IVF in May/JUNE 2017..cycle buddies!

Hi

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

Good luck to both of you- it will feel like the longest two weeks but hopefully it will be worth it.

Lily- I took the Pregnacare pre conception supplements (I actually got the his and hers box so OH had to take them too!) I think they recommend 3 months. I think acupuncture for the 3 months is supposed to be good too but as it's so expensive it may be too much!

Thanks Elle. Yep started on those aswell so I'm on so many now I'm rattling!! I'm giving them all at least 3 months and changing to a private clinic hopefully. I'm applying to transfer my last NHS cycle as I saw them on Sunday and they aren't prepared to give up on my own eggs yet.

Sounds like you are all prepared! Really good news that you get two rounds with NHS- that saves a lot of money! I think we are close to £8000 plus £500 for acupuncture!

this 2WW is driving me mad! My left boob (only) is very sore but I know that's the progesterone. I've been having a few cramps etc but as I only had a 2dt, today would be the day others would have a 5dt so still early days. Keep googling stuff and winding myself up.

Hi Karen! My chest is sore, its been like that for a week. I have cramps too on and off. My bladder feels full most of the time. My legs are achy too. I can't sit for long, I find it hard. Feel better when I stretch my back and lie down.
2ww is too long for me too.

Hi Lily, I'm doing ok, I'm not feeling too hopeful that this cycle has worked, no signs or anything yet to indicate it hasn't but I think it's a long shot, but you never know I suppose. This cycle didn't go great so at least there is plenty of room for improvement if it doesn't work. I always said to myself that the 1st cycle would be a bit trial and error but we'll see.

How are you, are you able to try naturally whilst you wait for round 2?

I'm ok, trying naturally - not that there seems to be a huge chance. I do feel a bit more like me though. It's nice to be normal for a while.
I have my fingers crossed for you Karen - I just don't think you can ever know. The 2WW did my head in though !!

Thank you, for the first time I've actually told a few people about what we're doing and everyone has been so supportive. I'm ready to conclude on this 1st cycle one way or another. Got a busy weekend planned and have next week off work, hoping the time passes quickly.

Have googled so much (too much) read a few things about difficult transfers diminishing chances. Whilst mine didn't take long she did have to change catheters as the soft one she said kept bending in my cervix, she then said it might be due scaring which no one has ever mentioned before? Who knows? I have loads of questions but not worth exploring until I know the outcome of this cycle

Yes nothing you can do until the result and then you can move forward. Or not! Fingers crossed.
There is nothing worse though when hearing other things that haven't been mentioned before - it's happened to me before. Especially when at transfer they said I had one good egg and then at my review he said that was bad as well. I think they just need to be honest.

At the time I thought it was fine, she said it happens sometimes so I don't really know, it only took a few mins, nothing was said about it being bad but then I read something about the changing of a catheter possibly indicates a difficult transfer? But that was a study done in the late 1990's so I'm hoping things would have improved since then. Anyway nothing can be done now. Test date isn't till next Friday

She changed catheters on me too - for a bigger one I think. They had trouble getting it 'round the corner' on me too. I didn't think anything of it as the embryos didn't come out until its was all slotted in place. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know xx

Hi ladies! I just wanted to ask if it's normal. I woke up today in pain, it's like period pains. Sorry for too much information but I went toilet and realised I bled. It fresh red blood and a small clot came out. I am so worried now as it's not like spotting and brown blood. Has any of you experienced it? What does it mean?

What day past transfer are you Nisha?

How are you now Nisha? This is my first ivf cycle so I have no idea what to expect or what's normal im afraid, when is your test day? I'm finding today really tough, have this week off work and my mind is in worry mode!

I had the embryo transfer on Sunday 16th July and today is my 8th day since transfer. I'm having period pains and bleeding occasionally. I don't know if it's normal. I phoned the hospital and the nurse said that there is no intervention for this. They can't say anything at this point. Asked me wait and do the test on Saturday.
I'm just too worried as it's like I'm on my period. I know they say spotting is normal but it does not seem like spotting to me.

I'm ok but just too worried with whats happening as did not expect to bleed. I've been off work and don't go back till Thursday.

Have you been getting any pregnancy symptoms?

From about 3 days after starting the progesterone I got symptoms, sore boobs, cramps and tiredness, they have got progressively stronger over the past few days but could just be the accumulation of progesterone, so I have no idea, still wouldn't be surprised with a bfn

When do you do the pregnancy test Karen?

My OTD is Friday but I'm going to see how the next few days go, Thursday will be 14days since EC so going from a normal cycle AF is due then and I usually spot from day 13

Hi Chivin, how are you doing? Are you doing another fresh cycle?

Yes, so I am on the pill now and hopefully injections start on Monday. I'm taking so many vitamins it's untrue, will have to see if it works! I've also quit plastic and parabens and phthalates...
We are going to have any that get to blasto tested, and they freeze them as results take 2 weeks. The acupuncturist I'm seeing says that FET works better for some people as body is less in turmoil. We're trying to be as pragmatic as possible about it all. Depending on what this EC yields I might go straight again for another lot of EC to get a few (1 or 2) more there as egg quality seems to be the issue with age. That will also give the vitamins and everything time to take effect as I think it's coming up to 2 months not the 3 'everyone!' talks about.
Apart from that, all is ok!!!
I'm really nervous and excited for you all left in the 2ww 😘
