@Viletta thank you. I think that's most sensible. Often you don't end up home until 10pm for a variety of reasons so I think better to have it later.

I'm still suffering from really bad bouts of diarrhea. I don't have a BM 3-4 days then it comes and it's very painful.. Has anyone else had this with the buserlerin? It's very weird. I've never had this before (this often) I stop those injections tonight so I will see how I get on. Horrid thing to have at work!

@ginandtonicformeplease great idea.

HJ82 · 04/07/2018 16:03

@HappyHedgehog247 welcome. I think we will have egg collection at the same time. :)

Gavinmaxine1 · 04/07/2018 17:14

Jesus lord above. Had woman consult today. So lovely. Positioned me with stirrups. Seen right & left ones grew massively. Will take from left first then attempt to go through womb wall to try get right one to get alreast one. My emotion through the roof! Mental torture. So back in Friday morning for procedure xx

Gavinmaxine1 · 04/07/2018 17:15

Hope Everyone doing well. It's so tough on us .. but hopefully all worth it in the end xxxx

HJ82 · 04/07/2018 17:27

@Gavinmaxine1 excellent news!!

Maiarindell1 · 04/07/2018 17:59

@HJ82 I’ve had a dodgy stomach whilst on 50units of buserilin, was fine on 20 units. I have IBS so I wasn’t sure if it was stress that had caused upset stomach or the drugs! I have my baseline scan on Friday, hopefully they will drop me back down to 20 to start stimms as you’re right it’s a real pain at work! @Gavinmaxine1 - that’s sounds promising - good luck for Friday!

Beherenow32 · 04/07/2018 21:28

Upset my DH earlier, saying I didn’t think this had worked. I was getting cramps in my back. I have waves of feeling too things
It’s just so hard to believe that this could work after a few failures. But need to remember that it does work!!!!
Hope everyone is ok. Sounds like better news @Gavinmaxine1 😊

Viletta · 04/07/2018 21:47

@Gavinmaxine1 great news!!! Congratulation, this is a win for today!

@Beherenow32 I also told DH today that I have a feeling it’s not working. Although it’s too early to tell. Silly. I don’t want to disappoint anybody if this doesn’t happen.

Since I started stims I can’t stop eating. It’s just psychological comfort eating. Should stop really, I gained at least 3 kg...

Viletta · 04/07/2018 21:52

@HJ82 I’ve heard it’s a good idea to take any medicine just before going to bed, I’ve heard this reduces any possible side effects

Gavinmaxine1 · 04/07/2018 22:09

@Viletta @Beherenow32 oh I been eating like a champion lol.. Awk it's normal to feel like that.. subconsciously preparing for the worst so you're not disappointed.. so so hard this whole thing xx

cannonball8726 · 04/07/2018 22:09

Woohoo. Period is here. Although yesterday I cancelled scan that was meant to be this morning as period wasn't here. Baseline scan now on Friday and will hopefully start stims then. Finally . Long protocol really takes the poss.

Exercise-wise I think I'll keep going to the gym at beginning of stims if I feel up to it as well. If I don't feel okay then I'll just go walking on Hampstead Heath :) I hate not exercising!!!!!

@HJ82 glad scan was okay and you've started stims! I plan to do my stims before bed - that is what clinic advised too.

@Maiarindell I have my baseline scan on Friday too! Fingers crossed...

@ginandtonicplease well done on distraction! Good plan.

@beherenow32 hope you're holding up okay. The emotions are understandable :( what a truly stressful and tense time. Are you using mindful IVF app?

@gavinmaxine1 great! That's positive news :) fingers crossed for next day.

@Villetta hope you're keeping yourself busy during 2WW! I'm dreading the weight gain that's about to come! Any tips on minimising it, ladies? Or is it basically inevitable?

cannonball8726 · 04/07/2018 22:10

Long protocol really takes the piss, even!

Gavinmaxine1 · 05/07/2018 04:40

@cannonball8726 I had flare protocol.. 4 weeks start to finish.. it's wild!!
Anyone experiencing sleeplessness?? It's warm at night too but swear I'm getting 4 hours a night atm. Driving me insane.. thankfully il off for 8 days after ec & et.. no more stims now so pray sleep gets back to normal.

LopeyLopez · 05/07/2018 06:53

Hi all, I am now two days passed embryo transfer and need to catch up with everything that's been happening on this thread! It was a very emotional time and I also found myself on two different threads with not enough time of energy to keep up with both!!

One embryo of dubious quality was transferred (only very early blastocyst or cavitating morula) as that's all I had left on day 5. Desperately trying to stay positive.

I'm at work and busy all through the tww so at least that should help. Good luck to all those at various stages x

Gavinmaxine1 · 05/07/2018 07:14

@LopeyLopez oh congrats!!! Say wee prayer 🙏🏼 xx

Viletta · 05/07/2018 09:05

@LopeyLopez congratulations on your transfer! Good luck fx

Beherenow32 · 05/07/2018 09:42

@LopeyLopez it’s really hard going! I’m at the end of my 2ww and not feeling any better about it 😪 all the best to you! Xx

HJ82 · 05/07/2018 16:11

@cannonball8726 I'm going to continue swimming and cycling for about 5 days then lay off all exercise.

@LopeyLopez this is good! many only make it to day 3 no? my friend transferred 2 day 3'rs that were very average and one stuck beautifully. I am hopeful for you. Positive thoughts!

Weirdly, the clinic said i only need bloods on day 4 of stims. But UCLH said i need bloods and scan. hmm. Can one skip the day 4 scan and just have the day 6 one? I doubt there would be much to see on day 4 anyway...
I might give them a call to query this. Any advice?

Also, those pesky little vials you have to crack the glass in half. What the? I smashed two. Glass everywhere. 3rd time was even tricky. Fiddly business.

LopeyLopez · 05/07/2018 18:23

@Viletta my transfer buddy (!); our numbers were the same and we both received our only remaining embryo....! Hope we are both lucky! 🤞

@HJ82 thanks, I am trying to stay positive. I only had one scan, on day 9, during the whole protocol, and never any bloods...?! Are they just really keen to watch your response very carefully?

@Beherenow32 You are doing so well, hang on in there. It really is an emotional rollercoaster. I am getting every symptom under the sun and trying my best to ignore them, because to be fair in every tww during ttc naturally I had ALL the symptoms every month, yet was never pregnant...!

LopeyLopez · 05/07/2018 18:30

Oh and yeah @HJ82 I broke some of those vials so badly when the glass snapped at a weird angle....I always managed to still use the contents but the glass splattering everywhere was not good....

I am totally off exercise apart from walking (which I have to do a fair bit of, maybe average of 13000 steps a day, for work, so not too bad). I am too scared to run. Acupuncturist said I need to keep my womb "calm"?!?!?!! I did read about elevated temp and heart rate not being ideal in the early weeks of pregnancy, though, and it is soooo hot at the moment.....

I do miss exercise. I was so into my running the last few months. I'm worried I'll lose my fitness and get fat and lazy again...! Swimming sounds good (if more of a hassle and more expensive); I will have to look into doing that instead....

HJ82 · 05/07/2018 18:31

@LopeyLopez I thought it was normal for scans and bloods every 3-5 days. I guess some clinics are different. I'm on 225 of manopour / bemfola daily. I only got 9 follies -had 15 6 months ago 😥 fertility cliff at 35! It's real. So they're stimulating me lots. I guess the blood for oestrogen at day 3 will tell me if my dose is too high or not.

ginandtonicformeplease · 05/07/2018 19:54

The clinic told me to test on day 11 of the 2WW - it's just occurred to me that they didn't tell me whether day 1 was day of transfer or the day after?

Gavinmaxine1 · 05/07/2018 21:14

@HJ82 I had 3 scans & bloods 3 days in a row..

@ginandtonicformeplease maybe don't count transfer day just to b sure .. I can't remember what they told me last year

HappyHedgehog247 · 05/07/2018 21:36

@HJ82 great to know someone is on the same timeline

@cannonball78 I take my hat off to anyone that has to do the long protocol. I feel rubbish when I am downregging and so grateful it's only short

@ginandtonicformeplease I think transfer day is day 0

Hope everyone is doing ok. I had acupuncture today which was lovely as got a quick nap in while there!

LopeyLopez · 05/07/2018 21:41

@HJ82, I guess it does depend on the clinic....I think mine were quite minimalist with the single scan, no bloods and then not even looking at the embryos from Day 1 til Day5...!???! Maybe because it's my first time? They were quite clinical and matter of fact but to be honest I liked it that way. There was the option to ask questions if I wanted to but mostly I was just a bit in shock / numb at each phone call, so I let it wash over me and just went with the flow / what they said...

I wouldn't stress about the fertility cliff at 35 yet....I am 38 so much more stressed by this point. I try not to think about it...
