but over the moon!

January/ February IVF/ICSI
intrigued2018 · 20/03/2019 20:16

Congratulations @bunnieboo91 - really pleased 😘 x

Realitysucks · 20/03/2019 20:37

@bunnieboo91 yeahhhh am so pleased for you! That’s fab! 8 weeks too!

AFM I’m knackered girls. I’ve really taken a slump today and feel so exhausted. Even though I worked from home today and didn’t even have to do my normal commute. I can’t wait to get off this progesterone 🙄

ginandtonicformeplease · 20/03/2019 21:39

Congratulations @bunnieboo91 , that's fantastic!

. @Realitysucks I know what you mean about the progesterone. I have to have two pessaries twice a day - I'm actually thinking of asking the clinic to switch me to injections as I'm a bit worried too much of the pessaries is coming back out - it's tough getting two in at once Blush

I'm also exhausted today. Feeling a bit down as well - today would have been the due date of my first pregnancy if I hadn't miscarried last year. So so scared that's going to happen again.

intrigued2018 · 20/03/2019 22:14

@ginandtonicformeplease - I hope you are okay, please try not to worry I know it's a lot easier said than done. Today is an important date for you so make sure you take it easy. The entire process is a rollercoaster, there is no reason to say you'll miscarry this time, positive vibes! Fingers crossed for this little one 😘 I've now switched over to the injections for the same reason and I was worried I wasn't absorbing enough, at least this way I know it's going straight into my blood stream and don't have to worry about it not being in long enough.

@Realitysucks - the exhaustion is a nightmare, I find I have good and bad days even and this was before my positive test. Just listen to your body and make DP do the running around. Fingers crossed for you xxx

PrayingandHoping · 20/03/2019 22:23

@ginandtonicformeplease are you laying down for a while once you apply the pessaries? I find if I lay down for at least an hour (or do the pm one when I go to bed) it's not too bad. My clinic said not to worry about discharge as your body will have absorbed what it needs to after half an hour

I'm on 2 twice a day too as well as lubion injection

ParksAndRecreation · 21/03/2019 09:16

Hi everyone - how are you all doing?

I’m 7dp5dt today and apart from a couple of hours of feeling a pretty constant weird throbbing in my tummy around 5dp5dt I’m not really feeling anything going on down there. No spotting, no other cramps, nothing.

I’ve started having major acid reflux in the middle of the night too. Pretty much every night since ET and it’s so bad it wakes me up.

Never had it before, so this is just another thing about this limbo period which is crap!!

I’m not supposed to test until Monday morning, but don’t fancy doing that (a MONDAY FFS) but equally don’t want to test early.

It’s all getting a bit much!

intrigued2018 · 21/03/2019 11:42

@PrayingandHoping - fingers crossed for your scan today, let us know how you got on.

@ParksAndRecreation - try not to stress to much, it'll still be too early to test. Fingers crossed for Monday. Whilst I got period pains during my tww and some funny signs towards the end I didn't have many signals.

@Realitysucks - how are you feeling today? I hope you are feeling a little brighter.

I had a scan today, all was good. The little mite is hanging in there, measuring as it should and even got to hear a little heartbeat which I wasn't expecting at 6+1 weeks. It was tiny. They could see where the bleeding came from, they think it's now heeling I could get some more spotting but hopefully not. Back at 8weeks (3rd april) for next scan, feeling happier but still not letting myself get excited as I don't trust my body. X

PrayingandHoping · 21/03/2019 13:17

@intrigued2018 just had my scan. All perfect. Over the moon 😁😁😁

I had a v small amount brown spotting end last week, they couldn't see any sign of it coming from my uterus and think it was my cervix.

ginandtonicformeplease · 21/03/2019 17:45

@PrayingandHoping @intrigued2018 Fantastic news for you both! That's great to hear the heartbeat so early @intrigued2018. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly from now on.

I don't know how I'm going to wait for a week until my scan - it seems such a long time to wait! I'm still getting random cramps every now and then, does anyone else have similar? It's so difficult to know what's normal and what's not.

Realitysucks · 21/03/2019 18:39

@ParksAndRecreation good luck for Monday, how comes your date is earlier than mine lol! I’m 9dpo5dpt

So I was stupid and did a test, even though I already know it’s too early and I still have the trigger in me! So how long for 10,000ug of trigger to come out? I reckon 10 days as 1000 per 24 hours. So guess what, test was positive but feint so that was a pointless exercise wasn’t it 🙄🙄🙄🤣🤣

Realitysucks · 21/03/2019 18:44

@intrigued2018 that’s good news on the heartbeat x I know it’s hard but try not to worry. Just take each day as it comes x

I am ok thanks. Have really sore gums though and my lower back is killing me and I constantly feel like I wanna poo(tmi sorry 😐) but I’m putting it all down to the lovely progesterone. I am tired though. Been working quite hard and have been in the office every morning at 8 and not leaving till nearly 7pm and that’s not even including my 1hour 20 min commute 🙄 I need next week to get on with itself or do one 🤣🤣🤣 Ill tell you by about Wednesday which one I’m feeling 🤣

ParksAndRecreation · 21/03/2019 19:17

@realitysucks it might be because I did a FET and so no trigger to test out. It’ll be 11dp5dt by then and from what I’ve read, it looks like you can get to test slightly earlier after a frozen....might do a cheeky one on Sunday morning just to get it out the way. Good luck with yours! Any symptoms your end?
