We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Oh TTC Im so sorry to hear about your D&C but you are doing the right thing. Go in, Go to sleep and when you wake you can finaly process everything that has happend and i pray that you dont need to see anything. Its very traumatising and im thankfull that your waiting list was not too long for a D&C. Flowers I will be thinking of you tomorrow Flowers

ScottishJaggyNettle · 15/07/2018 21:30

Blue FX for wee bean to be correctly placed. Obviously other issues were in play so not totally the thyroid but I'm so glad that you have had your wee miracle. Smile

bluebird3 · 16/07/2018 10:26

Thanks scottish. I've been for the scan and everything looks good. It's in the right place and I saw a tiny heartbeat that looked strong.

I'm going to step back from the thread now as I'm conscious that talking about pregnancy on an infertility thread isn't on. I'll check back from time to time to cheer everyone on. If this doesn't work out I'll be back as i have had so much support from all you lovely ladies. Thanks for everything!

TTC How are you holding up ? Flowers xx

Ttc1london · 22/07/2018 13:26

Hi * I’m ok thanks, currently sitting on Brighton beach 😊 how is everyone doing?
We’re sending our embryos to Georgia whilst having all our testing done so 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thund4rcat · 23/07/2018 15:26

I am so sorry Ttc.

And good luck blue.

I was feeling very anxious and out of control because we'd been told a month ago our final blood and SA and ultrasound tests would be reviewed in ten days, and weeks were going by without them being looked at.

Finally today I wrote a complaint email to the NHS clinic and to PALS and they responded immediately. We now have our first ICSI info session on 3rd August and expect to start the treatment for my first round on 7th August.

So I feel a lot better now I have a schedule to look forward to and feel like I am making progress.

Hooray for being a pain in the arse to get things done.

Chochaw · 23/07/2018 16:21

Good luck Blue.

Ttc- FC for results to be back quickly and hope you can continue with your journey.

Well done Thund! I hope everything goes as planned and keep us posted.

I hate waiting for new cycle to start and not knowing if the follicles are gone or not. We have tried naturally this month as the doctor suggested but OPKs had no surge.

Hope everyone is doing ok Smile.

Thund4rcat · 03/08/2018 16:28

Just got all the drugs for my first cycle, start injecting on the 9th. Forgot to ask the nurse.... Should we even bother trying to get miraculously pregnant naturally this week before I start injecting next week? And what happens if I got naturally pregnant, would the drugs just kill the foetus anyway? I am due to ovulate tomorrow. And cycle day 22 when I start injecting would be too soon for a pregnancy to show up in tests....

Ttc1london · 03/08/2018 17:45

May as well go for it and if the drugs killed it hou wouldn’t know? X

bluebird3 · 04/08/2018 17:30

How's everyone doing? x

I have matched with a uk surrogate and we have our clinic appointments next week scary!! How are you? Xx

Lizzysmi · 05/08/2018 16:19

We are hoping to do a second cycle of IUI tomorrow or Tuesday - follicle currently around 17mm and ovulation test 'not quite positive' - I'm just worried about 'missing' the egg. We had to do half the clomid this time 'cos when we had the early miscarriage we'd had 3 follicles and doctor said if we stayed on the original dose we might get too many follicles to go ahead.
Hope you're all well.

bluebird3 · 08/08/2018 23:31

lizzy hope you've been able to start your IUI cycle!

ttc that's exciting! If you don't mind me asking, why have you decided to go the surrogate route? If you do mind, feel free to ignore!

I'm good for now. Just in a long waiting game. I had quite a bad fall in the bathroom so that's made me more anxious but I think I'm ok.

Chochaw · 10/08/2018 20:17

Hi,

@blue hope you are keeping well.

@ttc exciting times ahead! Good luck with your apps.

@Lizzy how do you get on with IUI.

I had baseline US todat and cysts have gone so I started Gonal F injections for IUI2. Nurse was hopeless though and argued with me telling me it was one cyst at left gone when I was told 2 at right. When she checked notes and scan pics I was correct. It makes me doubt her ability.

Ttc1london · 10/08/2018 22:52

Hi all @bluebird I think we decided that the problem must be me or the embryos after 4 miscarriages and 5 babies lost so we don’t want to use any frosties on me and expensive rounds of treatment when we could use them in someone with proven fertility. If none of our 6 frosties work it’s fair to say they are the problem, if they do work then we know I’m the problem and we can make more frosties for future surrogacy. I am still
Awaiting our NHS round and when that comes through I will do it. We have our appointment tomorrow at the clinic appointments we would do transfers tomorrow eek. Our surrogate went on Wednesday and used that clinic for her last surrogate baby.

I hope everyone else is doing well? How far are you along blue?

I finally stopped bleeding 3.5 weeks after my D&C! 🙌🏻

angelazul · 12/08/2018 18:03

Good luck @Ttc1 @Lizzy & @choc sounds like things are going full steam ahead!

Hope your keeping ok @blue, I'm sure the fall was pretty scary.

We'll be starting 2nd round of icsi once af arrives, prob in about 1.5-2 weeks. We've had so much waiting up until now that it still feels ages away, so I'll prob freak out when we actually get started Blush

Lizzysmi · 14/08/2018 15:10

Good luck guys and hope you're ok @bluebird3.

We are well into the dreaded two week wait post IUI - I was a bit unsure if we had the IUI at the right moment but we ended up just going for it last Monday! The first time we did IUI we didn't do a trigger injection but this time we did, so although I got a positive first response today (I know, I know I can't stop myself!) I'm thinking it could easily be a false positive from residual trigger injection?! Maybe?!

bluebird3 · 14/08/2018 15:57

ttc that sounds really sensible and quite exciting you've already been matched with a surrogate! Good luck!!!

angel I'm doing ok! Trying to keep my head down for the next 2 weeks till I have a scan. It's hard to not worry when you're used to getting bad news. 2 weeks will fly by and once you get started I'm sure you'll be fine. I always think active treatment is a bit easier as you're doing something (until tww that is!)

lizzy I'm not sure how long it takes for the trigger to leave your system. If you keep taking tests daily and it starts to fade then it might have been the trigger. If it stays the same in another week, it's probably a positive? Good luck hun.

Chochaw · 17/08/2018 19:28

Lizzy how are you getting on?

I had scan today and I have one follicle at 19mm and womb lining is 9mm so IUI2 is scheduled for Monday. I have been very sick with the Gonal F this time. Last injection of it tonight and then Ovidrel tomorrow. Has anyone got any suggestions to help with it? I don't want to take any medication for it but I feel rotten.x

Lizzysmi · 17/08/2018 20:32

Hi @Chochaw
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time with it- I'm afraid I don't know any specific remedies but plenty of rest, perhaps rehydration sachets if needed, and a nice hot water bottle possibly?
I'm afraid my pregnancy tests have been getting less distinct, so I think it was just the injection messing things up. We realised tonight that we'd only inserted a tenth of the total sperm this time compared to IUI cycle number 1- we are thinking of asking if there's some way we can concentrate with multiple samples... and now very seriously considering moving to IVF, which really scares me because of the egg collection, but at least has better success rates.
Good wishes to all x

Chochaw · 19/08/2018 09:40

Sickness has passed now Smile. IUI tomorrow.

Keep positive till you know you are out for sure. IVF is worth considering. The success rates are much higher than IUI and the side effects would be worth it if you get the results. Do your doctors recommend it? X

ScottishJaggyNettle · 19/08/2018 19:07

ttc I have my fingers crossed for you! I have always thought the women that volenteer to help people have a family are lovely selfless people and im glad that you have made the right decision for yourselfs as a couple Smile . Im sorry to hear that you and your partner have misscarried 5 babys that is heartbreaking! Flowers I have lost 2 and im already worried about if it happens again. 5 you are a strong lady and i hope the next transfer is succsessful for you all. Do you know when it is planned for?

Choc Good luck for tomorrow! Smile

Lizzy It is not so bad they sedate you for EC (I was terrified). I dont remember a thing ! Daily injections are ok. The only bad thing was that i had OHSS afterwards and it was pretty severe i was quite ill but statisticly i dont think that happens to many. They will be able to keep a good eye on you .

Blue Sorry about your fall Sad ! Have you had any intermediary scans ?
