Hi Smile

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Chivin - did you read that book It Starts With The Egg? They talk about all the BPA etc and i am trying to follow what she has said to a certain point.
What vitamins are you on?

chivintassle · 24/07/2017 17:17

Yeah that's mainly where I got it from, and I figured I maybe need a little help!
What aren't I taking!! So... 1000mcg optimised folate, gamma E, 240g RLipoic acid, 1000mg vitamin C, 300mg bio ubiquinol and pregnacare! Phew.

Lily35 · 24/07/2017 18:24

Ooo some of those I don't recognise!
Since my diagnosis of horrendously bad egg quality I am rattling:
Omega 3
Ubiquinol 300mg
Dhea
Vit B50 Complex
Maca
Shatavari
Royal Jelly
Pregnacare

Lily35 · 24/07/2017 18:25

Oh and extra Vit D and 500mg Vit C!

elle77 · 24/07/2017 18:52

Ladies- you will rattle if you move too quickly! I really hope the supplements make a difference- everything helps. Good luck everyone this week- sounds like a worrying week.

chivintassle · 24/07/2017 19:51

It does make your wee smell funny. Think that's the ubiquinol!
Not heard of shatarvari or maca 😬

Lily35 · 24/07/2017 21:35

Pregnacare makes my wee bright yellow! Grin

chivintassle · 24/07/2017 21:43

Maybe that's the same with me, I'm taking the max pregnacare, 2 green tablets and one omega a day, although I take all my vitamins with a berocca (just to be sure!) now THAT turns your wee illuminous 😂

Lily35 · 26/07/2017 14:52

Karen and Nisha - how are you both?

Nisha19 · 26/07/2017 15:02

Hi Lily! Hope you doing well!

I've been bleeding for three days so don't think this cycle has worked. I'm so devastated as had so much hope from this cycle. I'm due to the test on Saturday, no hopes really!

79Karen · 26/07/2017 15:14

Hi ladies, sorry to hear that Nisha, it's so disappointing isn't it, is this your first cycle?

these last few days have been pretty tough I've been so up and down, I'm glad I booked the week off I can't concentrate on anything. Test day for me is supposed to be Friday but we've got my nephews staying from tomorrow so we've decided to test tomorrow morning. I'd say I'm 90% sure it will be bfn, all symptoms have pretty much disappeared, no af but I think that might be the progesterone holding it off.

Lily35 · 26/07/2017 15:50

Sorry to hear the Nisha - I do understand how devastating it is for it not to work :(

Karen - I still have hope for you tomorrow x

79Karen · 26/07/2017 16:13

And now I think I've changed my mind about testing!! My DH was keen on pushing it back till Saturday but I said Thursday which he agreed to but now I'm thinking I just want to enjoy the next 2 days having my nephews over and then we have all Saturday to digest the news on our own

79Karen · 26/07/2017 16:15

At least then it will be an official result too as Saturday is after my otd

chivintassle · 26/07/2017 16:22

Was just thinking of you ladies in 2WW. Sorry to hear nisha hopefully they will learn for the next round.
karen I 'knew' I was out, but testing was almost a relief as then I wasn't still pretending, it did make it real. I think my grief came the few days before when I just felt different. Then testing was just going through the motions. Fingers crossed 🤞

79Karen · 26/07/2017 16:51

I was just reading my notes that the clinic gave me, if you get a bfn on your otd but are not bleeding you have to carry on with the progesterone and test again 3 days later. Therefore if I test tomorrow (a day early) and got a bfn, as I'm not bleeding I'd only have to string it out longer anyway! Right mind made up, I won't test till Saturday!

79Karen · 27/07/2017 08:08

Morning, thought I'd let you know that af showed up right on cue this morning, exactly 14 days after EC, at least my cycles are regular I suppose. Can't say I'm not disappointed but I'm also relived that I know for sure. I've got a busy couple of days planned and looking forward to throwing myself into life.

Lily35 · 27/07/2017 08:37

Ah Karen I'm sorry to hear that. It's heartbreaking but throwing yourself back into things does help. It really helped me. I found that I already felt I knew, so it was a relief after the hell of the 2WW.
Keep in touch tho because I'll be cycling again in the next few months x

elle77 · 27/07/2017 08:53

Terrible news Karen- gutted for you. Hope you are not feeling too bad (physically). Hopefully you will enjoy the next few days without it playing on your mind. Are there things to learn from this cycle that can help next time?

chivintassle · 27/07/2017 09:09

Thinking of you karen try and enjoy the time with your family. I'm sure you'll be keeping yourself busy. We're here for you 😘

79Karen · 27/07/2017 10:03

Hi everyone and thank you, you've all been brilliant through this process. I'm still feeling positive, like some of you going to look into improving egg quality. I think there is plenty to be improved in future cycles, to only get 3 eggs (2 mature and 1 fertilise) was a pretty poor response, I hope I get some answers as to what happened, at my last check my fsh was 4.2 and amh 16.4 so I'm not sure what happened?

chivintassle · 27/07/2017 11:50

Were you nhs? Or private? I'm not sure if it'd make a difference, but wondering how much they monitored you? I was nhs (at private clinic) but have moved clinics now for round 2. I don't know if the vitamins will make a difference, I had 8 retrieved but 6 mature and ended in 2 fertilised, one they weren't sure about.
I am moving forward on marginal returns principle. If vitamins improves my chances by a few %, not drinking a few %, exercise a few %, acupuncture a few %, scratch a few%, no plastics, phthalates parabens SLS etc a few % then I'm hoping that it will add up... that is what is keeping me going right now! Not sure if that helps at all 😬😂

Lily35 · 27/07/2017 12:36

Chivin - is your second round nhs too? Did you transfer funding? X

Nisha19 · 27/07/2017 13:04

So gutted for you Karen! I'm still on my periods and there's no worst feeling than knowing it hasn't worked. Have you done your pregnancy test? If not they still advice you to do it. I'm in the same boat as you, let's not lose hope I'm sure our next cycle will be successful! Xxx

79Karen · 27/07/2017 13:53

Hi Chivin, yes it was NHS but like you at a private clinic, after 7 days on stims my dose was upped which seemed to get things moving a bit more, maybe starting off at the higher dose would help? I'm also wondering if my trigger worked all that well as I had 8 follicles on my final scan but only 3 eggs?

Thanks Nisha, yeah I did a test this morning just to make sure and it was a bfn. Hoping for better luck in the next cycle
