Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

@Peanut1980 glad you’re feeling better today and have sorted things out with DH 😊

For me this week it’s my first official scan tomorrow - I’m very nervous and have convinced myself that it’s all gone wrong since the impromptu scan I had last Wednesday 😔

Peanut1980 · 04/11/2018 09:24

@crittertamer you’ve had such great results all pregnancy apart from the OHSS. I’m sure tomorrow will go really well. I’ll be thinking of you and your twinnies tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

I’ve got a terrible headache and feel sick but I think the sickness is from my headache. I have a tutor for my son and she’s keeping him entertained for an hour while I put my feet up. Hubby is off to watch the football today and will be gone alllllllllllllll day as his Dad wants to take him out for lunch first. Nice for some!

CritterTamer · 04/11/2018 09:47

@Peanut1980 - glad you’re getting some time to yourself to relax 😊 you have my sympathies with the nausea - I pretty much have it constantly now to some degree or other, together with light headed ness and general exhaustion. I had to call in sick at work on Friday after hardly any sleep and horrific vomiting early in the morning - to be honest i still feel just as bad and have no idea how I’m going to manage work this week - can’t afford to keep being off sick though so going to have to try!

Peanut1980 · 04/11/2018 09:59

That sounds rough @crittertamer. You can get pills from the Dr to help with sickness if it’s taking over your life. Do you like ginger? Ginger nut biscuits or crystallised ginger from a health shop are meant to be good for pregnancy sickness/nausea x

CritterTamer · 04/11/2018 13:54

@Peanut1980 - yes I have some ginger nut biscuits in - sometimes they are all I can face eating 😊 I can’t believe how much weight I’ve lost in the last 2 weeks to be honest - it’s a bit scary. I lost just over 3 stone earlier this year to get my BMI down to a nice healthy 23 ready for the IVF. It was weight I’d put on over the past 2 miserable years in a horribly stressful job that I hated so was glad to have motivation to get it off. Now though parts of me are starting to look positively boney and all my clothes look stupidly baggy - I’m a bit worried that this is a bad time to lose so much weight but I just can’t eat properly at the moment. Are you experiencing anything like this?

LopeyLopez · 04/11/2018 18:43

Spotting has started for me now. Always the beginning of the end. Still lots of painful cramping too. Absolutely gutted that another cycle has failed. Not looking forward to keeping it together at work tomorrow...

PinkFootedGoose · 04/11/2018 18:55

@LopeyLopez really really sorry to hear that. I'm hoping for you that it's just spotting though I know that's not very reassuring. Is there any way you can call in sick tomorrow? Really doesn't feel right that you should have to go in. Look after yourself xx

Peanut1980 · 04/11/2018 19:09

@lopeylopez I’m so sorry to hear the spotting has started. Do you think it’s def AF? Could you maybe call in sick tomorrow. Sending you a huge hug xxxx

ParksAndRecreation · 04/11/2018 19:24

Oh @lopeylopez - I hope it’s not AF. Take the day off tomorrow, don’t try and put yourself through it. Sending love and luck x

CritterTamer · 04/11/2018 21:15

@Lopeylopez i’m really hoping it’s just some spotting and not AF arriving - fingers are tightly crossed.for you 🤞 please take the day off work if you need to xxx

Trying2bemum · 04/11/2018 21:47

Holding your hand lopey and sending you lots of love xxx

Peanut1980 · 05/11/2018 10:22

@crittertamer good luck for your scan this morning xxx

CritterTamer · 05/11/2018 13:24

Thank you @Peanut1980 - it’s not until later this afternoon though.

Thinking of you @Lopeylopez - hope you’re ok today xxx

CritterTamer · 05/11/2018 13:27

@Trying2bemum - is it transfer day for you today? I really hope it goes well for you xxx

CritterTamer · 06/11/2018 06:06

Scan yesterday went well. 2 heartbeats that even i could see this time, both measuring 6 weeks 4 days 😊 still a lot of fluid from the OHSS but it’s starting to decrease which is great. They want to scan again on Friday and if it’s still getting better then I’ll be able to stop the nasty painful clexane injections - hooray!

Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

LopeyLopez · 06/11/2018 06:36

Thanks for all your kind words guys. This thread has been a great support during the most horrible time of my life. I'll be retiring from mumsnet for a while to decide what to do. Still feel broken hearted at the moment which is actually physically painful; just trying to keep it together for everything else in my life and waiting for the worst to pass so I can think straight and decide what to do next.

Very best of luck to everyone and hope you get all the babies you deserve xxx

Peanut1980 · 06/11/2018 06:51

@lopeylopez I’m so sorry to hear of your pain. I’ve been thinking of you. I wish you all the best for the future xxxx

Peanut1980 · 06/11/2018 06:53

@crittertamer great news on your scan. Pleased to hear the twinnies are doing well at the OHSS is starting to pass 😘

CritterTamer · 06/11/2018 07:38

@Lopeylopez I’m so sorry this hasn’t worked out for you. I hope you can take some time to yourself and decide what your next steps are. I wish you all the luck in the world, whatever those next steps may be. Xxx

ParksAndRecreation · 06/11/2018 07:57

@lopeylopez I’m gutted for you. I hope you manage to find a way through this x

FingersXssd83 · 06/11/2018 08:17

Sorry to hear your news @LopeyLopez Sending you love and I hope that time will help you heal. This is such a hard journey. Take care of yourself xxx

Cariad2017 · 06/11/2018 09:03

Sorry to hear your news LopeyLopez. IVF can be such a cruel lottery. Look after yourself my lovely. Taking some time out sounds like a very sensible idea. As Critter mentioned, wishing you all the luck in the world whatever you decide to do next.

Peanut1980 · 06/11/2018 10:35

I just went for another internal scan and still no heartbeat. I should be 7 weeks today but still measuring 6 weeks. Same as Friday. I think this is over for my little bean 💔💔💔 I have another scan at the clinic on Friday and will just wait for them to confirm it’s not viable and advise on next steps. Broken...

CritterTamer · 06/11/2018 11:18

Oh no @Peanut1980 I don't know what to say that must be awful news to get! I assume it's not yet definite as they want to scan you again in a few days so there still might be some hope?

I can't imagine how you must be feeling I think that's all of our biggest fear. Please look after yourself and I will be keeping everything crossed that you get better news on Friday xxxxxx

Peanut1980 · 06/11/2018 11:51

Thanks @crittertamer. It hasn’t been confirmed for definite but I’m pretty certain. The very few symptoms I had have now completely gone. I’ve called the clinic and am waiting to hear back from them. I don’t think they’ll see me before the next scan on Friday. It’s the being in limboland that’s tough. If it’s over then I’d rather just get things moving and stop taking all these supplements and progestorone. I’m just very sad right now 😢😢😢
