Anyone starting IUI soon? Looking for some support

I've been offered three rounds of stimulated IUI after ttc for 8 years.

We have undiagnosed infertility but I'm 36 and can feel the clock ticking.

I'm expecting af to arrive around the 1st of December and I'll start my injections for the first cycle soon after.

Is anyone else in a similar boat?

Not booked in for my blood test until the 26th. I had the IUI on Monday, what do you think is the earliest I can take a test at home?

Would that make the 26th day 12 of your 2ww? To be honest you're probably best just waiting for the blood test as a home test may not be accurate at that stage anyway and the trigger could still be in your system until about day 10.

I'm trying not to get excited but I'm having cramping today. I had it yesterday too but it was pretty light and I thought I might be imagining it.

We're out at a show and I'm on mn in the interval Blush

Could be implantation :)

Wouldn't it be great if this was a 'lucky' thread?!

I'm still feeling pretty gutted about dh's results the other day but he's had his ultrasound appointment sent through and we only have to wait until the 29th. We are both hoping they find something and can give us some form of explanation! I think I'm feeling so down about it because my lining was so good this month and had a lovely big folicle too! But I guess its not over until it's over and all that...

Day 12 does seem rather early to test, FMF. I would definitely not do a HPT before then as the trigger shot might still be in your system.

I spoke to my clinic today and admitted that I had tested early. The Dr said that I should test tomorrow as planned and then do blood tests this week if positive. Am terrified it will all go to pot after the excitement yesterday.

Definitely not over, Closephine.

What day are you on Sali? Did you test again this morning or waiting until tomorrow?

Closephine, it must be so disheartening but hopefully you'll get answers.

I probably will give in and test a little early but not until well into next week.

I'm starting to think the cramping was trapped wind now Confused. I've never really had period pain so I'm not even sure what it should feel like.

Let us know how you get on with the testing Sali.

Hi guys! I read through your posted and am glad to hear im nit alone in this boat. I've been ttc for 2.5 yrs. I have no known issue and Monday were getting results from my husbands testing. Either way we're starting iui this month. Good luck all!

I tested yesterday morning with a cheap stick - negative. Then this morning when I was supposed to - negative. Obviously got upset. Am so angry with DP because he had a go at me and said that I shouldn't have tested Friday (ie. Before I was supposed to). He also kept saying there's no point crying - just go for the blood test tomorrow. As if it's that easy! It resulted In me screaming at him to remember how many hormones are in my body playing havoc right now. Don't think he totally gets it - his family are all very matter-of-fact and don't share emotions so this is all very new to him.

Just spoke to the clinic - she said that if it was negative today (official test date), that's almost certainly the case. Pregnancy started but then stopped. Effectively an early miscarriage, also known as a chemical pregnancy. Sad Really wish I hadn't tested early now as I've effectively been on an unnecessary roller coaster this weekend.

Dp has obviously been thinking and is now being really sweet. Smile

Oh no Sali, I'm gutted for you Flowers

I know the stats for IUI aren't as good as IVF so don't beat yourself up about it. Just try to enjoy Christmas (although all this is easier said than done)

Welcome Rifa. Are you doing a natural cycle or stimulated cycle?

Oh no Sali, when is AF due?! Did you use cheap sticks today? If so, there's still a chance. Don't give up hope just yet, if AF hasn't arrived yet, you're still in with a chance. X

Welcome Rifa and good luck without first cycle next week!

Af is due today and I feel pretty grotty. I tested with a First Step test that the clinic gave me. Not sure I trust it as much as a clear blue.

Welcome Rifa! Smile

Gonna do iui with clomid. Actually have been on clomid the last 3 months. Offically I don't have any problems ovulating by myself but never had a positive opk. Even with clomid. But doc said all testing came back okay so... we'll see what happens this month! Thanks for your wishes closephine

How are you doing Sali?

Did either of you feel spaced out at all whilst on the progesterone? I've felt a bit odd all afternoon and have a bit of a headache in my right temple. Bit odd so just wondering if it could be the progesterone

I got AF on Friday so I guess in around 2 weeks. Seeing my doctor tomorrow to hear results for my husband's testing and I guess we'll schedule everything then...

Feel awful. Angry and achy.

I had headaches with the progesterone, Closephine.

I'm sorry you're feeling like that Sali. It's a horrible thing to be going through.

Closephine I had only a very mild headache on one occasion. Other than that I've been having weird twinges quite low down in my abdomen for about 3 days and also odd twinges in my (now huge) boobs. They aren't painful though.

I feel like I do when af is imminent.

I'm actually quite glad that I'm working tomorrow. Just to take my mind off everything.

How are you doing Sali? Any news?

Hope your husbands results were ok Rifa

Headache has gone today so hopefully it was a one off.

FMF I also had some boob twinges and twinges in my stomach yesterday! Think this whole thing just makes us hyper vigilant to things we wouldn't normally notice/feel. Can't believe I'm only on day 5 post IUI, this 2ww is going to feel like an age! At least AF won't areoce on Christmas day for me like it did last year. That put a bit of a downer on things!

Report
Salimali15 · 21/12/2015 17:50

Still no AF and still having stomach pains. Been sat with a hot water bottle most of the day. But like you say, Closephine, I'm not sure if I'm being hypervigilant. My Mum suggested that today.

Hope you're all doing well today.

Do you usually have a lot of pain with af Sali or is this out of the ordinary for you?

I've been prodding my boobs all day and despite my best efforts they aren't sore. I'm pretty sure my cramps were due to constipation now as well as they completely cleared once I'd been to the loo.

This tww is a nightmare. At least with IVF you have a shorter wait before you test.

Did you have your blood tests Sali?

What I find hardest is the thought that you have to wait 2 whole weeks to find out whether your egg made it and got fetilised when if it didn't... It's all over within the first 24 hours after ovulation. I keep thinking about how the egg could actually be long gone!! I wish there was some way of knowing sooner

Hi there! Omg I'm not stopping to cry! My husband results were really not okay! Very poor sperm quality! So no iui for us! Doctor said we have to go straight to ivf. The more I think about this the more cry! I just found out my little sister is pregnant and that really hurts. Oh well. Hoping for better days then today. Good luck all!
