Scratch was awful! Now I’m worried about everything! Not sure what is happening.

Stupid question time. I have all the medication now, the gonal f and menopur have to live in the fridge but the needles and syringes that came with them don’t need to be in the fridge, do they? I know in a ideal world you would leave everything packaged up but the boxes are big and it’s christmas, fridge space is limited!

Aly82 · 19/12/2017 18:46

Hi.you only have to keep in fridge what is labelled with snowflake or is written to do so. I have gonal and menopur in fridge rest of them are in the needle bag with the box for needles . I am sorry it was awful your scratch but if ends in a positive result will worth. Do you have any side effects when starting your pill?I read that a lot of others had to change the pill because of head ache or sickness. Take care and all the best.

Hi ladies please can I join you all? I'm starting on Friday, my first IVF after 4 x failed iui (one ectopic pregnancy). All my drugs arriving tomorrow which cost me £1.2k!!! I keep having waves of excitement then being terrified, I think it's because I know this is my last chance and mentally I can't take much more. Got to keep thinking positively!!!

Good luck everyone 😘

Crayfishparty · 19/12/2017 21:02

Aly82 you are so lovely and positive, thank you. I did feel sick on the pill but it is going now, I didn’t mention it perhaps I should have done! My body isn’t reacting well to it which now appears to be the worse thing in the world! The clinic didn’t tell me to mention any of this to them but now I’m feeling I should have done. (Sorry trying to not be too outing!)

Hi Summer the spending is awful isn’t it (I cried after paying it!) they suddenly become the most precious thing, as you can see I’m highly worried about looking after them! I can’t believe how many needles there are.

Positive thoughts and luck to all.

Think I will join you all. I am starting a fresh cycle in January. This is after a failed fresh and frozen. Gearing myself up to do it all again ☹️ X

Peekaboo81 · 19/12/2017 21:58

Hi my meds arrived today, I was told to start bemfola injections on day 2 of full period not spotting. I am due to start my period on boxing day, but If I start my period any earlier I can't do ivf in Jan as clinic is closed over Xmas when I would need to have scans to measure follicles as I'm doing short cycle, so would have to wait until my next period. Im hoping it's all on time as don't want anymore delays just want to get the ivf done now. Fingers crossed for everyone x

Hello all, can I join in with you? I'm about to start my first cycle and am a little apprehensive about what to expect as a total newbie to it all (so new that this is my first post on MN!).

Due to endo I'm on a long protocol and start down-regulating on Christmas Eve of all days. I had to put off starting by a month due to Christmas closures at the clinic and my cycle not matching up so it feels as if I've been waiting forever to get going.

Got my various appointments for January sorted so it feels like I'm inching ever closer now.

TickTock10 · 20/12/2017 14:50

Joining the January club! Goodluck all!

I'm doing a FET, from eggs we froze in August, with an expected transfer date, end of January.
As i've gone through the initial IVF stages up to EC, happy to try and answer your questions for support.

My AF is expected on 10 January, so will kick start whatever the FET medication/process from there, which i've been told is approx 17-19 days long.

I've been taking pregnancy care from boots....apart from that, I haven't changed my diet.

Daisy1980a · 20/12/2017 14:57

Hello all and welcome Summerloving and Be here now!
Crayfish - sorry to hear about the scratch - how did the pain compare to an hcosy, if you had that procedure?
There is no real update from me as I will actually be quite far behind you ladies, as won't start de-reg until Feb- think I got a little ahead of myself as just want to get on with it now. Hoping I can still be part of the January Club and will be here to give you all the moral support you need x

babydustneeded · 20/12/2017 17:18

Hello! I am just waiting to order meds and book consenting appointment and then start on day 21 with meds (mid jan hopefully). This is our first attempt, paying privately as secondary infertility so no nhs treatment was available for us. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Crayfishparty · 21/12/2017 17:03

Hi All
Daisy1980a re scratch. I haven’t had hycosy but have had a hysterscopy, I found it about the same pain wise but it went on longer but I have to have it done again!!! So everything is now delayed, I’m fed up, didn’t realise it could go wrong so early.

Anything happening for anyone else?

Summerloving17 · 21/12/2017 20:30

Oh how disappointing for your scratch and sounds painful too! I haven't got one booked in so will ask about it tomorrow.

So I'm starting tomorrow! Have my appointment at 9am and my stash of drugs all ready. I have 2-3 weeks of a mid level of menopur before 12 days super high, so hopefully egg collection mid January.

Crayfishparty · 21/12/2017 22:01

Good luck tomorrow Summerloving, I’m guessing I’m a bit older than you, I think that is why they did it.

It has pushed me back at least 21 days and I thought I was doing so well squeezing in around Christmas and new year.

Aly82 · 22/12/2017 09:25

Hi ,all and welcome to new members! Sorry crayfish party to hear about your delay. Summerloving17 just let us know how your appoiment went.i have my first appointment on 9 of January and I will start the first injection them. They said if everything goes according to the plan the egg collection will be on 29 of January and the transfer at begining of February. For the moment I am on the pill but I started to feel nervous somehow.untill now I was calm but now I started to feel like I was at school and I have a big examHmm. What about you ladies? Kisses and good luck all

Thanks ladies all went as planned today- just scan and blood test. My fridge is half full of drugs which isn't great for Christmas stocking up ;)

I asked about the scratch and my Dr said at the moment they don't have enough evidence to support it in under 37s so they are doing a trial- I decided not to get involved as didn't want to delay anything!
My scan showed no unexpected activity or cysts so I will start Boxing Day, have two weeks on this dose and return when my dr is back on 8th Jan before going onto the high dose to get as many eggs as we can. My protocol is probably quite different from the majority as I have hypothalamic amennorhea so don't produce FSH or ovulate on my own hence I need this two week low dose to prep my ovaries.

Roll on 2018 and hopefully lots of Autumn babies for us all 😘

BeHereNow31 · 22/12/2017 21:22

Sounds like everyone’s treatment is moving along slowly. I’m still waiting for my period to start... (knew it would be later 😒 will just enjoy Xmas for now)
Crayfish, I asked Hospital about scratch, but it wasn’t something they offered. Worth a try imo
Hope everyone enjoys Xmas, even with all this going on x

HelloMist · 22/12/2017 23:07

Hi everyone, glad to find a thread to join. :)

Are most of you doing your first cycle? I have a DD from IVF1. Have done FET and another IVF trying for a second but they ended in MC and CP. It's been about a year since my last cycle so the dates looming now feel like a sad kind of deja-vu and it's hard to be optimistic. But my very first cycle worked so I need to remind myself that! (And I feel very lucky.)

I have just started my second pack of pills. Will have scratch early January (my first one) and start down reg the 9th I think. I'll be on buserelin and then Gonal-F to stim, which is what I've done twice before.

Summer glad scan went well and things can start as planned.

Ticktock did you have to do a freeze only in August?

Tilby · 24/12/2017 21:48

Hi!

Another one joining the January club. It's our first cycle and steered injecting buserelin on 19th. Fingers crossed will have egg collection on 24th Jan.
I am really not liking how the injections are affecting my moods 🙁. My other half is being great but he is struggling as we are both young (27) but he has azoospermia (zero sperm) and had to have a surgical sperm collection......so we have no idea if they are even viable! So lots of pressure!
It's so nice to hear that I am not alone.

Summer - glad your appointment went well!

Aly- it's the weirdest feeling isn't it. One minute you are on cloud nine and the next it's like your about to set a very important exam and you haven't revised!!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

Xxxx

Merry Christmas everyone!

I’ve been off of here for a bit as just didn’t want to think about IVF (denial) but I’m slowly realising that I’m going to have to face facts and this is the way it is going.

Period due 3/4 January and I thought I’d be starting buserelin on CD1 but I’ve been told to start on CD 21 but to use precautions. Anyone got any clue why this is? Why do some folk start on CD1 and some on CD21?

Hope everyone is having a good day xx

HelloMist · 25/12/2017 17:04

Merry Christmas everyone!

Tilby my DH is also azoospermic and had sperm retrieved in 2014. We've still got enough frozen to try ICSI.

Missy I think down reg from day 21 is normal for long protocol (what I'm doing this time and have always done before). Day 1 sounds like it might be short protocol (for patients with lower ovarian reserve or others the clinic decides it might suit best). I think they go straight to stimulation drugs but not quite sure.

MissyPG · 25/12/2017 17:41

Thanks HelloMist, so many different things to get your head round. Hope your having a good day xx

Tilby · 25/12/2017 19:10

Merry Christmas Hello Mist. When do you start your ICSI cycle?
How did your other half deal with his diagnosis? Mine is focused on finding out why and he wants further tests to see if we can conceive naturally in the future.
Xx

Tilby · 25/12/2017 19:16

Sorry just found you last message Hello mist 🤪 You can tell I'm new to this!
Are you doing the same protocol as before?
