We went private too. We were waiting for first appointment at NHS clinic and went for CRGH because it was convenient location for both of us and had good success rates. It has been pretty expensive but we have used savings and found them to be very good. If this pregnancy doesn't work out I think I would go back to CRGH for FET- it is cheaper than fresh cycle. And the success rates are better than the NHS clinic I was referred to. But it is pretty scary to think about how much money we've spent. I got a Virgin air miles card before starting IVF as i knew we'd be spending loads and thought we should at least get something out of it- we've accumulated so many air miles already...

Best of luck for tomorrow @tigerlily99 xxx

How are you doing @HJ82, @maiarindell and @viletta? Congrats on being PUPO, @tikha!

@cannonball8726 I’m doing ok thanks, feeling quite bloated but otherwise ok. I can’t wait for the scan as I’m so bloody impatient! Mine’s on the 29th, when is yours? How are you doing?

I know most of you are celebrating being pregnant (which is awesome!!) but for those who have had a failed cycle before what was your period like? I'm so confused. It came, it hurt for 5hrs (usually I'm in agony for days) I had some black and a bit of red and some of the lining in chunks (sorry tmi) this is a new thing for me... happened last cycle. 🙄 But now it's just stopped. Usually I have regular light red flow. Am I just on pause? Is it coming back? Lol. It's bizarre. I'm still waiting for the epic flow from hell with accompanied vomiting.

Hey @maiarindell I still have some boobs and getting the odd twinge/cramp in my abdomen. Otherwise okay. I am 5+1 today (you must be similar) and starting to feel a bit anxious - which I guess is normal. Scan is on 21st August when I'll be 6+5. Had bHCG on Tuesday which was fine.Have you done any repeat home preg tests? I did two FRERs day before and day of OTD. Wondering if I should do a clearblue to tell me I'm 3+ weeks...

*sore boobs even

That sounds bizarre @HJ82. When did it come on?

HJ82 · 10/08/2018 12:23

@cannonball8726 yesterday. Nothing today. Zilch.

I was just expecting a mega period. My friend who just froze her eggs said after that her AF was horrendous. I expected mine to be worse than that and I've been growing my lining etc

HJ82 · 10/08/2018 12:26

I'm wondering whether it's blocked up there. Haha. Can that even happen? If noting comes today I think I'll see dr

My clinic said to expect a period within around 7 days after OTD - so it will most likely show its face within the next few days :( I hope it's not too awful. Dark chocolate and hot water bottle for the win xxx

Any sign, @HJ82? How are you doing?

Report

HJ82 · 11/08/2018 15:00

@cannonball8726 it's already been. Very strange. Light a few clots and mainly brown tbh. Not normal at all. But also not as heavy as my usual and only pains for a few hrs. Unless it's coming back then that was it.

Report

cannonball8726 · 11/08/2018 15:08

That is odd. Do you have any cramps?

Report

HJ82 · 11/08/2018 15:50

@cannonball8726 only during first day a few hrs. Before any flow really. I expected a lot as well as heavy flow with all the drugs making my lining thick. It was normal btw not too thick. Around 9-10mm I'm not surprised by anything my body does now 😂 I was that person who had perfect painless periods until I decided to try for a baby. The universe is doing everything it can to prevent this it seems. Hope you're feeling ok!! Thinking of you all and your scans coming up. Hope everything goes perfectly for you xx

Thanks so much @HJ82. I hope you're doing okay. Have you and your partner thought about whether you'll cycle again?

Question.. when do people test for an FET. My clinic is doing a beta 11 days after... They gave me pregnyl 5000 units on day 1 of transfer so not sure how long that will take to go out of the system and if that will give a false positive. I haven't really tested yet because of the pregnyl.

Report

cannonball8726 · 13/08/2018 10:46

Hey @tikha I'm not sure. @tigerlily99 did a FET though x

Report

Viletta · 14/08/2018 00:28

@HJ82 so sorry for your bfn. mine was very painful, as I was being stabbed. Very heavy, very red but just for 2-3 days, then brown for another 5 and very light. I’ve heard second af after failed cycle can be painful as well. I’m expecting it any day now and again this sharp pain.. also after all the treatment and stress af seems to be irregular. Hope you are not too down, they say failed cycle teaches what to change next time for better result

HJ82 · 14/08/2018 09:43

@Viletta it was weird, the easiest AF I've had in 3 years. Like my endo scars decided not to flare at all. Which was good! @cannonball8726 I'm ok. Through this whole process you asses your life that's for sure. Ivf takes a good 4 months of natural trying time which is unsettling but we have another round available to us so I'd be mad not to take it. All my family are 13000 miles away and living here has prob made me a bit of an emotional train wreck here and there. It's quite stressful and challenging. Can't be helping my chances. There is nothing really wrong with us fertility wise, we are just unlucky. I think my eggs might be a bit dodgy though. I guess each month that good egg has just failed to come through.

Just to say I got a BFP at my beta. Decided to wait till the test. Really feel numb at the moment especially with the multiple failures in the background.. So will wait and see.. Its such a lottery even going forward.

@HJ82 i totally get being far away from home.. I don't really know that many people where I am currently as I have been sent overseas for work. So its nice to be able to speak with people online. Good luck with the next cycle of IVF. It really only takes one. We were only left with that one embie from one egg...

@tikha- came on to see how you are doing and found your amazing news! Congrats!!!!! Like you say each stage feels like such a lottery but you might as well enjoy each positive otherwise it will just grind you down. xx

@viletta and @HJ82- hope all going well your side, any thoughts on when you might cycle again? X

Not sure.. we don’t have the money and are in debts.. DH thinks it’s all not worth the hassle .. he thinks his poor sperm will not produce an embryo and doesn’t believe anything will help it.. fatalistic..
