Anyone else having IVF for second child after IVF for first?!?

We had IVF ICSI in January 2014 which resulted in our little boy born in October 2014. We started trying again when he's was 9 months hoping that nature would be on our side this time but after 3 months we decided to speak to the FC again to see if it was even worth bothering to try naturally. It wasn't and so we are to start IVF again very soon.

Looking for others going through the same thing if possible to be my buddy's

Hi smiley, i start a medicated FET next week too (if AF shows up ) and my protocol is looooong! There are two regimes though depending on the average cycle length so yours might be shorter than mine, which is:
Start DR (burseralin...sp?) day two of cycle, daily injections.
Call clinic first day of next cycle, get booked in for scan approx. two weeks later to check ovaries are quiet...daily injections throughout this whole period.
If all okay on scan start daily tablets (prognova...sp?)
Go back for a couple of scans over next few weeks to monitor lining and (hopefully) get booked in for ET at some point.

So I reckon my best case is 7/8 weeks, worst case a lot longer if period decides not to bother.

As far as I know where cycles are regular and less than 35 days, the process is quicker. If that's you, you'd be starting DR on day 21 of your cycle.

Mine must be a slightly different routine then as I called first day of my last period and I start taking notheristerone day 21, not sure what's next I have an appointment at the clinic Thursday to go through drugs procedures and collect them sign forms etc I remember the woman telling me it's the same length of time as my fresh cycle which didn't seem to be long at all, I had short protocol. But when I phoned yesterday to see when my appointment was as my letter they supposedly sent over a week ago still hasn't arrived she said I had an app thurs then a scan 14th April and 8th may which is bizarre to me how can they be so far apart and so long away! I'm hoping it's some sort of mistake so I'll be quizzing them Thursday! I've looked at the timeline in their information pack and it's around 7 weeks so this just makes no sense! Hence me asking you on this thread! I hate this game! Xx

Oh I misread you've just put I'd start dr day 21 so that's me ha ha, yeah my periods are usually 30 days although was 32 this month x

Not great news from me I'm afraid. At the scan (8 weeks) there was a sac but no baby. Even though this has happened to us before I was shocked because I've been having lots of symptoms. Waiting for the bleeding to start now and/or medical management.

Can't believe we've got to go through all of this again. It's shit.

I didn't mean to kill the thread! I have been in limbo waiting for it all to start. Think the worse of the bleeding is over now, after second attempt with the tablets (first time stopped working). Feeling a bit better now the physical bit is almost done.

Thinking about next steps. I've got lots of questions-mainly why a chromosomally normal embryo still didn't develop. We've got no embryos left so we'll need to do a fresh cycle, think we'll do PGS again... no holiday for us this year!

Hi Holly. What a horrible few weeks you've had. It's just so bloody unfair. Do you have a follow up appointment booked to ask your questions? I hope you get some answers that help plan for your next round.

Not much to report here. Had a few rough days on the burserelin the first week but seem to have stabilised now. I'm just in limbo really waiting for my period so we can move on to the next stage...realised yesterday that I'll run out of burserelin before that happens thanks to my stupidly long cycles so need to sort that out this week.

Yep I've started scan tomorrow to see how things are progressing i'm on buserilin and patches at the mo, seems long after doing He short protocol last time so seems to be taking forever!

Really sorry to hear you have had a tough time Holly. Hope you are able to get some answers at your next appointment. Hope everyone else is ok. I've taken a bit of a break from the thread to try and concentrate on this latest FET. Well.... we had two very good grade embryos transferred this morning. It's our final try at this horrible journey and we decided it's all in or nothing! We only had two frozen and we kinda thought one of them may not have survived the thaw. But, no, both were looking similar quality so we just went for it! Eeek! This two week wait may be even more stressful! Just feels so final as this is definitely our last try. Hope everyone is ok xx

. I had unexplained infertility with my son and did icsi to have him! We've been trying really Since dh was born but nothing works and he's 3 now so ivf is def the route for us the hardest part is there being no real reasoning as to why we cannot conceive naturally!!
We have had three failed attempts at ivf this time round and on weds I jut had frozen transfer praying this time it takes otherwise I might lose my mind!!!!!

Hello also new to this thread but have been a silent lurker for a while

DS is almost one and we had her via IVF. Currently on the 2ww after having a frozen embryo transferred on Monday.

hhno2 no tips here, trying my hardest not to think about it but constantly checking for every/any sign!

The thread has been quite quiet lately..how is everyone doing?

Well I am on day 10 after 5 day blasto frozen transfer and I just got my bfp by blood test was sure I was out after slight pink bleeding yesterday but seems it was implantation this was our fourth round of treatment and we finally did it! Never been so shocked on my life .

Congratulations! I am being cautiously optimistic too as I got a feint positive this morning after my transfer last week. I need to test on Friday and confirm with the clinic. I've had all the symptoms I had with my first successful cycle. Very different to my failed ones so fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone!

Hi Smiley, sorry, just noticed your message. No idea how many took. Symptoms are quite mild but since this is my first FET it's obviously different from the fresh cycle when my daughter was born. We have an early scan on the 25th to see what's going on in there! How is everyone getting on? This post has gone a little quiet! Sending positive thoughts to you all x

Not great for me, supposed to have transfer this week but seems I haven't responded aswell as I should have to the patches, so i'm not as thick as I should be, so have to continue with them and take oral tablets too to try thicken me up, then scan mid week to check again, all being well they will have worked so put me behind a week 😢 just hoping it's not going to Be a string of bad luck now.

Yes i am, it's been a looooong cycle this feels like. It would have been my due date on Sunday, on one hand gone so quickly and another seems to have taken forever to get to this point again! I'm so anxious and nervous this is going to be an awful wait!

Hi just thought I'd let you know I did get my bfp, just had the one transferred, but it split and I was pregnant with twins, but at My scan they couldn't find heartbeats. Devastated to be back to square one I just don't know whats next. X
