Thanks for getting back to me!
Where abouts are you up to in your journey?

PennyBC26 · 08/06/2019 12:52

Hi ladies, how are we all doing? I was unsuccessful with my first round of IVF a couple of weeks ago...but I've picked myself up and all set to go for a FET soon!xx

wanab · 08/06/2019 17:07

Sorry to hear that @PennyBC26. I had my ERA yesterday. Will have my appointment in 4 weeks.

PennyBC26 · 08/06/2019 22:49

@wanab I was googling ERA the other day!! How was it? I asked my consultant about it but she said it costs about £1000!! x

wanab · 09/06/2019 01:17

It went ok. It is £850 for the basic ERA, £1100 for the triple...and drugs on top for a medicated FET. I didn’t need to buy pessaries but the drugs were only £60 odd for Buserelin and progynova. I’ve had one chemical and 2 failed. I figured for all i’m getting free, and the fact I still have 15 frosties it was worth doing now in case i’m transferring at wrong time.

PennyBC26 · 09/06/2019 19:04

Wow!!! 15!!! Gosh, that's incredible! I've got two, hope they are the ones! I think my FET is £1300 and the meds are between £500-£900. I hope it's worth it!! When do you get the results of the ERA?xx

wanab · 09/06/2019 22:17

I will have an appointment at the wellness centre in about 4 weeks.

PennyBC26 · 10/06/2019 20:01

@wanab hope all goes well xx

crisps88 · 25/06/2019 10:03

Hi ladies. How is everyone? Long time no speak! Hope all are doing well and looking forward to hearing what everyone has been up to in their cycle. X

wanab · 25/06/2019 12:41

Hi @crisps88 I'm just waiting for my test results a week tomorrow...sadly with mr haddad... how are you getting on? X

crisps88 · 25/06/2019 18:05

What’s the tests you’ve had the era etc? Will this help with your frostie transfer times? I’m ok, began our second round of ivf - just finished norithisterone today and will have baseline Monday. How are things going with you all ok? Xx

PennyBC26 · 25/06/2019 20:17

Hi all, my first cycle was unsuccessful. I was gutted! BUT AF arrived today (bang on time) so I am now starting my second cycle for a FET. I'm doing a medicated cycle, I could have done a natural but I feel like I will have better control over it if it is medicated if that makes sense!? xx

crisps88 · 25/06/2019 22:22

@PennyBC26 I’m not sure what the difference (bar the obvious) between natural and medicated is, I had first unsuccessful cycle with nothing to freeze so not been in that lucky position. Good that you are starting straight away! It kind of lets you keep on track and focus. How are you feeling now?

I’ve given it 4 months between mine I just didn’t feel ready. Here we go again hey , fingers crossed for us all. X X

wanab · 25/06/2019 22:25

Yeh it was the ERA, EMMA and ALICE triome test. I am on medicated ones now. Apparently they have just switched all medicated protocols to progesterone injections instead of the pessaries. My test cycle was pessaries.

PennyBC26 · 26/06/2019 20:23

@crisps88 I'm trying to be positive but still find myself thinking 'what if it doesn't work?' I'm in the 'unexplained' category but surely there is something wrong if I've not conceived yet?! How are you feeling? When do you start? @wanab Yes, I've been told I will be having lubion injections instead of the pessaries, they are meant to be better. Wish they had told me that last time!xx

crisps88 · 27/06/2019 10:42

@PennyBC26 for sure it’s so hard to stay positive. I defo go through a rollercoaster of emotions daily! Because I know what you mean, it’s like second guessing what ifs especially if there was no definite cause! That must be pretty tough for you.

Me and my husband have previously had two pregnancies naturally , nearly 8 years ago but neither resulting in full term pregnancy. So it seems with the results of egg collection that it might be my eggs they don’t know, this will be the deciding factor as to whether I have Empty Follicle Syndrome or not.

I finished Northisterone last day Tuesday so waiting for bleed with baseline scan on Monday. Can’t believe we’re going through it again! Eek. I agree yeh, Literally my first cycle I honestly didn’t think It wouldn’t work because we’d neen pregnant before I just didn’t imagine it not working so I did set myself up for a fall. Now I’m thinking it isn’t going to work and donor eggs before this is even done! But I don’t want to kid myself again. Does that make sense. Xxx

PennyBC26 · 27/06/2019 20:48

@crisps88 yes that makes sense to me! Oooooh the Northisterone, I didn't like that. It made me feel quite emotionally numb. I remember my withdrawal bleed was pretty heavy, probably the heaviest I have bled...I think I am keeping always sanitary towels in business as I bought loads! Will you be have no your egg collection at Chester? xx

crisps88 · 27/06/2019 21:57

@PennyBC26 yes egg Coll again at Chester they were amazing there. It’s scheduled 15th July provisionally.

I knoww it’s the Norethisterone, I had more crazy mood swings from that than the injections on my first cycle and this insatiable hunger too. My period was so bad last time I was really heavy. I’m on day 2 off them and no bleed so far; I think it was day 4 last time but scan isn’t until Monday.

So what’s your progress upto now, when do you start your injections? What are you going to be using? Glad you have some embryos to be using , great news. X x x

crisps88 · 27/06/2019 21:58

@wanab are you waiting for you appointment to discuss with you when you’ll be starting your next moves? will it be for your frozen embryos again xxx

wanab · 27/06/2019 22:20

Hi @crisps88 Yes I get my results on Wednesday from the ERA triome test, then I will ring on day one (due the following week) and start drugs on day 21 for a medicated FET. I’ve enjoyed the break in transfers and some kind of normality even though I did medicated protocol for the ERA, but it’s invading my thoughts again now. Getting anxiety again. It’s not entirely IVF related, I’ve just been too busy, am overtired, and am close to completing on buying a house along with the impending appointment with mr haddad who I don’t like. :( I think I will be better after next week which is a little quieter, and then once this appointment is over. X

crisps88 · 28/06/2019 06:53

@wanab aw you sound like you have so much on your plate. It’s totally understandable for you to feel like that and especially seeing someone you’re not 100% comfortable with. It’s so consuming isn’t it and it affects every little thing in your life and magnifies all that goes on.

Hopefully you can rant on here or spill your feelings. Try and treat yourself with whatever you enjoy, there’s a lot of pressure to be positive but it's ok not to be ok! We go through so much it’s going to get on top of you.

wanab · 28/06/2019 07:42

Thanks. ❤️❤️

PennyBC26 · 29/06/2019 20:09

@crisps88 The 15th July will come round in no time for your collection. I thought Chester were fantastic, I was so anxious and they really calmed my nerves. I was petrified about the anaesthetic but when I woke up after it I felt like I had the best sleep in a long time! I'm going to be on buserelin, then I think I will be taking oestrogen and lubion...I know it's costing about £1300! I have two frozen so just paid £650 for storage costs. I'm just waiting for the nurse to get back to me about the date when I start, I think it will be around 15th July! @wanab Hope the house move is going well, you must be mega busy!!xx

crisps88 · 30/06/2019 11:17

@PennyBC26 this is our second and last NHS funded cycle , we had nothing to freeze and this is the deciding cycle to see whether or not we need to use donor eggs if it’s not successful again. Not sure on any prices haven’t looked at comparables but I know if we did next time with donor eggs IVI Chester priced at just under £9,000.

I know it’s only 2 weeks tomorrow until the decision day scan so it’s absolutely flying by. I wasn’t too bothered about any of the surgical stuff I was just made up to be having it because I thought it’d work.

Not long for you either. I’m staying on same protocol , same trigger, same Meriofert and Cetrotide just increased to 375mg for Meriofert from 225.

Did you have a review meeting about what might’ve gone wrong ? X x x

PennyBC26 · 30/06/2019 20:23

@crisps88 I have everything crossed for you that it will work!! They put me in the max dose of everything because of low AMH. I had meriofert and certrotide. I had ten eggs collected which shocked the nurse as she didn't think I would get that many. 7 fertilised and then we managed to get three good ones, so two are frozen as the other resulted in BFN. I think all of the supplements I took helped me to get so many eggs. I've been eating loads of fertility foods too but I think it is making me pile on the pounds! I asked at my appointment after the BFN why it didn't work and the doctor just said that there was no reason as everything was as it should be and everything was good. She put it down to just luck and said it works for 30% of people and unfortunately I wasn't one of them. I was a bit disappointed that they can't pin point why but I'm focusing on ahead now. I will be switching to lubion injections instead of the pessaries so maybe that will make a difference?xx
