Hey @PennyBC26 how are you doing? That’s brill you’re moving on! Did you go to countess of Chester to meet your nurse? Great news that things are progressing. I had my official test yesterday, it was negative. Heart broken, I knew it was going to be negative I kept testing but nothing really prepares you for the lows! @wanab not long to go, hopefully just a few days for transfer. Luck to both of you xx

wanab · 04/03/2019 10:15

Yep. Saturday is the big day. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you Crisps. X

PennyBC26 · 04/03/2019 19:21

Awwwww @crisps88 so sorry to hear that!! Hope you are ok. Why is it so easy for some women to get pregnant naturally and yet so difficult for us?! It's not fair is it! These things are sent to try us I suppose! I met my nurse at Halton, I think I will only be going to Chester for egg collection and transfer. She's called Cathy and seemed lovely. Sending you lots of positive thoughts xx

crisps88 · 04/03/2019 19:35

@PennyBC26 I know it’s so heart breaking isn’t it, I wish more than anything in the world, anything more than life that I could have a baby. It’s not fair, i wish none of us had to go through this trauma. Oh that’s brilliant isn’t it glad you have someone you really like, it helps doesn’t it. Thank you, I need it beginning to not want to get up in the mornings i feel so sad! X x

wanab · 04/03/2019 19:43

@Crisps88 make sure you given yourself plenty of time to grieve. I’ve being pushing myself too hard and it’s catching up with me. If this one fails I may take a break and consider counselling.

PennyBC26 · 04/03/2019 20:27

@crisps88 Yes, it is heartbreaking but don't give up! I agree with @wanab make sure you give yourself plenty of time. This is a journey and we will get there, we've just got a few red lights on the way!xx

crisps88 · 04/03/2019 20:29

@wanab I can’t imagine how you must feel powering on each time, it’s literally soul destroying when it’s negative. We said we were going to take a few months break as it just all consumes your life, I don’t know who I am during it all the hormones and the ifs and buts it really takes it’s toll doesn’t it. I just admire your strength for going on and i hope this will be your final cycle.

I rang coc and Arrowe park today our clinic and they were both so nice so sympathetic and genuinely sounded sad for us. Our follow up will be sometime next month as they’re really busy and it’ll be 3 period cycles before the next ivf. X x

crisps88 · 04/03/2019 20:44

@PennyBC26 thank you. You guys have been really kind and nice , you’re right I know i need to get back to being positive it’s just so hard. Plus I came on my first period today (had been minimally spotting since Saturday) wow the pain is actually worse than any of the ivf procedures !! @wanab did you experience super sore cramping after ?? X x

wanab · 04/03/2019 21:12

I think mine have been pretty normal, but I think the first day they are heavier and more painful. Hugs. Take care of yourself.

crisps88 · 11/03/2019 18:30

Hi ladies. How Is everyone doing?? How are things? I’m hopefully on the last day of my period, the pain and bleeding have settled down a lot. Haven’t received a date for our follow up yet. How are things with everyone else? X x

PennyBC26 · 12/03/2019 13:52

Hi ladies, I'm just waiting for an appointment to get my polyp removed and hoping it is in the next few days as I can't start treatment till it's removed. I seem to be spending all my time waiting for appointments! Meanwhile I'm taking DHEA 3 times a day! Hope all is well with you xx

crisps88 · 12/03/2019 18:03

@PennyBC26 hopefully they’ll try and get everything in perfect condition for you, there’s nothing that would prepare you for a failed cycle so it seems like a long time now but really it’s for the best. Easier said than done though! Did your fertility specialist recommend DHEA? Sorry did you say you had psco? Glad to hear things are moving though for you! Xx

PennyBC26 · 12/03/2019 20:21

@crisps88 yes, when I went to meet with the fertility nurse she prescribed DHEA, I take one 25mg tablet three times a day because my AMH is low for my ages which indicates diminished ovarian reserve. Also, I'm not sure if you have seen on Groupon but there is a fertility show in Manchester, I'm going with my husband in the hope that there might be some pearls of wisdom there! It looks great!xx

wanab · 12/03/2019 21:23

Glad your period is nearly over crisps... hope you can move on from your fail and start planning for next attempt soon, but don't push yourself if you aren't ready.

There is a lot of waiting Penny :(. I hope that you get your appointment quickly.

I'm on day 3 of 2ww. Dragging already. Had some mild cramps which I'm hoping were implantation but holding out at least til the weekend to test. Otd is a week tomorrow. X

crisps88 · 12/03/2019 21:31

Hi @wanab oooo my fingers and toes are crossed 🤞 I am so hopeful for you !! It must be like torture this wait for you, yes definitely try and leave it as much as you can as you say but it’s easier said than done lol. How do you feel? How are you doing, I remember I think you said was it fitness your job was in? Hopefully you’re taking it easy.

Yes I think we’ll just see how it goes, period is over thankfully and it was only the first day I experienced really bad cramps and pains.

I have rang the clinic today as haven’t got an appointment through yet, I want to know a date that I can feel like I know what happened and why. If that makes sense. No luck yet awaiting a call back. I know they’re busy just hopefully it’ll only be a few week wait. X x x

crisps88 · 12/03/2019 21:36

@PennyBC26 ah yes sorry I do remember you sayin it was AMH. I have been looking at loads of threads for it recently on DHEA but it looks a bit scary if it’s not been advised or prescribed. I’ve started on NAC, royal jelly, ubiliquol, more cq10, and carrying on with omega 3 and pregnacare.

The nurse I work with did tell me to take aspirin 75 but the specialist said to stop so haven’t been taking that. How are you feeling in your journey? I bet you’re eager to start.

Ooo I’ve just looked at the groupon thing now that you’ve said that thanks! I might think about it, to be honest I feel quite embarrassed and a bit ashamed about it. X x x

PennyBC26 · 12/03/2019 22:14

@crisps88 yes, I know what you mean about feeling embarrassed and ashamed but I'm going to fully embrace it and see what the show has to offer! Yes, apparently DHEA is good and there is s chapter on it in the book 'It starts with the egg'. Yes, I'm taking pregnacare, royal Jelly and coq10 also! What is ubiliquol? I'm feeling anxious but desperate to start asap! @wanab fingers crossed for you, lots of positive thoughts being sent to you!xx

wanab · 12/03/2019 22:53

So far so good. Just very mild cramps that I'm hoping are implantation. I'm afraid they post out the follow up.and allow time for a natural bleed in between so it will probs be about 5-6 weeks time. It takes up to a couple of weeks to arrive. That way they can get you going again shortly after without necessarily needing another appointment after the follow up. It's normal to be desperate for it though.

crisps88 · 13/03/2019 12:49

@PennyBC26 that such a good attitude I need to Be more like that for sure! I would like to go to see what it’s lie, hopefully not just sales pushers. I have “it starts with the egg!!!” I bought it the other week after our disappointment 😔 it has a LOT about plastic in it! Confused have you finished the book? I haven’t yet! How are you doing it must be hard to wait for this to get removed and then start. Xx

crisps88 · 13/03/2019 12:53

@wanab ah so a couple of weeks before the follow up letter even arrives? Last week they said our specialist was off for a couple of weeks too so they had nothing in March but I would like one in April for sure lol. They normally recommend 3 cycles anyway before they do another ivf cycle so that fits in with our plan to take a break which is good. Replenish ourselves! I am hoping and wishing for you!! Xx

PennyBC26 · 13/03/2019 20:22

@crisps88 yes it talks loads about plastic! I ended up skipping a few pages and then read all the bits about supplements. However, it did say to be cautious of royal jelly and I'm taking that! xx

crisps88 · 13/03/2019 20:45

@PennyBC26 to be honest I bought it and haven’t read it all. I just didn’t feel like I connected with much of it but I will for sure try and finish it. Did you find many points you could take on board with it? I’m taking royal jelly too but haven’t come to the part about that ! X

PennyBC26 · 13/03/2019 21:31

@crisps88 yes I found the book a bit overwhelming and there was lots of science! My main take away from it was that we are in control to contribute to our egg health...good to know that we can control something!xx

wanab · 13/03/2019 21:46

Haven't read it but most people advise don't get too carried away with everything in it. People have followed it and got bfp, but people also get bfn. Just relax, be sensible and generally keep healthy. X
