Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

Pulled the trigger tonight girls, all fine. Will be nice to have a day off jabs tomorrow x

Peanut1980 · 30/10/2018 06:55

@tryingtobemum eek that’s exciting! So egg collection on Wednesday?

Does anyone else have a transfer or egg collection this week?

FingersXssd83 · 30/10/2018 09:04

I had my 5 day transfer yesterday @Peanut1980 They gave us a photo of our embie but we didn't get to see anything on ultrasound as my uterus was hiding. Was a bit disappointed that we didn't get an ultra sound guided transfer as I've read that this improves outcomes. Now in the horrible TWW and we'll find out this morning if our other embie is good enough to freeze as they let it go another day xx

Peanut1980 · 30/10/2018 09:41

@fingersxsss83 oh that’s amazing. It feels so nice to have one transferred. Hope that little embie is making itself at home right now 🤞🙏🤞🙏😘

I’m back at the gym today. I usually go four times a week but haven’t been for the past 6 weeks. It’s driven me INSANE! it really helps my mood and my asthma. Only taking it easy and doing low impact stuff but it feels good to be back 😁😁😁 I know we’re not meant to go swimming but my son has a lesson tonight and we usually muck about in the pool before hand. He’s really missing that. So I’m going to call my clinic today to see if they think it’s safe to get back in the pool 🤞

Peanut1980 · 30/10/2018 10:16

Just spoke to the clinic and not allowed back swimming yet. Have my scan on Friday 🤞🙏🤞🙏 Getting all anxious about that. I had a dream about it last night. Trying to be positive about it but sometimes the mind wanders... 🙈

PinkFootedGoose · 30/10/2018 10:47

@peanut1980 Interesting! Do they give a rationale? My clinic said no swimming for 7 days after transfer.. I went for a dip in the Lido at the weekend, now I feel bad!

Peanut1980 · 30/10/2018 11:01

@pinkfootedgoose I have no idea why. I’ve read online that other places allow it a lot sooner. I think they’re just being extra cautious. I’ve told my son I’m going with him next week so I need to make that happen xx

Peanut1980 · 31/10/2018 07:40

@tryingtobemum good luck for your egg collection today. Let us know how you get on xxx 😘🙏🤞🙏😘

Dia12 · 31/10/2018 08:20

Congrats on your transfer @fingersxssd83 - welcome to the tww 🙈 The consultants and nurses are so efficient at transfers im sure they could do them in the dark!

Good luck with EC @trying2bemum! Hope you get lots of healthy mature eggs. 🤞

I was told swimming carries a risk of infection and so should be avoided @peanut1980. I agree, they are probably being extra cautious but I’d rather not put it to the test!

I’ve had a really difficult few days and not sure when it will get easier - my tests are still really faint, unusually so, for 15dp5dt. However, today’s test does seem a tiny bit darker than yesterday’s 🤯 I don’t know what to think. It’s just so cruel. I’m waiting for the call from clinic with my blood results.

Now I looking at that photo and they look like pathetic evaporation lines!

Peanut1980 · 31/10/2018 09:47

@dia12 no they don’t look like evap lines. They look good to me! I’m feeling confident that you’re going to get good results today 😘😘😘

CritterTamer · 31/10/2018 10:19

Good luck @Dia12! I'm so hoping for a good result for you xxx

I'm just back from the clinic who wanted to scan me again as I've had a tough couple of days with the ohss.

They've just confirmed a twin pregnancy! Two yolk sacs with fetuses each measuring a perfect 6 weeks and two fluttery heartbeats. I'm in total shock to be honest- sitting here in work unable to focus on a thing!

Dia12 · 31/10/2018 10:29

Oh how amazing @crittertamer! 💕 super happy for you. Enjoy the wonderful news! xx

Peanut1980 · 31/10/2018 10:46

@crittertamer oh my gooodddd! That’s the most amazing news! Yay twinnies 😍 I’m so happy for you 😘😘😘

Peanut1980 · 31/10/2018 10:47

@crittertamer did you manage to get any photos of the scan?

CritterTamer · 31/10/2018 10:51

I do have a print out from the u/s machine - I'll try to take a photo and post it when I get home from work.

LopeyLopez · 31/10/2018 12:09

Wow amazing news @CritterTamer !! Remind me, did you have two day 5 blasts transferred? Did they tell you if they were early / expanding etc? Sorry, just stressing about these things now and in google overdrive as per most tww's....

I can imagine you can't concentrate at work!!! 😂😍

@Dia12 keep fingers crossed, all looking good so far xxx

CritterTamer · 31/10/2018 12:22

@Lopeylopez we had 2 hatching 5AA blasts put back on day 5. Lining was 12mm and had also had endo scratch and acupuncture the day before transfer.

LopeyLopez · 31/10/2018 12:36

Wow those are exceptional stats @CritterTamer . My lining is fine but I just have to hope for those two little morulas of mine....hope they are still fighting on in there!! 🤞💪🍀

Trying2bemum · 31/10/2018 12:42

@CritterTamer that is absolutely magical, many congratulations x x x

Fingers crossed for you @Dia12 I'm sorry you have this worry and hope all progresses well

Had egg collection this morning, we got eleven eggs. It's one less than last time, was hoping for a few more but it is what it is. Hopefully they're good quality and makes some good embryos.

They found a small endometrial cyst on my right ovary which is a bit of a worry. Never had anything like that before. Am wondering if that's got anything to do with not being able to conceive. We're unexplained so far.

Back home on the sofa anyway and taking it very easy with another cup of tea xxx

AniSL · 31/10/2018 12:57

Crittertamer thats amazing, congratulations

LopeyLopez · 31/10/2018 13:17

Great number, well done @Trying2bemum 👍

CritterTamer · 31/10/2018 13:26

Great news @Trying2bemum - 11 eggs is great. I only had 12 collected and it seems I’ve ended up with twins and 2 other good quality embies in the freezer too!

CritterTamer · 31/10/2018 13:29

Scan photos for those interested. One shows both pregnancy sacs and the other is a close up of one of them, the white part in the round yolk part is the baby 😁

CritterTamer · 31/10/2018 13:30

Oh and the huge blob in the bottom half of the second photo is my poor massive, swollen ovary 😢
