Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs .

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

@ginandtonicformeplease - sorry just catching up on this thread!!! Massive congratulations I am sooooo pleased for you! Glad it turned out well. Have you got a 7 week scan?

@Realitysucks - seems positive they are progressing with EC, when are you booked in again?

I've had some spotting this morning, was at the clinic for my intralipid infusion so they've put that on holiday and done my blood tests. Since Saturday I've been panicking about MC (even to the degree I've had dreams on it!) and now it feels like that could happen. No intraipid and bloods back in the morning. Can't stop panicking / crying today - think it's going to be a long night. Clinic have been amazing and consultant will call me with update / next steps tomorrow. X

@intrigued2018 spotting is normal though isn't it? Please don't panic, easy to say I know but added stress isn't what you need

@ginandtonic31 I am going for a pipelle on the 1st, if I recall correctly the clinic said it'd be around the 26th Ill have the transfer. When did you have an EC?

@ViolaD77 I had egg collection 1st March. But we are now waiting for PGD results. 6 days into a 2-3 week wait. We probably won't start with the meds for a transfer until mid May though. That's if there's anything to put back in!

@ViolaD77 - it does happen and is common but isn't normal. Can end up being okay but can also lead to MC, I had implantation bleeding last week and this is slightly different. Had my bloods taken at the clinic and looks like the call will come in first thing tomorrow although not sure what it'll tell them and going to push for another blood test on Friday to see the progression in my HCG levels.I just want to go to bed to escape everything but then don't want to as means spotting/bleeding could increase.

@ViolaD77 My clinic are pretty strict about whether they'll put back one or two - they gave me a choice this time as it was the third attempt but for the previous two transfers it was one only.

@intrigued2018 When do you get the blood work results? Spotting can mean anything at this stage, it's not necessarily a bad sign. Completely understand why you're so worried though, I'm absolutely paranoid about a miscarriage.

I'm off for intralipids this evening. I think my clinic is just set up for people who don't work - they're strictly open 9-5, and I've taken so much time off that I can't really take any more. I've found a service that can administer IVs instead that's open in the evenings, so I'm trying that out this evening. How I wish I didn't have to work but unfortunately if I didn't we couldn't pay for the IVF in the first place!

@violaD77 I am on Meriofert and cetrotide and on the max dose of 450. My first cycle I only had 1 follicle on day ten. Second time they did a blood test for fsh which was 5 and e2 was good but still only 3 follicles. I think I am just a poor responder

Thanks all - I'm waiting for the clinic to call me back, they have my results but the reception staff can't give them to me has to be a nurse or consultant. I'm just praying all is okay.

Clinic are very happy with my hcg levels for the beginning of week 5. I have another blood test tomorrow to check they are doubling as they should be and will get results Saturday morning, feeling nervous xxx

I’m just about to start drinking 45,000 litres of water in prep for ET. I just hope the 2 embryos survive the thaw...🤞🏼

Thanks all, I still don't feel like I can relax until I know the results on Saturday. This journey is definitely testing me - thankfully DH has been so amazing and supportive!

@ParksAndRecreation - good luck with the drinking challenge, be careful not to overdrink like I did! It honestly felt like torture not being able to pee, the consultant even commented on the size on my stomach asking if it was my bladder as he was concerned it with bloating with OHSS 🤣 I'm sure they'll survive the big thaw. Exciting times xx

Turns out my optimism was shortlived - spotting has increased and turning more red so think the little embryo is definitely on its way out!!! Absolutely heartbroken.

I'm praying everything goes well for everyone else and you get the dream you really wish for & deserve for all the love and effort! Xxx

@intigued2018 I am so sorry. This journey is so tough on us mentally and physically.

I have had EC they got three eggs. One was immature so could t be used. One had only just matured so they said it’s a lower chance of fertilisation. Both eggs have been ICSI and now we wait for tomrorw to see if they have fertilised 😞 odds not looking good though.

@Realitysucks - thank you, it is a really tough process. It just frustrates me when I see people I went to school with falling pregnant who are single mums and don't appreciate just how lucky they are! I'm struggling to see friends babies as well.

How did you find EC? How you feeling? Try not feel disheartened you only need 1 to take, fingers crossed. Dare you getting daily progress calls? Xxx

@Intrigued2018 I actually feel ok. Loads better than after the scratch! Had no pain till about an hour ago and then just a tiny bit of cramping so nothing major. No bleeding at all. They are going to call me in the morning to let me know just hoping they fertilise but if it does fertilise then they will put back in on Saturday day 2.

Whoop whoop girls two fertilised eggs !!! Transfer tomorrow as long as they divide ! But she said 90% do!

@Realitysucks - great news that two fertilised, I am over the moon for you! Are you planning on having 1 or 2 transferred? Glad you felt okay last night, after mine I just felt groggy. X

@intrigued2018 having two put back in if they both divide. We signed for three as that what clinic said and if we got that many as I’m 41. So better chance of at least one sticking. Would love two though as we would be done then 🤣🤣

@ParksAndRecreation - I'm okay trying to keep things together at the moment and carry on like nothing is happening. Had my second lot of bloods and should hopefully find out tomorrow morning latest (will chase last thing tonight just in case). How did transfer go? How you feeling? Xxx

@intruiged2018 - I'm feeling fine. Bit like nothing happened! The two embryos thawed with 90% cell survival and so they're just in there doing their thing....and I've got until the 25th to wait. Keep having to remind myself they're in there though!
Can't say I feel anything different - and as I've never been pregnant I don't know what I would / wouldn't be feeling, so I'm just trying to keep forgetting about it and be normal.
