Hi everyone im completely new to this forum
Would love somewhere to talk to women understand my postion and have advice or are going through the same as us.

We have just done 4 cycles of fertility medication 2 cycles with clomid & 2 cycles letrozole, clomid completely unsuccessful & made my womb lining too thin & letrozole first round unsuccessful 2 round which im currently on cycle day 16 folicles bigger than last month but not as big as they would hope & womb lining thickened up but not as much as they like, we have to wait until cycle day 30 to see if i either get pregnant or have a period & if neither we have to ring up & make an appointment for an ivf consultation! Im absolutely terrified! I have pcos & had a hycosy in march which showed my tubes were fine & husband had a sperm test last year & all is fine with him but i presume he will have to do another? This is all so daunting is anyone else at the same stage as me? Im almost certain i havnt ovulated this month absolutely no signs of it so i do believe ivf is something we have to face. Sorry for the ramble & thank you for reading. P.s should have metioned we have had all our treatment at countess of chester and i cant speak highly enough they are wonderful! Our gynecologists is mr haddad

Mrsallenxo · 15/10/2019 23:29

Also forgot to post we've also been treated and scanned by karen woodcock & simon wood & they were both fantastic too!

wanab · 16/10/2019 07:26

Afraid I can’t comment on the clomid etc as I went straight to Ivf. I’ve mostly been under mr Haddad too, but prefer the others. I know someone who found that the hormones were making her lining too thin so after a freeze all and attempting a couple of medicated FET’s she’s now on her 2ww on a natural FET and her lining got thicker than the medicated ones in which she never made it to transfer. X

Hi ladies, hope you are all doing ok. Update from me; I had the ERA, EMMA and ALICE test last Friday, waiting on the results which could take up to three weeks. It hurt like hell! In the meantime I've booked a last minute holiday to Tenerife. I've not drank for 7 months but since this is the first time I'm going to be medication free and intend to have a blow out! xx

wanab · 19/10/2019 18:08

Hope it shows something helpful @PennyBC26. I'm 9 weeks now and been discharged.

PennyBC26 · 20/10/2019 10:38

@wanab Wow, 9 weeks! That's great! Hope you are keeping well xx

wanab · 20/10/2019 17:11

Btw the clinic is changing to be under Care fertility and Mr Haddad is semi retiring. X

PennyBC26 · 20/10/2019 22:00

I'd heard it was going under Care. I saw him in passing but he hasn't been my doctor, he seems quite flamboyant!!xx

wanab · 21/10/2019 07:38

That’s one word for him. He’s never been by favourite. Mr wood is more positive and explains things better.

PennyBC26 · 01/11/2019 13:20

Hi ladies, just an update from me...got the results from the ERA, ALICE and EMMA test...everything is normal, typical. I was convinced something would show up which would explain my two failed transfers. We have one frozen embryo left so going to go for it again in January. Just hope it works! Hope you are all doing well xx

wanab · 02/11/2019 12:49

Oh that's annoying. Sorry hun. Hopefully your last one is your take home miracle.

wanab · 11/11/2019 00:52

Unfortunately my little angel grew its wings this evening.

Matilda128 · 11/11/2019 10:36

I am so sorry to hear this. This must be so awful for you. All my best wishes for this difficult time. Xxx

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 11/11/2019 18:06

I'm so sorry @wanab - I really am.

I'm here if you want to talk/message - anytime xx

PennyBC26 · 11/11/2019 20:18

@wanab Oh I am so sorry to hear this. Sending you lots of love. You are in my thoughts and prayers xxxx

PennyBC26 · 14/11/2019 19:45

@wanab Just passing by to let you know I am thinking of you xx

wanab · 14/11/2019 23:05

Oddly I’ve found it not much worse than a negative on OTD. I think I was prepared for it and I guess i’m just as invested in newly transferred embryos. It may just be my faith and the number of people praying for and supporting me but I’ve felt relatively peaceful throughout. Yes it’s hard, and yes there’s been lots of tears, but i’m now focusing on looking ahead and went back to work on Wednesday to keep busy and get back to normality. I can’t really explain it. Everyone’s calling me brave, but maybe it’s just how I cope and loss is becoming such a repetitive part of the journey perhaps i’m finding it easier to cope after each one now. Have rung the clinic to try and get a follow up early December. Although unconfirmed I believe it actually started out as twins.

Matilda128 · 15/11/2019 12:11

You sound really strong. I hope your follow up appointment will be soon and will be helpful- allowing you to continue to look ahead and going forward. I had my FET on Monday but at the moment it is not looking positive. It really is a tough road xxx

PennyBC26 · 15/11/2019 19:46

@wanab I haven't had a BFP yet but I know what you mean about the repetitiveness of feeling a loss after a failed transfer. I too have found my faith to be a great comfort although sometimes also a challenge! Keeping busy at work certainly keeps my mind off it throughout the day. @Matilda128 Sorry to hear that you don't think it is looking positive. Oh ladies, we'll get there one day!xx

Matilda128 · 18/11/2019 15:12

I hope everyone is doing ok. Just to ask a question: Did anyone ever correspond with the clinic (especially the consultants) via email? I’m not asking for anyone to post an email address on here but I was just wondering if anyone has found an easier way to contact the clinic without having to go through the nurse’s office. When I attended the information evening there was a consultant from a different location who handed his email to the people under his care. I was wondering if at the Countess they help people via email as well so I can feel confident to ask for an address at the next consultation.

wanab · 18/11/2019 18:25

Have only ever done it via phone I'm afraid.

Matilda128 · 18/11/2019 19:22

Thanks @wanab. I'm trying to arrange a follow-up appointment but find it hard to get it sorted. Hope you are ok xxx

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 19/11/2019 06:03

I've only gone through the phone as well. It can't hurt can it?
Are you finding the phones difficult? They have a policy of never picking up (well my calls 😂) but do tend to call back within an hour or so.

Good Luck!
