We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

@sal1987 I am so sorry about your BFN. I know exactly how you feel and the trauma of monthly disappointment. We tried for 9 months then went to the GP and they found we had Male Factor Infertility (MFI) so we got referred for IVF immediately.

If you have been trying for a year the NHS recommend you both go and see your GP to ask for tests for you and your partner. If you are over 35 you are told to go to your GP after six months of trying. I would not wait longer in case there is a problem they can find and you do need treatment.

They will first do blood tests for your hormones and he will do a semen analysis and I think a blood test too, I can't remember...

If you are over 42 you won't be able to get IVF on the NHS but you can get the initial tests to see if they can identify a problem.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm going to book an appointment and fingers crossed we can find the root of the problem!! Smile

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with ttc. Believe me I'm very frustrated myself. My husband and I are both in our early 30's. We’ve been trying for about 4 years. I always thought that it'll only take me one month and I'll be good to go. But that was not the case. We had so many fertility treatments. We went through 3 failed ivf. But we are still at the same place from which we started. It also doesn't help when everyone around is having kids. Moreover family members keep asking you when you're having a baby. Try not to lose your faith in God. I think God works in mysterious ways and it'll happen when you least expect it. I woke up depressed this morning, but I don't want to let myself get to that level. I will keep trying and see what happens.

@Xamberxx sorry to hear you are feeling low. Three failed IVFs must be so hard. I just experienced one so far and feel very upset about it.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear your news @scottish, hope you're looking after yourself Flowers

We've had or review appt at fc - they recommended donors eggs, but we're not sure exactly how we feel about it. Dh also did sperm dna fragmentation test & results were really bad, so we're waiting to hear back from a specialist urologist to follow up on that. And I'm on the process of getting all my hormones tested again. Day 3 bloods were good. Had day 21 bloods done this morning, only to start spotting this afternoon. AF currently trying to start, blooming typical Angry

How's everyone else doing? Anyone due to start treatment cycle?
