Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

@justwaitingforaline-the nurse made the pessaries sound pretty grim. Just have to hope they do some good! Glad everything is on track for you.

Positivity86 · 12/12/2018 21:19

Hi everyone, I'm back. Welcome to those who have recently joined Smile

@womaninkent I'm starting Buserelin on the 28 December too...cycle buddies! Our injection training is next week and meds are sorted. It all feels very real now!

@AliceScarlett Sorry to hear about the long wait...as others have said, keeping calling and badgering them. We had to do this too after our NHS hospital sat on our referral paperwork for weeks because of internal staff issues!

Update from me:
My donor was scanned yesterday and I was scanned today, and we are both progressing perfectly! She is being scanned again tomorrow, and depending on the results will have egg collection either Monday or Wednesday. How exciting!
We also had some more good news - I thought that whatever eggs were produced would be shared between me and another recipient but we get all of them!!! So hopefully we will have some to spare too 🤞🤞
On the downside, my hormones are still all over the place. I cried on the nurse this morning (who was absolutely lovely and gave me a massive hug ❤️).

Another update:

I've just had a call from my clinic. EC is Monday (donor has done amazingly, she thinks there are 9-10 eggs 🤞🤞). Transfer now planned for next Saturday which is our wedding anniversary! It's a sign 🙌

Positivity86 · 14/12/2018 17:43

@jemimafuddleduck amazing news!! Defo a sign. Good luck! Smile

jemimafuddleduck · 15/12/2018 12:58

Thanks @Positivity86 😊

My AF has finally arrived meaning I start my injections 5th Jan (1 day earlier than my plan). Feeing excited and scared at the same time. After such a long time to wait I can't actually believe I'm starting my first cycle!

Yay, that’s great news brighteyes!

I managed to hold my friends very small 2 week old without crying today, small victories and all! Grin

jemimafuddleduck · 16/12/2018 18:42

@brighteye3986 that's great news! 😊

brighteye3986 · 16/12/2018 18:50

Thanks everyone.

That's good new brighteyes.

I hope the EC went well today Jemima.

CornishMaid1 · 17/12/2018 17:13

I finally ovulated this month at the weekend (only a week and a half late!), so all of my dates are now out.

I think my cycle may end up being pushed to March, but I am hoping I can still make February, but I am now likely to be around 11th February rather than the 4th.

I should start downregging around 17th January if the dates work out though - can't believe how quickly it is coming around.

jemimafuddleduck · 17/12/2018 19:37

Egg collection went amazingly well today - we have 12 eggs! Which, considering last week I only thought we'd have 4 as would be egg sharing is fab!
DH produced a "particularly good sample" according to the embryologist- which he is very smug about Hmm so we are all systems go! We will get a phone call on Wednesday to let us know how many have fertilised 🤞🤞
I can't believe our time is finally here...

Positivity86 · 18/12/2018 20:09

@jemimafuddleduck that's great news! You must be so pleased with that number. I hope the call from the embryologist goes well tomorrow 🤞🏻

Positivity86 · 18/12/2018 20:12

@CornishMaid1 how exciting, that will soon come round. I start down regs next Friday! Christmas will be slightly different this year 😊

jemimafuddleduck · 18/12/2018 20:24

Thanks @Positivity86 - I've been wishing the day away today which is terrible really. One of the worst things about infertility is how much time you wish away when waiting for the next appointment/thing to happen!!

Vikkidouglas · 18/12/2018 20:38

How are you feeling after egg collection? 12 eggs is good! :)

jemimafuddleduck · 18/12/2018 20:56

@Vikkidouglas thanks for asking, but it's a donor egg cycle so it was a donor who went through egg collection 😊

Vikkidouglas · 18/12/2018 21:03

Oh I see. Smile I hope it all goes well for you

womaninkent · 18/12/2018 21:30

@jemimafuddleduck that's great news, I have my fingers crossed for you.
@cornishmaid1 I agree that will come around very soon.

jemimafuddleduck · 19/12/2018 11:11

Call from the embryologist this morning - 8 out of the original 12 fertilised but 3 of those were abnormal. We are left with 5 top quality (AB grade) embryos today (day 2). The embryologist seemed positive and I guess it's a good number, but for some reason I feel a bit despondent?

tikha · 19/12/2018 15:40

@jemimafiddleduck 5 top quality embryo is very good. good luck going forward.

jemimafuddleduck · 19/12/2018 18:03

Thanks @tikha. I'm being silly, I know.

tikha · 20/12/2018 04:18

@jemimafuddleduck its hard not to feel overwhelmed at every step of the process.

jemimafuddleduck · 20/12/2018 11:24

The update today (day 3) is that we still have 5 top quality embryos 😁 transfer likely to be Saturday now.

I'm feeling much better today!
