Evening all

Hope everybody had an okay Christmas given all our circumstances. I am a bit lucky in that theres no children in my immediate family so we had an all-adult gathering for dinner.

On day 4 of buserelin injections here and so far, after waiting for so long, it’s feeling a bit...anticlimactic. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am wondering if relaxing at home since I’m off till the new year is masking any nasty side effects or if it needs a few more days to kick in. Confused

Anyway, definite making the most of the calm just now as it’ll definitely all kick off in January when I’ll have a 3 hour round trip to the clinic every few days to look forward to.

I wonder if I can join I am having my transfer next week fly out to Spain Wednesday and would love to hear of your stories this is my fourth attempt xx

Sjh84 · 01/01/2018 20:18

Hi everyone,

Can I join - I’m on long protocol and just took my first injection of Buserelin, my stomach feels all weird but I’m wondering if I’m looking for symptoms!

Feeling so nervous about it all!

Coolchick11 · 01/01/2018 21:47

hi sjh

Sjh84 · 01/01/2018 22:04

In South Wales - they are lovely at the clinic to be fair :)

I hope your transfer goes well on Wednesday, has your treatment gone well so far? Xx

Peekaboo81 · 02/01/2018 22:17

Happy new year everyone. It's been a while since I last checked in as had to deal with the disappointment of not being able to start short protocol ivf as planned as my period started Xmas day instead of boxing day so clinic was closed for when I would need scans over Xmas period. Anyway have to wait for next period due 18/1/18 to start my ivf drugs and hopefully have transfer in early February. Good luck to everyone doing ivf in Jan. I will check back in once I start my period.

MissyPG · 02/01/2018 22:38

Sorry to hear of your disappointment peekaboo, hopefully all goes smoothly from 18th. I’ll be about a week behind you but starting long protocol.

Cool chick hope all goes well tomorrow and it’s a sticky one.

Sjh84 · 03/01/2018 09:54

Sorry to hear that Peekaboo, last month my period fell on a date that meant EC would have be Xmas day so I had to postpone by a month too, I was so upset but it has gone quickly. I should start the stimming phase around 15th so we’ll be close in dates.

Coolchick good luck for today.

Aly82 · 03/01/2018 11:14

Sjh it's gone ok but have had trouble with the scans they kept finding cyst so until they knew what it was they couldnt proceed with transfer I'm having donor egg so cyst doesn't interfere with transfer this our 4th cycle but second attempt ah that's good they are pretty good at your clinic are you having it there or flying somewhere xx

Coolchick11 · 04/01/2018 04:49

Its today sjh we flew out yesterday thanks hope your ok xx

Joining the January / Feb Fresh and frozen club! Hi ! Smile

TTC 4 years, Married 2017 6 5 day frosties in the freezer since Nov 2017.

I'm doing a FET, expected transfer date Feb 1st! Lucky to be on NHS for the moment.

so like a few on here I've gone through the initial IVF stages EC, and I have had one failed fresh cycle. Hoping for 2nd time lucky !

Happy to try and answer any of your questions for support.

My AF arrived on time so I am on day 10 of medication Buserelin and then adding in prognova next week.

I've been taking pregnancy care from boots, royal jelly, and q-10 for ages along with sensible diet choices (albeit hard during Dec!!). Oh and doing acupuncture for this cycle as read it can help!

Coolchick11 · 05/01/2018 17:13

Just to let you all know it went well yesterday it's now the 2 week wait I have been doing what the doc said resting Dbear good luck I am going to start multi vitamin next week from Holland's and Barretts good deals on them and I am taking pregnancy and fertility folic acid at mo from Superdrug xx

babydustneeded · 08/01/2018 19:12

Hello all, got my medication arriving tomorrow ready to start on Monday (doing a long cycle) but nervous about doing the injections even though I don't mind needles usually!

Summerloving17 · 08/01/2018 19:35

Hi All, apologies for the absence, I have been trying to reduce my internet time but now I am fully back!!!

I had my appointment today after 13 days low dose menopur, was waiting for my doctor to call with the dose for tonight based on my blood test result but apparently the results didn't come back in time!!! I am disappointed/angry as not only did my doctor not order the right drugs in the first place, it sounds like they haven't processed my bloods properly. I am paying too so now wondering whether I should have gone to a private clinic not an NHS one. Has anyone had anything like this too?

I will read up on the new posts now- you get used to the injections don't worry!

Summerloving17 · 08/01/2018 19:38

Ah good luck coolchick, have everything crossed for you! The two week wait is so tough! What have they advised you to do?

Hello mist- great to have your experience here as my first IVF, hopefully your last too!!

swimchick1980 · 09/01/2018 02:02

Hi everyone. Can I join? I am just about to start my first round of ICSI. 37, relatively low AMH, DH low sperm motility. AF arrived today and i start taking norethisterone on day 21. Then onto gonal f. We were delayed due to Christmas closure of clinic and i can barely remember what we were told at or consent appointment!

I'm feeling relieved we're finally starting, excited and terrified in equal measure. Wishing everyone lots of luck and hopefully 2018 will be a great year for all of us Smile

Coolchick11 · 09/01/2018 10:02

summerloving I have been adviced to rest the first few days which I did and then tomorrow I can go back to work and have to carry on with the medication for 15 weeks after the pee stick which is monday doctor feels confidient that it has worked I'm reluctant to say yes or no at the mo as I have been here before and don't want to get my hopes up

Hi all. Yesterday I had the appoiment with the nurse , a scan and they showed me how to do my injections. There were some problems with my medication too. My period started early last month ,I called the clinic and they said is not a problem to start the pills. I took my last pill on Monday and when I told the nurse, she said I suppose to have 1 on Tuesday too. She checked my prescriptions and said they supposed to prescribe 2 boxes of pills just in case and advise me to carry on until this Tuesday. Considering this she said I have to start bruselin Injections on Tuesday. After that ,she carry on showing me how to do the second type of injections the only thing i notice she was showing me a pen injection with 1 dosage.i told her I do not have anything like that and my medication is called menopur not gonal and I have lots of syringes. I think she didn't believe me😠 but when she checked on computer her face changed. She said they gave me the wrong medication , and her face really scared me. Anyway they arange to change the medication and being with Nhs it wasn't a problem to me..so last night I started the injection bruselin.i have to admit is not as bad as I thought it would be..so this is my ""adventure "" I hope the rest will be ok.good luck everyone and hope everything goes well for all of you😊

Oh wow Aly, lucky you noticed! Hope the buserelin doesn’t affect you too much, I just had my 10th one it’s gone pretty quickly! I’ve found it ok although I’ve done some random things like accidentally wash my hair with shower gel - it’s like my concentration has gone rubbish! Af came yesterday and it’s been a bit heavier than normal so hopefully this means lining will be nice and thin next week Smile

Lots of people have mentioned menopur - I have merional so I’m not sure if it’s the same thing or not! It’s also syringes not a pen I’ve got, the nurse said she’d explain it again when I go back.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been reading though. Welcome to the new posters.

Summer thank you! Oh I really hope so. The last 2 failed cycles make it harder to feel as optimistic (a lot of thoughts that something must be wrong with my body now or with the frozen sperm) but maybe it is all just luck. Wishing you the best and hope I can offer useful advice here. :)

Good luck Coolchick!

My endo scratch went OK. Then I started buserelin yesterday. I had something organised in the daytime that was out of my comfort zone but was a great distraction. And it worked out well! I felt really proud of myself after that plus first jab and cooking a nice meal from scratch. :) I've been putting inspiring songs on while I do injections as I did for the other cycles. Feeling OK so far... trying to remember how it made me feel in the past. I think previously I was emotional and maybe a bit down after a while down regging, and wanted to comfort eat (maybe that's stress too though), but otherwise not so bad. Then stims helped balance me out in some ways but I felt quite bloated and tender near the end. Signs of it working I suppose!

You're getting on well sjh! :)

Coolchick11 · 11/01/2018 12:46

Thanks all for well wishes I am doing well at mo touch wood I haven't had anything since last Thursday a couple of spots so hopefully it's all good how is everyone else and good luck to all for there upcoming transfers xx

hoping2018 · 11/01/2018 20:51

Hi all,

Can I join in? Age 31, day 10 of buserelin for first ICSI. My husband has MFI and I have diminished ovarian reserve and hypothyroidism. So a pretty rubbish combination.

Everyone I know is pregnant and generally finding the whole process pretty isolating and stressful so I'd love to hear how others are getting on.
