@PennyBC26 why the lubion injections/pessaries? Ween do you take these? I have cyclogest after the egg collection.

That’s not good is it, it’s like positive that there’s nothing wrong per Sae but then rubbish that there’s nothing you can do to improve your chances.

It’s just a waiting game for me. Well done ok the foods, my diet and alcohol intake isn’t good I’ve not really changed my regime which probably doesn’t help. But the empty follicle syndrome is just a shock to my system.

Yeah definitely it’s like a numbers game unfortunately but amazing you got seven fertilised and two frozen so that’s amazing!!!!

I’ve been taking soooo many supplements since my review. Including DHEA X x x

crisps88 · 30/06/2019 21:13

@PennyBC26 my AMH is 12.1. X x x

wanab · 30/06/2019 23:00

@crisps88 cyclogest is the pessaries, but I believe they are changing all protocols to lubion injections instead now. It’s meant to be a more effective form of progesterone.

PennyBC26 · 01/07/2019 20:09

@crisps88 Yes, my consultant said what @wanab mentioned, the lubion are meant to be more effective. I think I take it a few days before FET and then after. I should get my treatment schedule in the next few days so will let you know more about the treatment then. I found out today that it will most likely be the 15th July when I start the buserelin. Not looking forward to the side effects! I'm a teacher so glad I have nearly finished work so hopefully the side effects will kick in when I'm off! Yes, I take loads of supplements too. I was taking DHEA before egg collection but was told to stop them after. I think they really helped me get my eggs though. I've not drank since March, I've been on Becks Blue and non alcoholic gin. I just wish there was a magic food or ingredient we could all take to make it work!xx

crisps88 · 01/07/2019 22:15

@PennyBC26. How come you changed to buserelin from meriofert and cetrotide? Did you say the buserelin has bad side effects?

I had my baseline scan today and they have found a small cyst by/on my Fallopian tube. The consultant rang me later on and said to continue with the plan of starting injections on Wednesday and I have a day 5 scan next Monday and they’ll monitor it then.

Yeah it’s crazy I literally take 18 pills a day, soo many. Royal jelly (2) ubiliqol (3) NAC (1) dhea (3) and then 9 other vitamins, minerals, beta Cardone , omega 3 etc. I started these after my first failed cycle I’m so hoping they've made a difference. I appreciate no amount of pills can make up for a poor diet and alcohol intake. Youve done really well since March that’s fantastic well done!

@wanab how are you feeling this weekend? Any better/worse/the same?

wanab · 01/07/2019 23:37

Not too bad. It’s been a little more restful at least. Will be glad when Wednesday is out the way! X

crisps88 · 06/07/2019 06:59

@wanab how did Wednesday go? Or is it next Wednesday? @PennyBC26 how you doing lovely? X

PennyBC26 · 06/07/2019 10:33

Hi ladies! How are you both? Yes, it is buserelin, don't know why though and I never thought to ask. I just assumed that the meds were different because I wasn't prepping for egg collection and it was a frozen cycle. I'm preparing myself mentally for menopausal symptoms! I'll be glad to finish work in 3 weeks and a half so I can go in hiding and have hot flushes without everyone seeing! Still waiting for the treatment schedule to arrive in the post, it's taking it's time!xx

wanab · 06/07/2019 11:38

Hi both. Yes buserelin is used for the medicated FETS as you don’t need to stimulate your ovaries to produce eggs. They just switch off your ovaries, you have a bleed so it’s nice and thin, then thicken it with progynova before starting the (now) lubion injections to support pregnancy.

My results on Wednesday showed I have ultra low good bacteria in my womb etc so I am going to be on vaginal probiotics as soon as they arrive in the post. You can only really get the ones they suggested from abroad but I found one box in uk that was more expensive but went for it to get them quicker. Cost me £40 but i’m glad the test showed something to make it worthwhile and that it's easily treatable. X

crisps88 · 06/07/2019 16:20

@wanab that’s good that you got some results isn’t it, and something definitive you can treat and move on from. Do they think this has prevented things from working? How long do you have to take these for or do you have another test after it? You are so knowledgeable about the medicines! Thanks for sharing your info.

@PennyBC26 that’s true, think you just do what they say when and why. Oooh do you think you’ll have the bad side effects of the meds? Yes half term is always a breather, try not to take too much home ! If possible! What’s your schedule now?

I’ll keep you updated on Monday what happens!
X x

wanab · 06/07/2019 18:22

There’s a months worth in the box. I’ll be taking them at least that long but ringing on day 1 period (probs tomorrow or Monday) to start the medicated FET. Providing they come approx Monday then it will be at least 3-4 weeks before transfer. Feeling quite positive at the moment. X

crisps88 · 06/07/2019 19:05

@wanab that’s good to feel like that you’re doing all you can and you’ve got so many embryos you’re so lucky x

wanab · 06/07/2019 19:49

A blessing and a curse. I’m glad I have so many, but each time I lose one I wonder how many times I will have to go through that feeling. Had I only got a few I think I would know and be happy after a second round and any viable embryos were used that enough was enough and that would be better for my mental health. For now i’m just going to keep popping them back in but knowing how low I got after the three back to back transfers before I know how hard it is going to get if I keep losing them.

I think I will ask for the hsg if the next one fails as I never had it so they have no way of knowing if I have problems with my tubes. I will be so annoyed if it turns out I do as I was going to have it initially but then they decided I didn’t need it!

PennyBC26 · 06/07/2019 21:13

@wanab that's great that they have given you something to treat it. Did they offer to do the test to find the low good bacteria? I just feel like they haven't done that much testing for me other than finding out I have low AMH and high FSH. @crisps88 yes I'm going to take no work home over summer. Everyone keeps asking if we are going away and I politely say no whilst I really want to scream "I'm having a second go at IVF!" Think we might just go to Anglesey for a week depending on how I'm feeling. Everything I've read about the buserelin makes me think it's to be expected to get the side effects as it puts you in a state of menopause. The nurse said she was sending our schedule in the post on Tuesday...still waiting!xx

wanab · 06/07/2019 23:52

Mr wood recommeded the ERA test after 3 fails but I had to pay privately for the test. The ERA checks they are transferring at the right time. There was the option of just that as the basic level or for a few hundred more the triome. If you pay individually it costs a lot more so thought we may as well. I’m glad I did now as that’s where they found an issue. Whether thats what’s causing them to fail i’ll have to wait and see!

PennyBC26 · 07/07/2019 07:54

Mr Wood did my collection and transfer, what a guy! Thought he was great! I mentioned the ERA test to my consultant and she said it could be something we look at after three fails so I guess that's something we might get done if needs be. Let's hope that they have found the reason for you after having the test. Was it expensive?xx

wanab · 07/07/2019 08:47

It costs £850 for the basic of £1100 for the triome.

PennyBC26 · 07/07/2019 09:31

Gosh!! It will all be worth it though!

crisps88 · 14/07/2019 12:33

Hey guys!
I had my day 12 scan yesterday at Chester with Karen. She saw 9-10 viable follicles. Last time he saw 10. She doesn’t want to keep me on extra medications even though they gave me 2 days more worth in case as per consultant.
She feel so I’m ready for egg collection tomorrow so here we go again!
Last time I only got 3 and hardly any viable. So so sooo nervous as this is the deciding cycle whether I have empty follicle syndrome and I’ll need donor eggs.
I don’t know what I’ll do if I have 3 or less tomorrow collected, I know everyone says only takes one but didn’t work for me !
Wish me luck! Hope you’re all well xx

wanab · 14/07/2019 17:11

Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Let us know how you get on. 🤞🙏

PennyBC26 · 14/07/2019 18:10

Good luck @crisps88 Fingers crossed for you!! It is my first buserelin shot tomorrow....eeeek!xx

crisps88 · 14/07/2019 21:00

Thanks so much girls. I will update. Much appreciated xxx

wanab · 15/07/2019 08:12

Good luck @Crisps88. X

crisps88 · 15/07/2019 20:24

Thanks so much @wanab I was so emotional today. Thanks @PennyBC26 you’ve both been brilliant.

I think it was the worry of having to use donor eggs if this didn’t go well. I had a little weep on the theatre table just so scared it would be the same as last time. There was 13 follicles I had to get from but with the worry there was nothing in them.

Made up, I got 10 today!!!! I was so so happy. The embryologist and the consultant both came out separately to tell me, they were chuffed for me. I am absolutely aching. So , so sore!! But all worth it !!

Now here comes the hard wait ! Doubt I’ll be sleeping tonight! Xx

PennyBC26 · 15/07/2019 20:58

@crisps88 WOW!!! 10!! That is amazing! So happy for you! Well done! Yes, I bet you are feeling so anxious now. It's the worst part but hang in there!! Hope you are resting up and being well looked after. Sending you positive thoughts!xx
