Hello!

We had IVF ICSI in January 2014 which resulted in our little boy born in October 2014. We started trying again when he's was 9 months hoping that nature would be on our side this time but after 3 months we decided to speak to the FC again to see if it was even worth bothering to try naturally. It wasn't and so we are to start IVF again very soon.

Looking for others going through the same thing if possible to be my buddy's Smile

Good luck for next week Gilbert! I'm hopefully the following week. Xxx

Smiley dh is a GP and says it's fine as long as it's not into a vein so you'll be fine.

sunshineonarainyday1 · 28/07/2016 20:31

Ps good luck for your scan Mon

How's everyone else doing?

Smileybobs29 · 28/07/2016 21:06

Thanks for that sunshine you have put my mind at rest! We do worry about everything don't we... Well I certainly do anyway! Thank you, I can't believe how much quicker the short protocol is in comparison to last time, couple of weeks and I'll be on that dreaded 2ww already!
How are you getting on with things sunshine?
X

sunshineonarainyday1 · 30/07/2016 07:34

Ok thanks smiley. After having my fet cancelled back in May/June I've been down regging this time round. Started oestrogen tablets on Tue and got another scan next thu to check lining thickening up lovely and all looking good for transfer following week. Just want to get to transfer stage now. Remind me, smiley, are you doing a fresh cycle?

Smileybobs29 · 30/07/2016 08:41

I remember now yes, brilliant think we'll have transfer at a simalar time I think! Yes I'm having a fresh cycle X

Smileybobs29 · 01/08/2016 15:39

So this is happening so much more faster then I remember plus that things were very different last time around, but my OR is on Friday so ET early next week! So nervous! Wish me luck! X

One frostie on board here! OTD is next Thurs (my mum's birthday) - I kept all my pregnancy tests from the last round and I started testing with FRER on 6dp5dt and got my first positive then...will see how long I can hold out for this time! When the nurse was discharging me she talked about how if it failed we could crack on with another cycle straight after - we've still got three in the freezer - that kind of chat would have devastated me before the birth of dd but now I think I feel v pragmatic about our chances. I bet I get more nervous as the wait goes on though! How are you doing, smiley and sunny? Xx

Smileybobs29 · 02/08/2016 19:08

Good luck Gilbert! Hope the Frostie sticks, keeping everything crossed for you!
I hate that dreaded 2ww and I just know it's going to drag like mad, how are you finding it?
I'm getting on ok things developing really nicely, another scan tomorrow to check size of follicles and thickness and then eggs collected on Friday! X

GilbertBlythe4JM · 05/08/2016 10:28

Still in bed in the same stinky socks! Can't stop reading old chat boards about when people got their first BFP. ....However I haven't had any cramping since transfer day which is making me feel less positive about it all. . . Have you guys got yr dates for transfer yet?

Smileybobs29 · 05/08/2016 11:56

My transfer is monday or Wednesday, most likely Wednesday if all goes to plan, then it's the waiting game! Positive thinking Gilbert! I don't remember cramping when I got my bfp last time so won't be a bad sign, think positive! X

GilbertBlythe4JM · 05/08/2016 14:53

Did you have egg collection today smiley? How did it go? Xx

Smileybobs29 · 05/08/2016 15:46

Yes all done about 10 this morning, went well 12 eggs collected in total so hoping some decent ones will come from them, clinic will call me 8 am Monday morning. xx

GilbertBlythe4JM · 05/08/2016 16:01

Good luck! Hopefully lots of lovely embryos xx

GlummyMummy · 06/08/2016 20:11

Hi all! Was on this thread a few months back and here I am at my second attempt to conceive child number two! Had embryo transfer this morning so now at that worrying time of what can I do and not do during the two week wait, particularly with an energetic toddler who launches herself at me regularly!

On another subject, does anyone happen to know what supplements are safe after embryo transfer? Been on CoQ10, Vit E, Alpha Lipoic Acid for egg quality as I have low AMH but not sure if these are ok to take during two week wait.

GilbertBlythe4JM · 07/08/2016 06:49

Been awake since 02.45 thinking about testing - am 5dp5dt - just cracked and tested. BFP! Bloody hell!! I've had a chemical before so not getting too excited but still - bloody hell! Have attached pic. I now know I'll be testing like a maniac til OTD on Thursday! Xx

GemBee · 07/08/2016 07:37

Yay Gilbert can't beat that feeling! Hope that's a good omen for all those waiting atm. Not cramping was a positive sign for me, cramps mean periods coming.

GilbertBlythe4JM · 07/08/2016 08:24

Omg and I just came downstairs to a letter saying I'm getting a two grand PPI rebate! I am going to buy a lottery ticket today!! Smile

Smileybobs29 · 07/08/2016 09:09

Congratulations Gilbert! That's fantastic news!!!! It's so hard trying not to test isn't it and those 2 weeks feel like years, I managed to wait until otd last time God knows how think I was just too afraid! Did you have 1 blasty put back Gilbert? Xx

GilbertBlythe4JM · 07/08/2016 09:28

I did - I'm already forty and a half and really did not want twins!! Up until very recently, my clinic had a policy of always transferring two during fet, but they did a review of success rates and realised their fet pregnancies had a 45% multiples rate! Eek.

Smileybobs29 · 07/08/2016 09:44

Forgot you had a Frostie cycle too that's amazing! Wow big odds, they must have some very good success rates your clinic xx

GilbertBlythe4JM · 08/08/2016 06:13

Oh god - now feel like an idiot - line much MUCH fainter this morning. ...flashbacks to our CP in round three...

Smileybobs29 · 08/08/2016 08:26

Try not to be disheartened it's not over yet! If that line is due to drugs and things doesn't mean your not, the line just may take while longer to appear! Why don't you try and hold off until otd? I know that will be hard but maybe best for your sanity!? Xx

GilbertBlythe4JM · 08/08/2016 09:01

I had an fet so no drugs to trigger that first line. I must be preggo but am I preggo enough?!! Thursday suddenly a LONG way away.....xx

Smileybobs29 · 08/08/2016 18:15

Aww damn forgot about that!! Just try stay calm keep yourself busy, like you say no drugs could have triggered it so must be a little too early that's all!
Clinic phoned me first thing I'm going in for ET Wednesday so 5 day transfer for me! Xx

GilbertBlythe4JM · 08/08/2016 18:38

Oh that's fantastic news Smiley! Will you have one or two put back? Xx
