Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

positivity I’m actually doing okay! I’m more crampy today, a bit bloated but mainly in the evening and seeing lots but it’s nothing compared to how I thought this would all be!

Nordic sorry to hear your scan didn’t go as well as you had hoped - fingers crossed for wednesdays scan for you and lots of lovely follicles then. I also have a DD ( 4 ) and have to remind myself every day that I am blessed beyond belief to have her but I sympathise because there is still a whacking great hole in my life. DD came from a very abusive relationship and I feel robbed of my time with her because of the situation I was in. It’s painful that now I am married to a wonderful man, settled and happy that it won’t happen for us.

Nordicmom · 25/01/2019 16:36

Justwaiting I know what you mean about something missing feeling even when u already have a child . We have DS (14 on next tue ) that we had when young without problems then the nightmare started with multiple unexplained mc when he was 2 and illness as result of the treatment to that , moved into ivf and gestational surrogacy I was 36 when I did the second successful round in here and US because I couldn’t imagine continuing to live without finally having a second baby after 10 Mc . Word desperate isn’t enough . I’m grateful and happy about DD she’s my little double in her looks 😄 I like DS but I’ve forever wondered if I could carry another child myself . This time I feel sadness more than that desperation . I need to give it a good try so I can move on if it doesn’t work out .

womaninkent · 25/01/2019 19:07

@justwaitingforline and @positivity86 great numbers.

Sorry it didn’t go so well for you @nordicmom-hope everything picks up soon.

I totally know what you mean @brighteye3986-I definitely felt like my clinic were mainly interested in making my body work to their timetable.

Hopefully we doing transfer tomorrow morning (day 5). There were 10 still going strong at day 3 so keeping my fingers crossed that some of them will cling on to day 5.

Positivity86 · 25/01/2019 22:54

Good luck for tomorrow @womaninkent x

Justwaitingforaline · 26/01/2019 07:25

Fingers crossed for today womaninkent

Day 11 of stimms today and my god, my boobs are so sore and sensitive. DH gave me a cuddle this morning before work and I nearly cried.

womaninkent · 26/01/2019 10:13

Sorry to hear you’re feeling rough @justwaitingforaline.

Today went well. We had one grade A-B embryo which they’ve transferred. There were two grade B-B ones which they are going to freeze. Exciting times! Just putting my feet up.

Ginger951 · 26/01/2019 10:27

@brighteye3986 good to hear your scan went well!
I started my stims yesterday, they were really happy with everything so far.
I know what u mean about husband's, mine doesn't want any of my scans coming up to clash with his medical appointments(He is post op from two major ops over Christmas). Reckons we are paying so much that they can work around us. Haha not that it's my body demanding the schedule! Men!

@womeninkent fingers crossed for your transfer! Let us know how it goes.

Question for those further along. How long were you on stims for before collection?

brighteye3986 · 26/01/2019 10:33

That's great news @womaninkent. Good luck on your 2ww. Do you mind me asking where you are having your ivf done? I'm based in Kent too and am having mine done at Chelsfield Park.

@Ginger951 men! They really don't seem to understand at all.

ginger I’m on short protocol and will be stimming for 13 days days when I pull the trigger!

Positivity86 · 26/01/2019 11:57

@womaninkent great news! Wish you all the best for the 2 week wait.

@Ginger951 I will be the same, stimmimg for 13 days (currently day 11)

womaninkent · 26/01/2019 13:25

Thanks!

@ginger951 I was on the stims for 13 days too.

@brighteye3986 i’m at Chelsfield Park too!

brighteye3986 · 26/01/2019 14:12

@womaninkent oh that's nice to know! I know that there are limited clinics round this area that work with the NHS but anyone else I know that has been through it have been to CARE in Tunbridge Wells.

OP posts:
womaninkent · 26/01/2019 14:34

@brighteye3986 we got a choice of three from the NHS-CARE in Tunbridge Wells, Chelsfield and another one over in east Kent somewhere. We just picked the one closest to us but given all the going too and fro we’ve been doing it was the right decision!

Rememberallball · 26/01/2019 18:05

@Womaninkent, fantastic news you had a couple to freeze as well as one to transfer. Will keep everything crossed for you xx

Ginger951 · 26/01/2019 20:44

Need some advice.
Had my scan yesterday morning and I had some spotting after. Enough to need a liner but not a pad.
This evening I'm starting to ache more as well and the spotting hasn't stopped.
Should I be worried? Never had this happen before? I know spotting is a common side affect but 36 hours later? Or am I worrying over nothing?

womaninkent · 27/01/2019 10:17

@ginger951 i’m sure it’s fine but could you phone the clinic to put your mind at rest?

Ginger951 · 27/01/2019 11:53

I'm starting to wonder if I need to. It was my fault, a laughed whilst she was doing it and I felt a sharp pain at the time.
It started off as more of a reddy brown and then went pink and yesterday/last night it has been more red. Going brown again this morning but my lower back hurts, front aches but neither bad enough for painkillers. Just getting worried.

womaninkent · 27/01/2019 17:56

@ginger951 I phoned the clinic to ask a question that I later realised was a silly question (not that your question would be). They were very nice. I’m sure they’re totally used to us all freaking out! Hope you’re feeling better.

Good luck to everyone with scans etc tomorrow. @brighteye3986 I hope starting on the stims goes well tomorrow. I decided in the end that the gonal f needle wasn’t as bad as the buserelin needles so I’m sure you’ll be fine!

Nordicmom · 27/01/2019 18:20

I’m
Wondering about the amounts of meds I’ve been given since my response is slow so please tell me how much Menopure or Gonal F you guys have been using daily so i’ll get an idea ! I can’t remember anything from years back ...

brighteye3986 · 27/01/2019 18:26

Thanks @womaninkent. I've got used to the buserelin ones and now I've got to get used to the gonal f. Although I had an issue this morning with the buserelin and the needle made me bleed but was so painful trying the break the skin. I've not had an issue before only today. I managed to go it in the end though.

I hope you are feeling ok after transfer.

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 27/01/2019 18:35

@Nordicmom I'm on 225 Menopur. I hope things start picking up for you now that your meds have changed.

Justwaitingforaline · 27/01/2019 18:51

Nordic I’m on 225 of Gonal F ( I’m also using cetrotide)

Nordicmom · 27/01/2019 18:59

So I have now 225 Gonal F and 225 of Menopure since I think I was in both last time when we had DD and just Menopure 450 wasn’t working . What is your other drug ?

Nordicmom · 27/01/2019 19:05

I think they did say that Menopure has two things in it and Gonal F just one of them so now i’m then having more of one of them and less of the other . I know it’s because of my age I’m not responding like last time so far but am of course wondering if I will at all and can they boost the dose and how much longer will they stim until pulling the plug on this cycle ? On this wed when it’s been 2 w of stim it’s my next scan and I’m now dreading having the same result of nothing visible . Last two times it was about 2 w of stim on short protocol then retrieval but that was 6 1/2 y ago ...

womaninkent · 28/01/2019 08:27

Thanks @brighteye3986 I feel fine after the transfer. A bit tired from all the progesterone i’ve been taking but otherwise back to my old self.

@ginger951 hope you’re feeling better today

@nordicmom I was on 150 gonal F dropping to 100. I don’t think you can read too much into it-people seem to be on very different amounts and clinics seem to adjust the amounts all the time. I hope the new combination is making things move along for you!
