BFP after IVF: any other nervous ladies in need of a handhold?

I've had my BFP after our first FET and in a bit of a state analysing symptoms/lack of symptoms. Had two losses prior to starting IVF so really can't get my head round what might be normal or not. Clinic will scan me at six weeks, but that is two very long weeks away! Anyone else in a similar position? xxx

Garden centre and nice dinner sounds a good plan Becky, hope it helps you to relax. My scan is early afternoon.

Yes rational hearing the first 10 seconds of the London marathon theme tune was enough to set me off this morning, glad to hear it's not just me!

Decafplease · 22/04/2018 10:56

becky, bruges I am a total mess before every scan, so totally get the anxiety. Do your best to keep distracted and relaxed. Hoping you both get good news tomorrow . X
Am watching the marathon too, but keep thinking, we here are on our own private marathons! Just need to concentrate on one stage at a time. Its a cheezy image, but helping me today.

wombats · 22/04/2018 21:17

Becky and Bruges, I also noticed my symptoms come and go, try not to worry too much if something stops or starts. I had massive scanxiety, too, and almost cancelled the appointment I was so worried! Will be sending loads of good thoughts to you both.

Decaf, thanks for sharing the marathon image, must remember to pace myself. Also trying to remember that all this worry won't change anything so might as well try to relax a bit. Easier said than done, of course!

Had a lovely day in the sun, hardly ever drink but quite wished I could have a Pimm's! Also saw a dear mate's lovely 2.5 year old. Was the first time in ages I'd felt positive being around a wee one, which was brilliant, as for so long I've just felt sad as I thought it wouldn't come true for us...fingers crossed we make it there this time. Sending good thoughts to all xxx

I’m also someone who cries at the drop of a hat but I’ve been much worse since being pregnant. I made the mistake of watching the end of season 7 of Call the Midwife and cried for days even just thinking of it. If you’ve never watched it, now is not the time to start!
Thinking of Becky and Bruges this morning; I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. The chance of you getting good news today must be much higher than the chance of getting bad news!

wombats · 23/04/2018 08:14

Crossing everything for @becky and @bruges today xxx

Morning ladies,

Karen – I am so sorry to hear your completely unfair and heartbreaking news.
I’m so sorry this round wasn’t successful for you. Look after yourself and we will be here for you when you need us x

Decaf – Congrats on the scan. Hopefully you will have a much-needed few relaxing worry-free weeks .

Dame – Congrats on the baby boy. So exciting!

Wombats – Yay! Congrats on a the brilliant scan news. So happy for you.

Bruges and Becky – Good luck for the scans today. Have everything crossed for you x

I too was welling up at the marathon yesterday but pretty sure I cry at that every year so not sure I can blame pregnancy for that one. My scanxiety is huge as well. I woke up in the night to go the loo and my boobs weren’t sore and had period style aches. Couple that with my nausea abating and I am freaking out (again!)

becky114 · 23/04/2018 12:00

We have a heartbeat 💗 when I saw it I just burst into tears 😭 😂 They are going to give me another scan in a couple weeks to, to put my mind at ease xxxx

Decafplease · 23/04/2018 12:03

That’s brilliant becky! So happy for you!
Hope bruges checks in with happy news too soon.
X

That’s brilliant, becky - am so pleased for you Smile

Bruges21 · 23/04/2018 15:05

Brilliant news Becky, so pleased for you!

And was good news here too. Nice heartbeat seen, measuring 8w2d so one day ahead! Was such a relief, we were both crying, just couldn't believe it after all this time.

Know we're not out of the woods yet but just going to try to relax and enjoy for a few days. Thanks so much for everyone's kind thoughts and words of encouragement this morning Smile

Daisy1980a · 23/04/2018 15:27

Congratulations Bruges, that's wonderful news! So happy for you. Definitely try and relax now for a few days. x

Fantastic news, Bruges! Enjoy that lovely feeling of relief! 😊

wombats · 23/04/2018 16:52

Fab news, bruges! If you have a heartbeat at 8 weeks, chance of miscarriage less than 2%, I believe. Enjoy this happy day xxx

Scan fine, baby wriggling. Measured 8w5d. Also had booking appt this morning which was fine but took TWO HOURS!! The leaflet said about an hour! 😆

Anyway am massively relieved and will sleep a lot better tonight I’m sure. Desperately wanted a ham and pineapple pizza so grabbed one from Tesco and it is in the oven now as I drool!

Hope everyone else had a good day Smile

becky114 · 24/04/2018 18:16

@TryingToStayRational that's wonderful news hunni. So happy for you, can't believe you saw wriggling!!!!! What was your appointment? I have my first appointment with the midwife on Friday. Does anyone know what they do on the first appointment?

My day did not go as intended. I have had on and off breathlessness since I found out I was pregnant. Well this morning I starting spitting up a load of blood and this has never happened to me before. My GP saw me straight away which I was super impressed with and I had to go hospital for tests which I thought was a bit of an over reaction. Anyways tests were fine just a burst blood vessel because of this damn cough I have had forever. The doctor told me they are extra careful in pregnancy because there is a higher risk of pulmonary embolism. It's a good job tests came back normal because I would have refused an x Ray xxx

TryingToStayRational · 24/04/2018 18:31

Bless you, becky - what a stress. I’m so glad the tests came back ok. Good that you were checked out so quickly.

My appointment was my booking with the midwife. It was mostly masses of paperwork plus some bloods.

DameSylvieKrin · 24/04/2018 18:54

Congratulations, Rational!
Hope the cough clears up soon, Becky, what a nasty scare.

Decafplease · 24/04/2018 20:19

Congrats rational!
What a scary experience becky! Glad it wasn’t anything more serious.

wombats · 24/04/2018 21:03

Congrats rational, incredible to see your bean wriggling! Enjoy the pizza Smile

Becky, how frightening, glad it's just a blood vessel and that your GP could see you so quickly.

I haven't had a midwife appointment yet, was told I would continue under consultant led care because of IVF, anyone else heard that?

How is everyone else? Any more scans this week?
