BFP after IVF: any other nervous ladies in need of a handhold?

I've had my BFP after our first FET and in a bit of a state analysing symptoms/lack of symptoms. Had two losses prior to starting IVF so really can't get my head round what might be normal or not. Clinic will scan me at six weeks, but that is two very long weeks away! Anyone else in a similar position? xxx

I've downloaded the baby centre app and it's quite informative just remember to put the date of your last period in as the date 2 weeks prior to egg collection.

Beherenow32 · 29/07/2018 16:03

@TheArtfulScreamer I was looking at that one. Think I’ll go for it, thanks! Xx

Itonlytakesone · 29/07/2018 19:56

@Beherenow32
Think Iv a baby centre app too it says pregnancy + on now it's on my phone and is pink. Has a countdown on and images of how the embryo would look at this stage. Pretty cool!

Beherenow32 · 29/07/2018 21:24

Aww. Love the little bumpie gallery 😍

TheArtfulScreamer · 29/07/2018 22:21

I've not added a picture to that yet as my bump is just fat and gas 😂

Hi don't forget to pop to your Gp reception and fill out the quick form for your free Nhs maternity exception certificate form.

This entitles you to free Nhs prescriptions & dental care for 2 years. Ive just received my card in the post this morning after filling in the form last week. Smile

Beherenow32 · 30/07/2018 11:36

@Itonlytakesone ok, thanks! I thought this would get done with midwife.. my appointment is in a week xx

ginandtonicformeplease · 30/07/2018 12:10

@Beherenow32 @TheArtfulScreamer Glad your scans went well - I've got mine on Wednesday morning, really nervous. DH has decided to come after all, and apologised for saying it was a waste of time and too expensive for him to come. I want him there more for if there are any problems than in case everything is fine!

I had my appt with the healthcare assistant at the GP's this morning and it was a complete waste of time, but the only way that you can get referred to the midwife round here. Do I smoke, drink, was the pregnancy planned, and a couple of other pointless questions after waiting over half an hour for her to actually see me. I've had so much time off for various appointments that I'm half expecting a warning from work.

Beherenow32 · 30/07/2018 12:14

@ginandtonicformeplease good luck for you scan. It’s so amazing once you see it. So nice to hear that your DH is coming. I cried at mine and couldn’t imagine being on my own. And any pregnancy absence can’t be held against you. So, they can’t give you any warnings!! They have to let you go.

Going to book for a 10 week scan. Not sure if that’s obsessive 😂 Friday feels like it was ages ago already x

ginandtonicformeplease · 30/07/2018 16:10

@Beherenow32 I haven't told them at work and wasn't planning to for quite a while - I've only been there for two months!

Beherenow32 · 30/07/2018 17:04

@ginandtonicformeplease oh. I see. That’s tricky! X

Itonlytakesone · 30/07/2018 17:58

@ginandtonicformeplease
I'm sure when you tell them your work will be understanding give the circumstances. At least you've got that referral though. I changed my midwife appointment to a Sunday to fit better with df job, it's hard juggling with work.

@Beherenow32
I'll be having a 10 week scan too as I'm probably getting the Nipt blood test (I'm being overly cautious!)

Is anyone else suffering indigestion? Iv just started to get it and Iv never had it in my life.! Bought some Gaviscon so just tonight had my first dose to see if it helps. Pregnancy symptoms i guess!

Beherenow32 · 30/07/2018 18:21

@Itonlytakesone I had a little acid reflux. I’m just feeling sick alllll the time. Serves me right for complaining that I didn’t feel sick! I remember my pregnant friends having big bottles of gaviscon and drinking from the bottle.

I had to text my manager because she started talking about my symptoms/ how I felt in front of other people 😬 had to say I don’t want everyone knowing yet!!

So excited for the 10 weeks scan. I want to do everything! 4d scan, newborn photo shoots etc 😂 xx

TheArtfulScreamer · 30/07/2018 18:51

@ginandtonic glad to hear your DH is accompanying you to your scan I was very emotional at mine and couldn't imagine doing it alone. Good luck for Wed x

Beherenow32 · 31/07/2018 20:46

@ginandtonicformeplease good luck for you scan. I know it’s very worrying beforehand.

Felt extremely sick this morning- then not so bad this afternoon. But I didn’t stop eating. Now feel like my belly could burst.

Booked my 10 week scan, but feeling a little silly. Because we will get a scan 2 weeks after. Hmm.. maybe im just hormonal.
Xx

ginandtonicformeplease · 31/07/2018 23:14

Thanks @Beherenow32 I'm really nervous. So nervous that I ate a big bag of maltesers.

Itonlytakesone · 01/08/2018 14:23

@ginandtonicformeplease
How was your scan? It's a week today until mine..yes I'm still waiting for mine! Hmm

ginandtonicformeplease · 01/08/2018 18:11

@Itonlytakesone I've been trying not to think about the scan all day today! I had it first thing, and could hear the heart beat but it's smaller than it should be - apparently it's the size it should be at week 6, not week 7. They want me back for another scan next week. I really don't know what to think about it - they told me not to worry but of course I'm going to worry!

Beherenow32 · 01/08/2018 18:34

@ginandtonicformeplease sorry to hear that the scan didn’t go straight forward. I hope you’re not waiting too long for a scan, and that the little one catches up xxx

Itonlytakesone · 01/08/2018 18:39

@ginandtonicformeplease
I completely understand why you would be worried even though they told you not to - easier said than done.
Maybe the embryos develop differently, the fact that there was a heartbeat is very encouraging, you've got a little fighter in there, it just needs more time! Smile

TheArtfulScreamer · 01/08/2018 19:05

I've read on other forums about how they can measure a week out at this stage as the embryos are so small and the images so fuzzy that it's hard to get accurate measurements so given that there's a heartbeat I'm sure next week's scan will show your little one catching up xx

ginandtonicformeplease · 01/08/2018 19:44

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, it's difficult to know how not to worry. I purposely haven't googled anything as I don't want to read a load of horror stories and get myself upset. Unfortunately my next scan is the one day next week that DH couldn't do because of work, so it'll just be me.

I'm not feeling that great this evening but I'm putting that down to the heat on the tube - it was disgusting. I'm staying down in London for work tonight but I can't wait to go home to the sticks for fresh air and DH tomorrow!

ginandtonicformeplease · 01/08/2018 21:27

I gave in and googled and really wish I hadn't. Several articles by doctors saying it's an early sign of miscarriage.

Itonlytakesone · 01/08/2018 22:40

@ginandtonicformeplease

You heard a heartbeat & that is crucial. The scans can show all different sizes depending on the clinic. It's too early yet. 8 weeks i guess is a more definite time to scan some clinics won't do it any earlier like mine. Give it time, don't google and if you do check a thread on here about real people and their success stories. I really hope next week is more promising for you. Try not to worry just eat well and let nature decide. You never know what might happen Smile

Beherenow32 · 01/08/2018 23:35

@ginandtonicformeplease keep in mind that little heartbeat ❤️
Google is not good for this, although I know you will be desperate to find positive stories.
Take care xxx
