Mr wood suggested the test, but it's only after a few failed implants that they suggest it. The test needs to be done in the same conditions as the transfer would be in to make sure it is accurate hence medicating on this cycle too. I'm hoping it shows something useful. At the very least it will confirm that they are transferring at the ideal time.. or give us a more accurate window.

Good luck everyone. X

wanab · 14/04/2019 16:09

It's not long protocol, it's just a medicated frozen transfer instead of timing it to my cycle.

Medicated is usually used if you don't ovulate regularly or in my case for whatever reason the embryos aren't implanting.

PennyBC26 · 14/04/2019 16:58

@crisps88 I'm not sure why they have put me on it, is it not the usual thing to be on? I know that they are putting me in the highest dosage of everything so not sure if that is to do with it? Did you take the week off after egg collection or transfer?xx

crisps88 · 14/04/2019 20:52

@PennyBC26 I’m not sure I’m not a pro at this stuff I just hadn’t heard of it. I had the eg collection Friday then had the transfer on the Wednesday. So I went back to work the Monday , so from Friday to Monday the week after I went. I was on 225 meriofert and then certrotide and now after this I’m on 375 meriofert. X

PennyBC26 · 18/04/2019 14:09

@crisps88 thanks for the info. Did you have many side effects from the meds?xx

wanab · 18/04/2019 14:40

Got my protocol today. I'm on buserelin injections from day 21 for my mock medicated FET cycle to have the ERA test. I think that will be in early June. Then a proper medicated FET with transfer August.

PennyBC26 · 18/04/2019 15:30

@wanab it's all go now!! Hope you are ok xx

wanab · 18/04/2019 16:18

Yeah. I’m actually really good. I’m glad of the break in transfers. It all gets a bit much. That said August seems forever away! 😆

SarahC16 · 21/04/2019 09:03

Hi lovely ladies just wanted to update you.
Had our third embryo transfer on the 29th of March.
It sadly failed with a prolonged bleed so have been out of my mind for weeks.
Our second cycle is now over.
We have a third cycle so we are very fortunate however after having to cope with three fails and early miscarriages in a year I can't continue my ivf journey just yet.
We've decided to have a break for a while.
Wishing you all the best of luck.Sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way.
We have just been unlucky in terms of the amount of embryos we have had at the end I think.
Hopefully when we are ready they can help us produce more xxxx

ClareLS · 21/04/2019 09:46

@SarahC16 I'm so sorry to hear that, you must be heartbroken. I hope you can take some time to relax and do things you enjoy to help take your mind off it as much as you can, until you're ready to try again xx

wanab · 21/04/2019 10:36

So sorry to hear that Sarah. I totally understand you needing a break. Take care of yourself and big big hugs. X

SarahC16 · 21/04/2019 12:58

We have a wedding to plan which will keep us nice and busy.
Just waiting for the counselling appointments to cone through and going to try some acupuncture too to help with the stress of it all x

wanab · 21/04/2019 13:20

:) that's great you have something to look forward to. You've already been through so much together. It will be such an amazing day. Its important to count our blessings too. I'm focussing on me and my OH I'm the waiting and trying to be more spontaneous and live life to the full at the moment xxx

SarahC16 · 21/04/2019 17:13

At the end of the day I have so many wonderful things in my life and I'm so grateful for that.
I know we will all get there one day no matter what it takes.
Keep me updated on your progress won't you?xxx

wanab · 21/04/2019 19:05

Of course. :) I’ve already changed my next steps slightly. I didn’t realise when opting for a private test that I would then have to pay for the drugs too. I don’t think that was in the price they quoted. Therefore i’m just going to do the basic level ERA as it’s a one off test that is accurate for life, whereas the 2 additional tests I was going to do were a snapshot in time that would very quickly become outdated. I start drugs a week on Tuesday. My next transfer won’t be until about August though.

SarahC16 · 22/04/2019 07:56

What do the tests involve?.
I asked about having one on my womb just to ensure all is ok but because I've had positive tests they assured me all is ok.
They said they will only advise me to have them if I miscarry three times in a row.For me I felt much better on the fresh transfers the medicated frozen transfer made me porley.
Still feel terrible now.
3 weeks from transfer from the medication x

wanab · 22/04/2019 08:27

It’s basically done like the scratch. It’s a biopsy but done in the same way. If nothing else my only positive however brief was after the scratch so can’t hurt.

PennyBC26 · 28/04/2019 12:07

Hi ladies, how are you all doing? I finished the Norethisterone yesterday and so pleased because I felt really foggy on it. I've had the scratch, now waiting to start meriofert on Thursday. Hope you are all ok x

wanab · 28/04/2019 14:48

Oo good luck Penny!

I’m starting my drugs for the mock medicated cycle on Thursday (with ERA test at the end).

PennyBC26 · 28/04/2019 17:39

@wanab Exciting! I bet you can't wait! Let me know how you get on, sending positive vibes!x

wanab · 23/05/2019 08:05

How is everyone? I'm still on buserelin, and now progynova. I have a scan next weds then the ERA biopsy on 7th. X

Winnie1703 · 26/05/2019 21:14

Hi everyone
Hope you all don’t mind me being on this thread.
My partner and I have been referred to IVI Chester and had our letter come through for the info evening on 12/6. We are slightly confused as we were told by our consultant Prof Kingsland we would be referred to Dr Simon Wood as the problem is with my other half with low/zero sperm count.
On the same letter it highlighted 1 cycle of IVF offered. I thought we would have to see Dr Wood first so that other tests can be done. I take it other appts will come through once the info evening is out the way?
Prof Kingsland mentioned ICSI with us yet it says IVF on our letter?
We don’t know what route we will take yet depending on what they find with my other half?
Does anyone have any advice on what happened to them before they went to the info evening?
Thanks

wanab · 26/05/2019 22:34

Hi. It sounds like you’ve had the tests already? It generally moves pretty quickly after the info eve too. It’s a group evening with several other couples and they provide a general overview of everything. ICSI is a form of IVF where they individually inject each egg with a sperm to maximise fertilisation. Good luck!

Winnie1703 · 26/05/2019 23:59

Thanks for replying. We’ve had blood tests, USS for me - all fine. Partner has had sperm tests, bloods and a chromosomal test.
I was just a bit worried that we needed to see Dr Wood first and then find out what option is for us but I’m sure that will be in hand. Very nervous about the whole process.
Hopefully that information evening will help out a lot.

ClareLS · 27/05/2019 15:57

@Winnie1703 Hi, I'm still quite early on in the process myself but after the info evening they should then book you in for a consultation with Dr Wood which is when theyll discuss your specific treatment protocol and do any other tests if they need to. They go through ICSI and IVF at the info evening, we found it really helpful and informative. Good luck!
