We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Thanks Scottish!

So we have currently matched with a surrogate and are going through all the paperwork etc hoping to transfer end of sept. We have an issue with our embryos, basically our clinic didn’t do our screening tests within 3 months of embryos being made, so we may have an issue sending our embryos to the clinic we wanted to use. Our surrogate has also offered to be a traditional surrogate, her egg, which at this point without knowing what our issue is, I’m not opposed to as for all I know it’s my eggs, although I’m 30 so..?!
If we choose traditional surrogacy it will be a home IUI session, awkward but free! And that could be next week, but I would love to try our embryos first as we have 6.
lizzy we went to ivf straight away as I thought it may help/ tell us something even though I can get pregnant naturally, my clinic (ARGC) is far more intense so I was there everyday even weekends and sometimes twice a day but other people I know that have been to other clinics it was much more relaxed. EC is fine, you go to sleep and wake up and I didn’t have any pain or bleeding but I also had OHSS As I got 24 eggs and then got pregnant which worsens the OHSS, that part was very uncomfortable!

How is everyone else? X

Chochaw · 20/08/2018 17:07

Wow TTC you are full steam ahead. I hope you get your screening done soon.

I had IUI today but feel disheartened about it. I only had 1 follicle and 11 million sperm after washing compared to 3 follicles and 37.7million last time. I'm gutted that the sperm has decreased so much in 2months. I think IVF may be our next option.

bluebird3 · 29/08/2018 09:21

Hi everyone. Just checking in.

When is your test date chocaw? Try to keep positive. It only takes one egg and one speed. Fx for you.

I've had my 12 week scan and everything looks good. Hoping I can relax a bit now. Even in pregnancy it's a different road we travel.

I have some cheapie hpts leftover that expire in October. Does anyone want them? I'm happy to post if you message me your address.

Hope everyone is well. Smile

Amazing news Blue!
My test date is Tuesday. The trigger has left my system last Thursday. My feet are so swollen and my boobs hurt a lot. It could be AF coming though.

TTC that is exciting! X

Thund4rcat · 30/08/2018 21:19

So happy for you Blue!

I just started stims a couple of days ago... Thankfully have not experienced any serious side effects from 3 weeks of down-reg. Just a bit tired now.

EC expected around 10th Sept.

Thund4rcat · 30/08/2018 21:20

Good luck @Chochaw!

Lizzysmi · 01/09/2018 15:46

Thank you so much for everyone’s reassuring IVF insights. We have an appointment this coming Friday to discuss next steps with consultant. So glad things are going well for you Blue, and I have my fingers firmly crossed for everyone else! X

Chochaw · 02/09/2018 17:03

Hi ladies,

I caved and tested this morning and got a positive. I couldn't believe it so I went to shop and bought 4 more tests and all positive. Clear blue digital said pregnant 1-2 weeks. I'm so excited but nervous too. I was shopping for a bridesmaid dress today so I told the bride and she was really happy but said that I should rest again because I used the same urine sample for all 5 tests that it isn't fair. Can you get false positives?

Lizzysmi · 02/09/2018 17:55

That’s amazing news! So so happy for you Chochaw! I think the false positive can be from the trigger but as you said that’s left your system this sounds like the best news. I guess you could try to experiment to see if a line goes darker or lighter tomorrow versus today, but if the dose you had of trigger should have left you by now I think it’s time for major congratulations :-)

Ttc1london · 03/09/2018 07:23

Amazing news chocaw!! Even with less sperm etc it still worked!!

I would retest anyway in a few days to rule out a chemical etc but for now you are pregnant so positive vibes ❤️ Xxxx

Chochaw · 04/09/2018 06:21

Thanks TTC and Lizzy. I'm pretty sure that for now I am pregnant. I tested the trigger out and it was gone 10 days before I got a positive. I've attached some pics. The one with 4 tests was Sunday and today I tested and line is darker. Today was my outcome day but my consultant on holiday so I was to test at home anyway. I'm so excited but nervous too. Congrats @Chocaw!

ScottishJaggyNettle · 05/09/2018 18:03

Congratulations Chocaw ! Grin

Thund4 Only 5 more days to go till your EC Smile Hopefully you get lots of lovely eggs! Is it your first EC?

Ttc1 Are you going for 1 or 2 for transfer? Smile

Blue Im glad little un is going strong ! :) Is it too early for a fetal doppler to work? Im sure they work from about week 12 ish. It would be number 1 on my list of things to buy to keep my mind at rest.

Lizzy Good luck for friday! Smile

Thund4rcat · 05/09/2018 18:14

@scottishjaggynettle yes it's my first IVF round. Had a scan today, had 17 follicles! Bit concerned about OHSS but the clinic didn't seem concerned. Another scan Friday...

angelazul · 06/09/2018 18:54

Congratulations @chochaw!!!

Fab news @bluebird, hope you're feeling bit more relaxed now.

I've been keeping a low profile while stimming - struggling a bit with the emotional side of things after a poor response last cycle. Had egg collection today, & yet again we only got 1 egg. Have to wait until tomorrow to see if it has fertilised, but preparing myself for bad news. After this I'm done with ivf, so I guess we'll be looking at what our other options are.

Chochaw · 08/09/2018 21:13

Thanks everyone. We are over the moon but really nervous. My school has an outbreak of chicken pox this week with 5 kids in my class getting it. I had to go to doctors to get tested because I have never had it and luckily I have immunity to it.

That's super news Blue.

Thund4rcat - How did your scan go?

Lizzy- How did your appointment go?

Thund4rcat · 09/09/2018 11:04

@chocaw my follicles had gone down to 13 which I was actually happy about because of less risk of OHSS. Triggered last night and EC will be tomorrow.

I'm quite nervous about the sedation part because when I had GA in the past I really hated the going under feeling, felt like I was dying! I know this will not be GA but hope it won't feel anything like that.

angelazul · 09/09/2018 12:33

@thund4rcat I found the drugs at EC ok, just felt quite woozy. Good luck for tomorrow.

So it turns out our 1 wee egg fertilised & I had transfer this morning. Haven't a blooming clue what I should/shouldn't do now, so if any one has any tips they'd be very welcome

Thund4rcat · 10/09/2018 14:32

That's great you had a transfer today, luck @angelazul! Just had my EC which was quite painful but am fine now. They got 11 eggs.

angelazul · 12/09/2018 08:13

Hey @thund4rcat how are you doing now?

I'm am feeling so exhausted right now, & just want to sleep most of the time. I'm not working full time atm, but I might actually try to chat to my line manager today about reducing my hours a bit more.

Thund4rcat · 12/09/2018 08:52

@angelazul I am feeling better today, yesterday was awful, I vomited and was in a lot of pain all day.

Sorry to hear you're so tired. Time off work sounds like a good idea. I am back to work today but I work from home so it's quite easy.

One thing I am concerned about is I haven't had a BM since before my EC on Monday! I know the drugs can do this, but any tips on what I can do to help move things along?!? Sorry for TMI.
