FET Sept/Oct

Hi ladies,
I am due to start an FET in Sept/Oct and wondered if anyone else was too?! Had my first cycle of IVF in August but due to fluid in my uterus and thin lining had to freeze everything. I seem to always have fluid mid cycle, including natural cycles. Very worried that it will always be a problem and will never get to use my embryos. Having a hysteroscopy the week after next to check incase anything in there but doc suspects not. Would be great to have a few buddies! xxx

Yep I'm feeling probably the lowest I ever have in my entire life. Did the second progesterone shot this morning - had to get DH to do it as I couldn't reach around to do it! Those progesterone jabs are nasty! Sore afterwards!!

Am going in this afternoon for scan and bloods so I'll update you all then. I'm not feeling very hopeful though. Can't believe this is happening. Every time I get some good news a pile of shit comes crashing down. I'll never get my hopes up/excited again. xxx

Let us know how you get on this afternoon xx

Lolly2803 · 09/11/2016 16:38

So update for you. Scan showed my lining was 6.5mm - it was 7mm before I started cyclogest and had a triple layer. It was also a different doctor measuring it.
Dr said it looked really good, no fluid and regular shape. Didn't look like it was breaking down.

The nurse said to me that starting progesterone gets rid of the triple layer and also can compact the lining a bit so it looks like it's shrunk a bit. Banana have you heard of this?

Did my bloods and now just waiting to see if my progesterone level is higher after my jab last night and one this morning on top of my cyclogest. They will call me tonight.

I'm drained.

Lolly, that sounds really great! Banana's the expert - I know nothing about all of this - but it sounds like eveyrthing's going as it should... This process really does put you through the wringer, doesn't it?

Sorry I've been quiet guys: went back to work this week and my Mondays and Tuesdays are pretty nuts (leave the house at 6:30am, get home again at 9:30pm) so I've just been running around. SOO glad I had the two weeks off post-embryo transfer though.

I've been HORRIBLY bloated (from wind Blush) and it was really painful, basically from egg collection on 18th Oct to a couple of days ago - by the time I got my positive I was bigger than some of my friends were at 4 or 5 months! Did anyone else have this in early-stage pregnancy? Pretty sure it's because of all the progesterone shoved up the hoo-ha - not sure why I have to keep taking it when the HCG would surely be making my body produce progesterone by now... Anyway, at the weekend I discovered linseeds which are full of fibre but unlike most fibrous things, not full of carbohydrates (which always make me balloon) and can fit into my normal trousers again now :-) So if anybody else has that problem with Cyclogest, I recommend pouring linseeds into all your food :-)

Bear, how was your scan? Bluerose, hi!

Lolly: so glad to hear it went ok today. Is tomorrow still transfer day?

Bear2014 · 09/11/2016 18:50

Lolly that's really good news, what a rollercoaster week you are having!! Hope you can go ahead with transfer tomorrow. I've heard of the progesterone compacting your lining so that sounds normal.

My baseline scan was fine and i've got another a week today. Will be tracking ovulation from next tues.

Csa - yes with DD I was in stretchy pants from day 1. After 12 weeks I shrunk back a bit which was weird - but definitely concluded that it was bloat not baby. She made up for that later though, at 9.5lb Grin

Lolly2803 · 09/11/2016 18:52

Let's see Bear. I'd feel better if I wasn't still cramping. Waiting for the clinic to call for my bloods still. I'm so drained from it all.

Good news you're well under way! Super exciting Bear! Eekkk!!!

OP posts:
Blueroses99 · 09/11/2016 19:22

That's positive Lolly.

Bear great news about the scan.

CSA I don't think the body starts producing progesterone so early after IVF, I took it until 13wks last time. Thanks for the tip on linseed!

So I had my scan today and there are follicles! I think there are 6 on one side and 7 on the other. As I'm looking for quality rather than quantity this time, that's sounds good to me. Some are large (17mm) but there are a lot of smaller ones that need to catch up, so they are going to increase my dose. I was waiting for them to call to advise my new dose of Gonal F, but I've had a busy day and they haven't been in touch so I'll have to contact them first thing. I finished all the Menopur I had yesterday and was told I would be dispensed more after today's scan, and then I could take today's dose. I should have taken it at the clinic when the nurse dispensed it but I forgot. So I came to work and had to shoot up in the disabled toilet 😳💉 Just thinking how dodgy it felt! Next scan Friday.

bananafish81 · 09/11/2016 19:30

Sorry for lack of personals, all kicked off at work so will be another late one. Just to say Lolly it is completely normal for the lining to compact under the influence of progesterone - mine always thinned, and it's supposed to change appearance and lose its triple line. Compacting lining all good!

Are you on the progesterone in oil injections? Can you ask for Lubion which is a subcutaneous progesterone injection you can do in your tummy? Less painful and more convenient as you can jab yourself xx

Lolly2803 · 09/11/2016 19:45

Update from me - my progesterone has gone from 11.2 to 316! All go for ET tomorrow!! I'm still cramping a lot so I'm hoping between now and tomorrow my lining doesn't start breaking down! Dr said if I'm still cramping tomorrow she can do something 30 mins before ET to stop it. Literally feel like I'm going to come on so still very anxious and worried.

Boo to the late one Banana. Hope you're still enjoying it at least! Thanks for the reassurance. I've been hoping you'd share some of your wisdom xxxx

Oh and I'm on the ones that go in the top of your bum! These are working so I'm reluctant to change incase it affects anything but if it becomes unbearable I'll def ask!

csa26 · 09/11/2016 20:52

Oooh that's such great news Lolly! So excited for tomorrow! Smile

Bear thanks, good to know I'm not the only one! I'm not quite back to normal size but more importantly the pain and discomfort is gone - good job I ended up having two weeks off as I wasn't good for much last week- 2nd week off entirely decided by the family I work for at v short notice, so not my decision at all but it really worked out Grin

bananafish81 · 10/11/2016 07:41

Good luck today Lolly!!

Lolly2803 · 10/11/2016 08:02

Thanks Banana! Feeling very nervous! Will let you know how I get on. Thanks for everything and all your advise. If it wasn't for you mentioning the Neupogen I wouldn't have even got this far xxx

Good Luck Lolly!! Thinking of you today xxx

Lolly2803 · 10/11/2016 16:56

Well ladies I'm PUPO! Wow I never thought I'd say those words!!

The embryos thawed perfectly and we had 2 Day 5 embryos transferred. 1 x 4AA and 1 x 4AB. The embryologist said they were beautiful!

I've got to go back on the 19th for a blood test.

Thanks for all your support!! xxx

Blueroses99 · 10/11/2016 17:57

Lolly that's fabulous news, so exciting! Keep everything crossed for you x

I didn't increase my dose after all. The doctor who scanned me (and wanted to increase my dose) conferred with my consultant and decided to keep me where I am. Hoping things look good at the next scan tomorrow.

Lolly2803 · 10/11/2016 18:40

Oh that's good blue! Let us know how you get on. Exciting times ahead!!

csa26 · 10/11/2016 18:57

Oooooh! So exciting Lolly! I really hope your little beans throve in there after everything you've done to get them there!

Good luck for tomorrow Bear

Lolly2803 · 10/11/2016 19:01

Thanks csa!! I hope they are snuggling in. One of them was hatching before it went in!
Trying not to get my hopes up though as whenever I do I'm always disappointed. Got to prepare for the worst and hope for the best!!

Hi everyone. :) Just wanted to say I'm still lurking and catching up when I can. Quietly either cheering all of you on or sending good thoughts to those in need of them.

Welcome, Blueroses. :) I do recognise you from another thread. I'll be glad to see your updates. Good luck for tomorrow's scan.

Great news, Lolly!

Lolly2803 · 11/11/2016 06:58

Congratulations Lolly! Wonderful news :)

Good luck blue and bear!

Thinking of you again

Hello to mist and csa and hope all is well

Nothing to report here as ever. Just on the bench of boredom. Bloods on Mon and scan a week later. Probably to show nothing then wait for a period not to arrive. Lather rinse repeat.

I think we're just going through the motions until we agree we're flogging a dead horse, but ultimately as my Dr says, without a crystal ball, we can't know what will happen, so have to give it enough time to have said we've had a good run at it.

Bear2014 · 11/11/2016 09:26

HI Mist, hope you are well. What is your plan now, are you having a break til the new year?

Nothing going on for me for the next week at least but thanks for the good wishes Grin

Banana and Blue, watching your chat about stimming with interest. I do fully expect to have to re-visit in the new year and I only stimmed for 8 days last time. I think this may be partly to blame for crappy eggs.

Have a good weekend all xx
