FET Sept/Oct

Hi ladies,
I am due to start an FET in Sept/Oct and wondered if anyone else was too?! Had my first cycle of IVF in August but due to fluid in my uterus and thin lining had to freeze everything. I seem to always have fluid mid cycle, including natural cycles. Very worried that it will always be a problem and will never get to use my embryos. Having a hysteroscopy the week after next to check incase anything in there but doc suspects not. Would be great to have a few buddies! xxx

Thanks Banana! The bench of boredom is the worst! The waiting and wondering is pure torture. Your dr is right though, you just don't know! It might work but it might not - but at least you'll have tried and explored all possible routes. Then by the time that happens you'll know in your minds what the next route is and whether you're prepared/want to do that. Hang in there for now and we are here to keep you company. Have you got anything nice planned to look forward to over Christmas?

I've got my 30th in 3 weeks! Not sure how I'll feel about celebrating as who knows what will happen next week. But Christmas either way will be a nice distraction, I LOVE Christmas!

Bear, I'm no expert but slow and steady worked for me! And from what I've read there is a lot of success with that approach IF you find yourself there again def worth exploring.

Slow and steady seems to be doing what it should for me. I'm having egg collection on Monday 😊

Good luck with 2ww Lolly.

Lolly2803 · 11/11/2016 12:22

How exciting Blue! Hope you're getting lots of rest this weekend. I felt so bloated and puffy before my EC! Make sure you let us know how you get on. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Thank you Lolly. I'm feeling so bloated and I'm sure I can feel the weight of my ovaries Hmm I am planning on getting lots of rest this weekend. Also I have the next 2 weeks off work so will be planning a little break with DH after ET now that I know when that might be.

Lolly2803 · 11/11/2016 19:44

Oh that's a great idea!! I haven't worked this week apart from Mon and half of Tues but am back on Monday. Think it'll make the week go quicker.
I remember that feeling well, just felt heavy! You can def feel everything! I was so ready for EC the day I had them out. Although I'm feeling quiet bloated now too from all the drugs I'm taking. Not as bad as EC though, that's more uncomfortable.I also was very sore after for days and it hurt a bit when I weed!

I'm still a bit crampy. They gave me an infusion yesterday at ET to stop cramps and I've got to take a tablet 3 times a day to help. Been fine all day but little bit tonight. Think it started due to my progesterone being low but now it's back up they just come every now and again, although much more mild! Just a worry that's all! xx

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 11/11/2016 21:47

I'm really worried about my cramping. Hoping it's not my progesterone level again. I've been taking the 2 x cyclogest and 1 x progesterone injection a day but the cramps are mild tonight.
The injection did make my levels jump up so surely they can't have gone back down? Argh worried! Got another blood test Monday but might call the clinic tomorrow....what do you ladies think? xxx

Bear2014 · 12/11/2016 07:16

Hi Lolly I have always had cramping in all of my 2ww. Particularly with DD and that was the one that stuck around! Could be the progesterone making your uterus feel heavy or could be implantation! That's why the 2ww makes everyone mental. Hang in there xx

Lolly2803 · 12/11/2016 08:13

I'm just worried about the low progesterone cramping carrying on! I took an extra cyclogest last night in my worry! Feel bad now. Also took two of the cramp tablets incase. I can't imagine it's a sign as yesterday was only 1dp5dt! I'm not symptom spotting as I'm on sooo many drugs it is more likely to be them than anything. Didn't sleep well last night worrying and thinking cramping can't be good for them.!! Going to be a long week!! They should sedate us for the week! Xx

Bear2014 · 12/11/2016 10:16

Can totally understand the worry. But if one of the blasts was hatching it could have absolutely started to implant xx

AgainPlease · 12/11/2016 19:41

Lolly try not to freak out. Progesterone mimics early pregnancy symptoms and cramping is an early pregnancy symptom. Progesterone holds off AF so please try not to knicker-check and symptom-spot too much.

I also wouldn't self-medicate and up your progesterone dosage without consultation Grin

Lolly2803 · 12/11/2016 19:48

I was just worried my progesterone was dropping again. But I've stuck to my usual doses today. Not cramped apart from the odd twinge so just holding out till my progesterone blood test on Monday. I hate progesterone - makes you feel so crap. I've felt so tired and sluggish all day and sore boobs. Just got dinner in the oven and the fire on and having a lazy day tomorrow ready to go back to work on Monday.

What's everyone else been up to? xx

Lolly2803 · 12/11/2016 20:46

The cramps are back tonight! They seem to be not here in the day and then come in the evening. I take my progesterone injection in the morning and 1 cyclogest and then 1 cyclogest in the eve....

I'll ask the clinic on Monday when I go for my progesterone bloods.

OP posts:
csa26 · 12/11/2016 20:51

With you on the hating progesterone Lolly! MY boobs are SO sore! I had cramping for nearly two weeks while waiting for my pregnancy test too - cramping can be a good sign I think as it may be your womb's response to suddenly having a weird little parasite burrowing its way into the lining Wink.

I'm getting pretty fed up of the Cyclogest - eating lots of brown linseeds has helped with the bloating, but it's starting to get really sore putting it in - getting a burning sensation when I do it Blush.

Lolly2803 · 12/11/2016 20:56

I don't actually mind the cyclogest I'm not sure what I hate the most. The progesterone injections aren't nice so on balance they're worse I think. Or actually the clexane injections really sting after and leave a little purple dot on my tummy - I'll look like I've got chicken pox after long!

Thing is the cramps I just associate with AF or the ones I had on Tues when my progesterone was low although I also had a spot of brown then.. So I'm worrying! Although it was 11.2 on Tues and then on Weds after I'd had 2 injections in was 316 and I've kept up with both injections and cyclogest. I've not had any spotting though and the cramps only seem to come at this time! During my FET they gave me an infusion to stop be cramping so I've got this thing in my mind about the cramps knocking the embryos about and stopping them from implanting! Weird I know! But you know what this process does to our minds.
I've also got 2 "parasites" as i had 2 embryos transferred. 2 day 5 blasts xxxx

Hope you're hanging in there Lolly and everyone has had a good weekend Smile

Question for those who have had an endo scratch in the past - did you get any pains from it a couple of weeks later? It's a week too late to be period pain and a week to early for ovulation. Kind of just a 'sore' uterus? Xx

Lolly2803 · 13/11/2016 16:00

I'm ok thanks. Feeling the delights of the progesterone!!!

I had a scratch when I did my IVF cycle but I don't remember being sore a week later. But maybe it's healing and it's causing a bit of discomfort? xxx

Bear2014 · 13/11/2016 16:07

I suppose that is the point of it! Will mention at my scan this week.

Ugh - progesterone really is vile! X

Lolly2803 · 13/11/2016 16:26

What's happening this week for you Bear? How you feeling?

Ugh I know! I'm so tired, sore boobs etc. Makes you feel bloated and just gross doesn't it! I'm relaxing on the sofa with the fire on!! xx

bananafish81 · 13/11/2016 17:13

Sorry you ladies are suffering from the progesterone - I was always OK on it, both the Cyclogest and the Lubion. Although by the time I was on it was when I was off all my pain meds and was in so much pain I didn't really have much headspace to feel anything else.

Hope the sore feeling abates soon bear x

Lolly2803 · 13/11/2016 17:26

Banana! How are you? What have you been up to? You probably did get the progesterone side effects but your other pain masked it! xxx

bananafish81 · 13/11/2016 17:45

Good luck with EC blue!

Nothing to report here Lolly, just very quiet and dull. Two more friends had babies this week - both got pregnant after me, one of whom it's the first child, one the second. So the baby machine continues on!

Bloods tomorrow, although that'll just tell us what's going on with my estradiol levels. Scan a week tomorrow - although even if the scan looks good it doesn't mean anything as my lining has looked good every time before and not got a bleed

So just plodding on really. X

bananafish81 · 13/11/2016 17:47

I had the opposite with progesterone - normally most people get backed up on it. The weeks I was on progesterone were when I was off my pain meds and I had the most glorious experience of daily bowel movements without the aids of daily laxatives. So my digestion was happy as a clam on progesterone as it wasn't being slowed down by mega strong opioids!!

Bear2014 · 13/11/2016 17:51

Sorry Banana Sad Well today would have been my due date for the one I miscarried in April, which sucks. Two of my best friends are due in the next fortnight and we were supposed to be mat leave buddies. But trying to focus on this cycle, then Christmas.

Got a scan on Weds Lolly to check lining and lead follicle or something for my natural cycle.

From weeks 0-12 with DD I was all about the Fybogel and Preparation H. It was a sexy time Grin

Lolly2803 · 13/11/2016 18:04

Haha Bear. I feel so unsexy at the moment it's ridiculous! I've put on weight this year so I'm feeling a bit blobish. I'm missing being super slim and feeling good. It's my 30th birthday coming up so need to find something to wear that doesn't make me feel awful!
Let us know how your scan goes. Hopefully won't be too much longer till transfer!

Banana I had the same for the first few days or so then kinda getting a bit backed up but never mind. Can't complain in then hope it's for the greater good! I'm trying to mentally prepare for the worst but when there's hope us humans can't help but cling on can we!

Thinking of you both during these tough moments. We'll all get there one way or another I know it. But I know how tough things can be. Nowhere near as hard for me but one of my best friends keeps sending me pics of one of her friends who I vaguely know that's pregnant saying "looks how she's growing"....they have no idea about a thing so totally innocent but still!! xxx
