Hi there,

Anyone else doing IVF this month? I’ve had 2 weeks of Buserelin, and just started the oestrogen tablets today. I’ve never known time to go so slowly before. 😬😂

FET planned for end of August.

I’ve been a hormonal wreck. Got AF this weekend, plus all the extra hormones, and the other half doesn’t know what to do with me - or himself! Ha Ha.

Would be nice to connect with others going through IVF at the moment. x

Glad to hear you have lots of follicles Positive but sorry to hear about your OHSS risk. Do look after yourself and let the clinic guide you on whether a freeze all cycle is safer. Xxx

@Cariad2017 Nothing is ever boring is it!!! I am drinking water like a fish to try and keep the OHSS at bay ;)

Hi @PostiveThinkingRainbow do your best to not move! Apparently when lots of follicles are created in IVF they are more 'leaky' and moving around causes them to release the oestrogen - my levels got really high but since Monday afternoon I've basically took to my bed and it didn't develop into OHSS 😂 if I could send my husband to the bathroom for me I would but that's pretty much the only reason I've moved since other than to get more water!

@PostiveThinkingRainbow yeah! I don't have PCOS and I've not had any fluid in my abdomen but my oestrogen went to 21000 Monday! What's your trigger shot? They changed mine to Buserelin as it doesn't increase the risk of OHSS like some

@Cariad2017 great news that you're going for transfer Sunday, we'll have the TWW together hopefully as I'll be either Saturday or Monday depending on 3/5 day transfer.

@IVFaugust2018 thank you so much for the info, it makes sense now why the nurse who did the scan was hinting for to me to take time off wokr and relax.
I think I am going to book the whole week of work next week to give me time to relax and rest in hope to avoid the dreaded OHSS!!!! She also said that after my EC they will bring in for additional scans to keep an eye on things.

@@IVFaugust2018 the nurse as just phoned to say my oestrogen blood test came back as 10500?
So on Monday was 2500, Wednesday was 7470 and Today was 10500.
Was it the case with you it was 10000 on the friday and then 21000 by the monday for EC?

Hi @PostiveThinkingRainbow mine was 10,000 on the Saturday on 150 Menopur, reduced to 112.5 but still went up to 21,000 by the Monday. I didn't know this until the Monday though - they didn't breathe a word and I just carried on as usual and did nothing to try and help. It was on the Monday that they told me how high it was and that I was at risk of OHSS. Fingers crossed 🤞for you x

@PostiveThinkingRainbow I triggered Monday night and EC Wednesday - they made the decision that I could have a fresh on Wednesday once they'd done the collection as there was only 12 and I didn't have any fluid. My oestrogen hasn't been checked again

@PostiveThinkingRainbow one other thing, I was told that to have a better chance of having good, mature eggs that you need to eat lots of protein - if it looks like you've got lots of follicles then this is probably even more important as I understand that they prefer less than 10 eggs per cycle as the quality is then usually better. Happy eating!😋

@CatRen27 I received a letter today to let me know the other embryo didn't make it! I'm really gutted as I found the injections and ec quite horrid to be honest so really hope I don't have to go through that again! Let alone the cost again too!

Jinxed myself earlier as I am really feeling the pressure now!

I've just had the call, we're going to wait until Monday for the transfer. All 9 have survived so far, with 4 looking exactly how they should for day 3 so they can't pick a clear front runner from them today. They will culture them all to blastocyst - they use the time lapse to watch them develop to make it easier to pick a good one at blastocyst apparently so I've cancelled my mother in law coming to watch my son and will just enjoy the weekend before the dreaded TWW starting next week!

IVFAugust - Yay for day 5 transfers. I really hope lots of your embryos make it to blastocyst phase so that you have some that you can freeze, particularly given how ill you ended up being. I hope you manage a restful weekend.

I’ve been at work all morning, followed by acupuncture and am now en route home to start packing for our holiday, before finishing off some more work! Really hope tomorrow ends up being a bit more restful...

@sophie I'm just tracking and waiting for my FET transfer maybe end of this week or early next. First set of bloods tomorrow. I just want to get moving!

Thank you for your kind messages CatRen and IVFAugust.

Of our 6 day 3 embryos, 2 had made it to blastocyst, 2 are at the cavitating morula stage (and so they’re going to let them go to day 6 to see if they make it to blastocyst phase and 2 have arrested.

The two blastocysts were graded 5BB and 3BB (6AA is the best), so we’ve had the 5BB put back in and will freeze the 3BB. They’ll call me tomorrow to let me know how the other two are still doing. Not brilliant, but not terrible either and I’m glad it’s over for now.

Test day will be 2 weeks after egg collection (so a week on Tuesday, although as we’ll be on holiday and I can’t drink/ use the hot tube etc whilst PUPO I’m tempted to test a day early).

@cariad!! Sooooo exciting, i really really hope this is it for you! Love the pupo status, please please keep us updated 🤞🤞🤞

Have you decided what you're going to do about testing? My instinct is to leave it until the test day as I have a pathological fear of pregnancy tests from 3 years of unsuccessfully TTC, but would it be kinder to myself to have some time to gradually accept that it's not worked? I don't know! I think if I'm going to test early I should start from tomorrow to test out the trigger, but I just can't make up my mind if I want to do this to myself. I hate taking pregnancy tests 😱

IVFAugust - I’ll probably test a week today but the reality is that if I’m not peeing like a racehorse by then, I’ll pretty much know that I’m out anyway...

IVFAugust - Dis your trigger contain HCG?

P.s. Good luck for your call this morning. I’m waiting for a call shortly to let me know what became of my other two embryos, although I have to confess that I’m not holding out much hope.

So I'll probably do my transfer end of next week (not this week), I didn't realise I have to wait until 5dpo for the transfer. Makes sense so I'm surprised i hadn't realised! More waiting... gahhh

CatRen - that all makes perfect sense. Exciting times though and in the greater scheme of things 10/12 days isn’t that long. You’ll be PUPO before you know it! 💕💕
