Hi ladies wishing you all luck and a bfp soon! Just to update ive started my 1st stim injection (bemfola 300) this evening so have officially begun my first cycle of ivf. Feeling a little sore from the injection other than that I'm fine at the moment. Will update tomorrow Halo

hoping2018 · 20/01/2018 22:03

@HelloMist glad to hear someone else is on same time scale as me! My buserelin hot sweats have been getting worse and worse! Feeling better today than yesterday mentally but just realised my post yesterday said I was jealous people were stinking!! I meant stimming!!! Lol I'm sure you all smell lovely!

hoping2018 · 20/01/2018 22:04

@Peekaboo81 glad you've got the first one out of the way! Emotionally that's the hardest. I was still holding out hope my period wouldn't turn up and I'd be pregnant even after injecting - but officially having ivf now!

Sjh84 · 21/01/2018 11:32

Hi everyone!

Peekaboo the first stim is definitely mentally the hardest so youve done it now! 😊

I was so bloated yesterday I could hardly walk but last night I passed a load of egg white mucus and today the bloating is much better - now I’m worried I’ve done something! I still have a new bump where my ovaries are so hopefully all normal. Scan tomorrow, can’t wait as just want to know whats happening. This treatment really messes with your head!

hoping2018 · 21/01/2018 12:40

@Sjh84 I know what you mean! The whole process really tests your patience!! Sounds like something is happening for you so fingers. Tossed there's loads of them!!

babydustneeded · 21/01/2018 17:47

Hello all, I'm almost at 1 week of buserelin and having an easy ride so far, a couple of hot flushes but very minor. How long did everyone take before the buserelin triggered a bleed? I would expect AF in the next couple of days normally but not sure if the buserelin makes a difference?

hoping2018 · 21/01/2018 18:07

Hey @babydustneeded my period was a day late (which is unheard of) and slightly heavier than normal and lasted 3 days longer than normal. All settled now just in time for first scan tomorrow! Unfortunately flushes got worse as time went on for me x

Sjh84 · 21/01/2018 20:33

Hi @babydustneeded - like Hoping mine was a day late and slightly heavier than normal.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @hoping2018 Smile

hoping2018 · 21/01/2018 21:04

@Sjh84 good luck for your scan too!!

Aly82 · 22/01/2018 00:43

Hi all! My period started 2 day early ,babydustneeded. Good luck for your scan
hoping2018 and Sjh84. I have my scan too I will be on day 5/6 on gonal f. Some useful tips that I learned for side effects: if you have headache drink more water it will definitely help you, for injection: keep them in the fridge even the down reg.one ; use ice pads , put a patch on the spot after it helped me with the itch and redness I had sometimes, when you make the injection grab your skin and release it and stand when you pushing the liquid. It worked for me , maybe will work for orhers🤗😊.Sweet dreams all and hope we will have good news from the scan. Thank you so much for all the support and tips that all of you lovely ladies shared.

So I had my scan today.i have 8 follicle on right side and 10 on the left measuring between 10_13. My linen is 5.8 . Nurse said is ok as I am at the beginning of the process. I had blood tests to and they said they will call later in case have to change something. What about you how the scan went?

OP posts:
hoping2018 · 22/01/2018 12:37

Hi @Aly82 8 and 10 sounds great! My scan was fine - just all quiet as expected so start gonal-f on Wednesday as planned.

Slight spanner in the works was then asking if we wanted to pay an extra £600 for time lapse monitoring of the embryos?! We've pretty much decided we'll do it as we want to give it the best shot we can. Anyone else opted for this?!

Sjh84 · 22/01/2018 12:44

Sounds like youre progressing well Aly82 - Im not exactly sure how many I have, I have about 6 one one side and 8 on the other, ranging from less than 10 to over 14. I got a bit confused they were talking so fast. My lining is 8.5 and has a nice triple line apparently! They said there was a bit of fluid around my left ovary but that it was normal from stimming and not a sign of OHSS.

No bloods today but they said to keep taking same dose and they’ll see me again Wed.

When are you back for a scan?

Sjh84 · 22/01/2018 12:46

Ooh so youre ready to go now hoping! I’ve not been offered any time lapse, did they outline the benefits?

Aly82 · 22/01/2018 14:38

Hi .they didn't mention nothing about time lapse, but I am nhs and maybe this is offered for private only. My next scan is Wednesday .Sjh84 I am glad everything is progressing well for you too and also for
hoping2018. And with the lining what is the good size or what they want it to be? Hugs to all🤗😊

hoping2018 · 22/01/2018 16:31

We're NHS too but it's a private clinic. Well we've decided to go for time lapsing but I guess will never know what difference it makes! Basically some embryos can look good at day 5 but the time lapse can tell you if they divided funny along the way - if so, they're not as good a blastocyst as you might think so they may choose a different one to put back in! Also normally they have to take them out of the incubator(?) on day 2&5 to check them which disrupts their environment and this avoids that. I've looked a few papers and there seems to be some evidence it helps..... watch this space!

Sjh84 · 22/01/2018 18:36

I think they were looking for a minimum of 7mm but not sure if by this point in time or for transfer @aly82

How interesting @hoping2018 - its amazing how complex these little embryos are!!

FabulousTumbleweed · 22/01/2018 19:24

Sounds like everybody had successful scans today and are off to a good start Smile.

When we went to our clinic’s information evening they mentioned time-lapse but didn’t indicate any costs so I assumed it came as standard. I’m NHS too but in Scotland.

I had my last scan today. My follicles are at the right size or thereabouts and now I’m progressing to egg collection on Wednesday. Finished with the stims, just the trigger shot to go.

Aly82 · 22/01/2018 20:40

That's great news FabulousTumbleweed. No more injections for you👍. Good luck for Wednesday !!!

Sjh84 · 22/01/2018 20:52

Thats fab @fabuloustumbleweed - when do you do your trigger shot?

hoping2018 · 22/01/2018 21:01

Excellent news tumbleweed. Let us know how it goes! Does that mean you are having the time elapse - i think you get daily updates if so (not sure I'll want these!! It's not like there's anything you can do about it?!)

Peekaboo81 · 22/01/2018 22:06

Hi ladies glad all your scans are pregressing well, I'm starting cetrozide antagonist injections tomorrowConfused feeling nervous! My first scan is Friday hopefully all will be worth it. I'm drinking plenty of water so far so not had any side effects from the bemfola injections which has been a blessingSmile I will let you know how I get on with the cetrozide tomorrow but if anyone has been using it too please post. Baby dust to you all Halo

FabulousTumbleweed · 23/01/2018 07:01

Trigger shot was taken last night, 36 hours before collection. After puttering about with injections for most of a month it feels like all of a sudden it’s all systems go so I was all Confused last night.

I’m not 100% sure what happens regarding updates but will find out tomorrow. I think they said you get daily updates. You can tell this is my first cycle as I’m a bit clueless half the time.

Aly82 · 23/01/2018 19:34

I hope everything went well for you FabulousTumbleweed at egg retrieval. Tomorrow I have my second scan to see if we're progressing. Good luck all and hope we will all have good newsWink
