Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

@positivethinkingrainbow I haven't taken the time off work. I'm slightly feeling my way as its my first cycle so if anyone has taken it off work I would be interested to know how you are getting along.

I'm not doing pineapple either. You hear so many contradictory things about virtually every remedy so I'm just trying to eat healthily, look after myself and not worry.

Best of luck!

Ginger951 · 30/01/2019 09:17

Good luck to all those collecting today! Let is know how you get on.
And sending lots of baby dust to all those in the 2ww!

Got my first stims scan on Friday, very nervous. Don't want to over stimulate. Already got a pretty constant ovarian ache, but at least it will all start happening soon.

Saltisford · 30/01/2019 10:56

Hi everyone - I had egg collection on a Friday and then had the weekend to recover which was needed due to strong cramps! My transfer was on a Wednesday and I had the rest of the day off as advised but went back in the next day. However, it was all too much for me emotionally and work sent me home and I had Thurs and Fri off. I’m glad I did in the end as I’m a teacher and my job is manic. I suppose it depends on what your job is and how much you want to rush about. I’m back in now which is ok because it is a good 2WW distraction.

Justwaitingforaline · 30/01/2019 13:20

Afternoon all! Just on my way home the hospital now, feeling a little battered and bruised but other than that, all is well! Egg collection took 40 minutes which is a lot longer than usual but understandable given how many follicles I had.

I’m very pleased to announce that they collected 28 eggs Smile. I’m going to go home now, drink my McDonald’s milkshake and watch crap TV. I’m actually very glad we’re having a FET done later instead of a fresh one because it means I can have all of the painkillers and no pessaries.

Hi, I've been following this thread for a bit as we are are going through our next round at the moment. I've been more nervous this time than last time in all honesty.

Had egg collection this morning, first in at 8.30am. Using bemfola at 450 due to AMH levels and issues with nit being able to get anymore from the sperm donor.

This morning; we ended up with 22 eggs this time so we've been told the transfer that was due on Monday won't happen and it's a freeze all as over 17 eggs were collected. So although I'm not over stimulated I'm at risk of it. Feeling a bit flat now as we weren't expecting it but understand the reasons.

It sounds like they get fertilised and we'll hear more tomorrow. Does anyone know if they take the embryos to blastocyst before freezing? Or do they freeze earlier? Just worried we don't understand enough about the frozen side. Our last round was fresh but we only had one that made it last time.

If it helps, our daughter was conceived successfully 9 months ago at IVI Midlands. On that's round we had 10 eggs, 6 fertilised and only 1 made it to Day 5 blastocyst. She was graded at a 3BD which I think is a medium grade embryo and we were so so lucky as she made it and is a healthy bundle of love!!! Just thought it was worth sharing that around grading of embryos. :)

Really hoping we get a couple to blastocyst.

Really hope all goes well for you on here. Fingers crossed for lots of babies!!

xxx

Good luck to everyone now in the tww.

My scan went fine on Monday and I took my first stims last night.

They weren't too bad (thanks to Mum's injecting skills) and I'm feeling okay bar a really bad taste in my mouth which I am putting down to the meds and some twinges, so hopefully the drugs are starting to work already.

womaninkent · 30/01/2019 14:21

@liona1990 they took ours to 5 day before freezing but that was on a transfer cycle-I don't know if its different on an all freezing cycle.

Justwaitingforaline · 30/01/2019 14:38

A little Update from the clinic.
14 have been given to my recipient, maturity will be checked etc then she can use those. The other 14 ( of which 12 are mature and usable) will be fertilised later today 😊

womaninkent · 30/01/2019 14:59

@justwaitingforaline great news, and what a great thing to do. I hope you're at home relaxing.

Positivity86 · 30/01/2019 15:06

Hi all. My egg collection went well and we got 10 eggs. I was a little disappointed at first because I've got high follicle count so was expecting a few more, but the the embryologist said it's always quality over quantity and to not get hung up on initial egg numbers too much! I feel better now and am at home resting.

@Justwaitingforaline and @LIONA1990 glad your egg collections also went well! @LIONA1990 love a success story so thanks for sharing 😊

LIONA1990 · 30/01/2019 15:08

@womaninkent Thank you! They are due to call us tomorrow morning to let us know how many eggs have fertilised so hopefully we can ask the question then.

@justwaitingforaline That's fabulous that they've let you know that! Amazing!!!

Fingers crossed!!!

Anyone know how quick we can go for the transfer if we aren't over stimulated? Just wondering? In theory MN should arrive on Monday but not sure.... we were on a long lead in....

LIONA1990 · 30/01/2019 15:10

@positivity86 it definately is quality!!! We had 10 and everyday our heart sunk but it ended up with a pregnancy! And we have a wonderful daughter!!! Fingers crossed for your eggs now!!! Xx

womaninkent · 30/01/2019 15:15

@positivity86 I agree with @liona1990 about quality not quantity. The nurse told me that someone recently had 3 collected and that worked. 10 is great!

Elly1685 · 30/01/2019 15:19

Hi all,

hope you don't mind if i join.

My story so far - I had egg collection back in april, had one Fresh transfer - BFN,

Had a FET in July - ended up a massive rollercoaster of emotions and got a BFP, but the clinic scanned at 8 weeks and it was an ectopic pregnancy. We've had to wait 3 months and I finally had my second FET yesterday.

On my first FET we had9 frosties - 4 failed the thaw and they managed to get one to transfer leaving us with 2 left.

We didn't hold out much hope that any of these 2 frosties would survive but the first one did and we still have 1 left in the freezer!

However, the emrbyologist rang us yesterday initally concerned it was deteriorating, then she rang and said it was fine. At the transfer they told us it had collapsed but they 'were going to transfer it anyway...'

Do you think that was just a poor choice of words from the embryologist? Do you think she meant it was fine to transfer and I'm just looking too negatively into it? I'm just so worried to get my hopes up that I might get a BFP this time, but also I'm so worried that the BFP might just be another ectopic anyway.

if there's anyone in their 2WW right now please let me know!!

Thanks everyone xx

Positivity86 · 30/01/2019 15:22

@LIONA1990 thank you! Best of luck for your eggs too x

Ginger951 · 30/01/2019 15:22

Well done @justwaitingforaline and @positivity86! They sound like great numbers, got everything crossed for you both!
@LIONA1990 thank you for sharing your story! Makes me feel like we all stand a chance.

Positivity86 · 30/01/2019 15:22

@womaninkent thank you! X

Rememberallball · 30/01/2019 16:46

HI @PositiveThinkingRainbow, we were in Cyprus or the first week after transfer and pretty much sat in our hotel doing very little but relaxing and putting my feet up!! We flew home to Heathrow on Thursday after getting our 7dpt blood results on Wednesday, we stayed at Heathrow overnight and then got a coach home to Cornwall on Friday - made it a long couple of days but was also better than a very late night and best part of 20 hours travelling in one go.

Since I’ve been home, I’ve been doing the washing and getting ready to go away again on Monday. Had more bloods yesterday (was late afternoon and results not back yet so I will get them in the morning) and just taking it easy.

I’m lucky, I don’t work at the moment by choice so didn’t need to plan time off work - having only relocated to the West Country back in November and wanted to concentrate on the IVF. With a positive result I won’t be looking for a job but have a friend who runs her own business so I can always do some admin or office cover for her!!

womaninkent · 30/01/2019 17:00

Hi @elly1685. Sorry to hear about your awful experience in July. I think I may have read about it on a different thread on here. Could you ring the clinic and get a better explanation about what collapsed means? I assume they wouldn't have transferred unless there was had a chance. I've got everything crossed for you that this is 'your' cycle.
Good luck!

Elly1685 · 30/01/2019 18:46

Thanks @womaninkent I'm hoping this is my cycle too ! yeah I was on another thread with some super ladies but I lost track of the thread and can't find it again !!!

I might ring the clinic tomorrow - I struggled to understand what the embryologist was saying!

Kay2705 · 30/01/2019 19:09

Hi @womaninkent deffo had cramps here like the pinching type which I didn't have before the transfer. I hope it's a good sign. 2dp5dt now.

@PostiveThinkingRainbow yay lol let's. had the day off for the embryo transfer but back to work as normal the next day! It helps as it keeps me active and mind off things.

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 31/01/2019 08:41

@kay2705 I had yesterday off to relax, I am back at work today. I work in a office so nothing to active, plus like you say keeps the mind busy.
I had abit of fresh blood this morning, when the consultant put the embryos in he did say that my cervix bleed slightly so not to worry if I do get a bit of blood so I hope it is just that.
I so wish we could have a little camera to see whats going on in there!!!

LIONA1990 · 31/01/2019 09:37

Can't quite believe it... 20 eggs out of the 22 have fertilised...

Can't quite believe it....

Back in tomorrow to check to see if I'm showing any OHSS signs but embryologist has said we've dobe really well so hoping to get a few good grade blastocysts. Told him our background on the last cycle just not getting too excited just yet but still blown away with the numbers!!!

Hope everyone else who had their egg collection gets good news too! :) xxx

womaninkent · 31/01/2019 10:13

Wow @liona1990. Amazing!

Rememberallball · 31/01/2019 10:16

That’s a fantastic ratio, @LIONA1990. Good luck for the next few days xx

I got my blood results from Tuesday (13dpt) back this morning. The clinic said they should be around 800 (at 7dpt they were 99) but, in fact, they’ve come back as 2,445!! I think he may have been right when he said it could well be a multiple pregnancy!!

Had today’s bloods done earlier so got to call again this afternoon and see if the results are back - if not they will be tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone is doing ok today. I didn’t feel any symptoms this morning so did a FRER and panicked myself thinking that the test line was feint compared to the control line - but had looked the wrong way round and it’s the control line that’s feint!! The CB Plus is the first test I did at the weekend.
