BFP after IVF: any other nervous ladies in need of a handhold?

I've had my BFP after our first FET and in a bit of a state analysing symptoms/lack of symptoms. Had two losses prior to starting IVF so really can't get my head round what might be normal or not. Clinic will scan me at six weeks, but that is two very long weeks away! Anyone else in a similar position? xxx

@physicskate amazing news! How are you feeling? Allowing yourself to feel excited now?

@Itonlytakesone I think anything can be a pregnancy symptom! As long as you’re not in too much pain.
I’m dreading tomorrow. I have this contstant horrible feeling in my stomach. But think it’s more nerves.
Your scan is a week later than mine is. Mines is at 7 weeks..

Hope you’re ok xx

Itonlytakesone · 26/07/2018 13:47

@Beherenow32 @physicskate
I'm ok now, I think I'm completely paranoid I'm trying to relax and not overthink but it's easier said than done.

I'm not sure why I'm being scanned so late ..8 weeks for my ivf hospital scan and my midwife appointment came through the post and that is at 9 weeks? I feel like Iv got a looooong wait for all mine! At least i can see how you guys are getting on while I'm waiting! Big day for you tomorrow Smile

Kitkat369 · 26/07/2018 15:16

Hi congratulations on your bfps. I’m yet to start journey and wondering if to nhs self fund or go private. Could I ask which clinic you used? Being 40 so looking fir clinic with better success rate in London

ginandtonicformeplease · 26/07/2018 16:05

I tried to arrange an appointment with the obstetric neurologist yesterday, first I could get was 23rd August! A quick google told me there are two specialists in London and one in Belfast and that's it for the UK!!! No wonder they're busy. Luckily his secretary called back just now and he's had a cancellation on Tuesday so I'm in then! I'm at my desk but feel like singing and dancing 💃

@Itonlytakesone I'm completely paranoid too, you're not alone! DH is getting rather fed up of my constant what ifs. My nausea was awful on Monday but has completely gone now so I'm more paranoid than ever.

@Beherenow32 Good luck with your scan tomorrow, I think you're a week ahead of me. I've got mine next Wednesday at 7 weeks.

Beherenow32 · 26/07/2018 17:45

Thanks for the well wishes. Home early from work as really unwell with the heat again.
No sickness really, unless I’m hungry, and in the middle of the night. But I’m definately not myself. Feel rough!

@ginandtonicformeplease great news about the appointment. Hope you get the support you need.

@Itonlytakesone looks like we’re all paranoid together! 🤗

@Kitkat369 hi. I can’t really help. I had treatment in Scotland. So, no where near London!
Xx

Itonlytakesone · 26/07/2018 20:26

@Kitkat369
I had my treatment up North in Liverpool area so can't help either sorry. Have you had the initial investigations done?

I did another test today (4 now!) 🙊 it was bfp, shock 😂 nice clean strong pink lines though are always nice to see!

@Beherenow32
Would you take some more time off? I'm extending my sick note after last weeks cramps (it scared me) Iv rested it's eased loads so hospital orders! This seems to be a very critical time at 6 weeks the heart is beating! I'm fascinated by everything.

@ginandtonicformeplease
You must be thrilled to get a cancellation brilliant 👍🏻

Beherenow32 · 26/07/2018 20:39

@Itonlytakesone that’s good that you’re taking the time that you need.
If I get worse, then I’ll need to be off. But I think I’m going to ask to change my hours. So that I’m not working 10 hour days.
Even though I’m still quite busy at work, I’m doing so much less than usual! Not done housework for about a week too.

Really hoping everything is ok tomorrow. 😬😬 xx

physicskate · 26/07/2018 21:22

@Kitkat369 I'm not anywhere near London. Age isn't on your side, as you know. The nhs will likely make you jump through hoops (they did for me for a year).

I suppose it depends how long you've been ttc, the reason for ivf and how far into the tests/ process you are...

Janefx40 · 26/07/2018 21:43

Hi @Kitkat369 I'm an ex user of this group but saw your post. I went to ARGC for my first cycle and then to an MHS cycle at Guy’s second time. I was nearly 41 when I started. ARGC are super thorough and I liked them, Guy's weren't great but somehow it worked there anyway. Truth is that it can work anywhere (or not)

CRGH are the other clinic with good results for our age - bit less overkill than ARGC. We just didn't take to them as much.

pM me for more info. Don't want to hog this group.

Good luck ladies. Those first few weeks are hellish. It does get (slightly) easier.

@Beherenow32 good luck tomorrow xxx

Kitkat369 · 26/07/2018 21:56

Thanks, we’ve been trying for 11mths, had all tests but no alarms. Been on clomid 50 but nada. We are thinking of using local nhs hospital which is self funded but a part of me is thinking private too

Beherenow32 · 27/07/2018 07:44

@Janefx40 thank you 💗

@TheArtfulScreamer it’s your scan today too, isn’t it? All the best!

Xx

Itonlytakesone · 27/07/2018 08:39

Friday has arrived.. Good luck with your scans!

@Beherenow32 @TheArtfulScreamer Smile

Beherenow32 · 27/07/2018 11:21

That’s me discharged from the fertility clinic! Scan went well and saw the heartbeat! So relieved.

Good luck for all other scans when they finally come! 💗 xx

Itonlytakesone · 27/07/2018 11:28

@Beherenow32
Ahh that's brilliant congratulations ❤️ you must be so pleased well done xx

TheArtfulScreamer · 27/07/2018 12:01

@behere snap me to baby all present and correct with a heartbeat. I was terrified this morning and stomache felt sick with nerves. I've also got a bit of brown spotting for the first time so that hasn't helped but lady who scanned me said it's nothing to worry about. I've been given an EDD of the 17th March.

Itonlytakesone · 27/07/2018 12:28

@TheArtfulScreamer

Ah congratulations too! Brilliant another little heartbeat so gorgeous ❤️ you must be so pleased too, not long until my scan i just hope I'm as lucky as you guys xx

Beherenow32 · 27/07/2018 15:22

@TheArtfulScreamer brilliant! 😄 I’m due 15th March. Feeling rough, but happy! Xx

Itonlytakesone · 27/07/2018 16:01

Aww within 2 days of each other! Brilliant 😊I think mine Edd will be very close too I'll let you know!
@Beherenow32 @TheArtfulScreamer

TheArtfulScreamer · 27/07/2018 16:35

I don't feel to bad a bit tired from time to time and I'm bloated and gassy much to my DH disgust at times but other than that I feel normal. I'm hoping after all the trouble I had getting to this point it's my turn for an easy ride. I've my booking in appt next week and hopefully my next scan will be towards the end of next month. @behere were you as sappy as me and did you cry with relief when they said their was a heartbeat.

Beherenow32 · 27/07/2018 18:47

@TheArtfulScreamer as soon as the doctor said congratulations- there’s the heartbeat. I cried my eyes out! And cried when me and DH were on our own.
My app is the 6th, and 12 weeks scan 29th... might go for a cheeky 10 week scan....

Honestly, have to eat rubbish every 2 hours, or I feel sick. Oh well! 😊 xx

Beherenow32 · 29/07/2018 07:31

How is everyone? Is anyone else feeling proper pregnant now? This little baby is starting to make me feel ill! Of course I am so grateful for that. Just now sure how I will cope with daily life! Lol
@Itonlytakesone when is your scan again?? Xx

Barcelo18 · 29/07/2018 09:28

Lovely to pop back on and see some lovely positive news from a lot of people. I have my 20 week scan on Tuesday and am hoping to find out what we are having. I had my midwife visit a couple of weeks ago and she just wanted to know how many bedrooms we had and spoke about feeding and sleeping options for the baby. This will be our first baby and i am planning on attending some nct antenatal classes. Has anyone else attended these? Are they worth it ?

Itonlytakesone · 29/07/2018 12:57

@Beherenow32
My scan is a week on Wednesday so I'm excited and nervous about this! Hoping for good news and a heartbeat would be emotional definitely. I felt a bit sickly yesterday but not too bad but I'm really struggling on the healthy food 😬had a weekend off i needed nice food!

@Barcelo18
Ah lovely your 20week scan so exciting to see what sex you are having. It's my first pregnancy so not sure on antenatal classes unfortunately, good luck for your scan on Tuesday let us all know how you get on Smile,

Janefx40 · 29/07/2018 12:59

Hi @Barcelo18 congrats on getting to 20 weeks and good luck with the scan and sex reveal! I'm 15+3 and have booked into NCT.

We have another group on pregnancy boards for IVFers a bit further along. PM me if you want to join. A poster on there who had an older child described it as "middle class speed dating for parents." She said it was a bit brainwashy re "no pain relief" "must breast feed" but also useful and they have lots of lasting friendships from there.

Congrats to those of you who had good scans this week!!!

X

Beherenow32 · 29/07/2018 15:28

@Itonlytakesone very exciting!
Has anyone downloaded a good pregnancy app? Not sure whether to yet. X
