BFP after IVF: any other nervous ladies in need of a handhold?

I've had my BFP after our first FET and in a bit of a state analysing symptoms/lack of symptoms. Had two losses prior to starting IVF so really can't get my head round what might be normal or not. Clinic will scan me at six weeks, but that is two very long weeks away! Anyone else in a similar position? xxx

Thank you Smile Yes fingers crossed it is a good sign indeed. Grrr I’m so mad with myself for being so miserable and moany. It’s not like me at all. Need to suck it up and get myself together! 💪 🤢 😝

wombats · 08/04/2018 13:04

Aw, it's just the hormones Rational. Be gentle with yourself, your body is making a wee baby Smile Always okay to moan here. Fingers crossed for you tomorrow xxx

@TryingToStayRational moan away, I think we all will at some point because it's been one hell of a journey xxx

Afternoon everyone, just catching up and yes Becky that’s exactly how I feel, completely exhausted from worry and stress!! Actually so much so I got up yesterday and had a real word with myself and decided I wasn’t going to worry about symptoms/non symptoms and enjoy my day, and i had a really lovely day. It hasn’t worked so well today but hey! I’m just gonna relax now and enjoy my Sunday afternoon.

79Karen · 08/04/2018 15:12

And good luck for your scan tomorrow Rational

Decafplease · 08/04/2018 15:34

rational moan away! This is our safe space for all the moaning we cant do elsewhere
Its a strange phase. The only time i dont feel anxious is when i’m nauseous- constantly either freaking out & or 🤢. Yet, at same time feel incredibly lucky to have got this far, and guilty for complaining about anything after longing for this for so many years! So want to get to when my belly sticks out, i can put on a ‘baby on board’ badge and not give a shit who knows. 😀
Good luck for your scan tomorrow.
bruges hope you enjoyed your hokiday. becky and karen, if you find a trick to deal with anxiety, tell me too 😀. dame hope you can rest & work from Home this coming week. wombats do you have another scan planned?
Hi to anyone ive missed out. Have a relaxing Sunday evening. X

becky114 · 09/04/2018 07:11

Decafplease · 09/04/2018 15:00

I’ve had yet another bleeding episode. Heading home to laydown & hope it stops. Clinic will do another scan tomorrow. Never expected being pregnant would be so terrifing.

becky114 · 09/04/2018 15:17

@Decafplease I'm so sorry you must be feeling so stressed. Are you in any pain? Xxx

Decafplease · 09/04/2018 15:20

Just some mild cramps. But still feeling nauseous so hoping thats a good sign.

TryingToStayRational · 09/04/2018 16:05

Phew, everything’s fine. Blob with heartbeat in uterus. Measuring 6w1d apparently whereas I thought I was 7wks today (I put my egg collection date in one of those calculator things) but they said it was all ok. Next scan 24th. Got my booking appointment the same day.
Feeling v relieved.

TryingToStayRational · 09/04/2018 16:23

@Decafplease so sorry I didn’t see your message before I posted mine. I do hope you’re ok. I’m so sorry you’re having such a stressful time with the bleeding. Hope there is reassuring news for you tomorrow Flowers

Decafplease · 09/04/2018 16:32

rational yeah! Wonderful you got to see the heartbeat! X

79Karen · 09/04/2018 18:15

Sorry to hear about the bleed decaf I hope it’s settled down this afternoon? Sounds like your clinic are very good with scans though so hopefully tomorrow will provide some reassurance. Great news on the scan rational it must have been amazing to see your little blob with a heartbeat

Bruges21 · 09/04/2018 19:19

Decaf hope you're at home resting, I'm so sorry you're having to go through this stress again. I hope the scan tomorrow is reassuring.

Congratulations on your scan Rational, must be amazing to see the heartbeat. I get incredibly nervous just thinking about going for the scan, still 2 weeks to go.

wombats · 09/04/2018 20:01

Decaf, hope your rest has slowed the bleeding. Am I right in thinking you've got another scan this week?

Rational, congrats on the scan, must be incredible to see the heartbeat. How's the nausea and your meetings?

Bruges, glad you've had a nice week away. 2 weeks until scan feels like forever...any symptoms now?

Karen, love your attitude! I've been trying to be as positive but can't quite manage it every day Blush

Dame, Becky, how are you today?

I'm still knackered, nipples feel like they're on fire! Bit of nausea today and almost sick after eating dinner, hope this is a good sign. Positive thoughts to all xxx

Thanks all! It was great to see. So relieved that’s another hurdle cleared.

Nausea is still awful but meetings went ok. I’m going to attempt a trip to the office tomorrow. Think I need to push myself on a bit cos I can’t spend months at home just because I feel queasy. Obviously if I get worse I’ll have to rethink but hopefully I can manage to get to a meeting 3 hours train ride away on Weds - eek!

Decafplease · 10/04/2018 13:04

Hi! Glad to report scan shows everything fine, we even got to hear heartbeat! No idea still what’s causing the bleeds. Have been told to go home & rest and try not to worry.
X

TryingToStayRational · 10/04/2018 13:21

Great news, Decaf! Bless you, it must be so hard not to worry. Hope all of this is soon in the past for you and you can enjoy being pregnant. Take care

becky114 · 10/04/2018 13:39

Awwww @Decafplease this is such good news!!!!! Sooo happy and relived for you xxxx

I feel a bit unwell today have a little cough, another headache, nausea and has anyone else experienced diarrhoea? Sorry to be explicit but I am finding that I have to be really careful what I eat, have had it 3 mornings now. Sounds stupid but can it be a pregnancy sign?

Xxxx

DameSylvieKrin · 10/04/2018 15:33

Wonderful news about your scans, Decaf and Rational!
Becky, I have heard that diarrhoea can be a pregnancy symptom. I’m more troubled in the other direction at the moment.
I had my 12 week scan and nipt (panorama) today. Everything looks fine, unbelievably, but I’ll need to wait 10–14 days for the results. It’s kind of sad but even though I’m glad and very lucky to get this far I don’t feel any emotional connection with the baby. I’m hoping that changes if the screening results are clear. It isn’t clear which sex yet but apparently a girl is more likely than a boy. I’m glad not to know until the results are in.

TryingToStayRational · 10/04/2018 17:20

Glad your scan was all good Dame. Fingers crossed for your results. I’m looking at NIPT as well at the mo. There seem to be so many options! Was there anything that made you choose Panorama over the others?

becky are you still on progesterone? My clinic said that can cause diarrhoea. Hope you feel better soon

DameSylvieKrin · 10/04/2018 19:00

Yes, we chose the Panorama because you can do it earlier (although we didn’t because I was too ill to go so rescheduled) and because of the extended panel that they introduced a few months ago. The microdeletions they test for are very rare but for another 200 quid it seemed worth it. Last time we did the Harmony. It’s a lot of money but doing a few rounds of IVF makes it seem like a bargain.
Off-topic, the disclaimer they make you sign includes the fact that the test won’t work if the parents are related Hmm

DameSylvieKrin · 10/04/2018 19:03

Oh and the other reason we only considered panorama or harmony was because I really like a particular antenatal centre and they only offer those two. Otherwise there is plenty of competition.
There’s a very new one from Spain (Neobona?) that was a little cheaper. I was supposed to be there last week so was going to do it but was too ill to fly in the end.

Bruges21 · 10/04/2018 20:01

Glad your scan went well Dame. I know what you mean about feeling detached. I think it's self preservation for us all after so much sadness and disappointment in the past. I hope you get good news on the NIPT results and that helps start to feel a bit better about things. I think the panorama test costs £400 around here. If I get that far we'll probably go for it, think I've lost all concept of money by now!

Decaf so pleased to hear about your scan too.

Had two long days at work so feeling pretty tired now. Feeling a bit nauseous in mornings and burping alot! Few random cramps too. Keep thinking the worst but just got to wait and hope!
