Someone might have hacked the Facebook page and created a fake Gofundme.

Presumably she's read some negative comments and belatedly understood the bad feeling.

I don't really have an opinion on it myself.

How could they write about "her husband"?? Maybe it was a scam all along. If it wasn't then they have somehow managed to doubly make things worse by a) starting the page b) initlly asking for an obscene amount of money c) making such a ridiculous mistake as not knowing the marital status

Maybe the unusual activity changing targets several times alerted go fund me and they've suspended the fund? Anything's possible. With this case it seems literally anything could be possible.

Emma's page could maybe have been hacked?

I don't see what's wrong with the gofundme. I assume her partner isn't in work at the moment, her wages won't be coming in. Maybe they want the money to hire private investigators considering they don't agree with the police says theory on the river.

It's weird that her friend called him her husband in the gofundme.

The issue is that the Gofundme page described him as "her husband" when he isn't. No one thinks its weird they aren't married. What is weird that someone purporting to put a gofundme page up thought that they were married.

There are lots of fakes and nutters out there who are jumping on a SM bandwagon and derailing efforts for their own kicks.

Be cautious and verify what you read and believe.

IMO stick to credible sources - as the energy whipped up in high profile cases attracts the back bedroom loons.

The last thing this family and investigation needs.

I hope they get some closure soon.

He didn’t say that, he said IF she’s in the river he WILL find her, his intention is to support the family, he has previously said he is puzzled as to why the area has not been designated a crime scene as this is a missing person investigation.

My husband isn't my husband but I call him that. We've been together 20 years.

Maybe they just say that to each other and her friend didn't use the correct term.

Or she's so in a muddle because her FRIEND IS MISSING that she wrote husband instead of partner.

Not everything has to have some deep meaning.

She was probably trying to help relieve the financial pressure but set the bar a bit high. Poor girl.

When the parents of a very famous missing child who vanished started raising money to fund private detectives etc it causes a lot of ill feeling.

In this case I think well meaning friends and family are worried for Nicola’s children and need extra resources to fund a private investigation and help with their care if needed.

The difference between a missing child and an adult is the possibility that Nicola has deliberately disappeared and therefore raising money may be distasteful to some.

Personally I do not believe she has gone off of her own free will.

Videos on FB show that gate to field leading to caravan site as only a few metres up from the gate behind the bench.

It is, and the gate to the other caravan park is in the top field where she was seen by another dog walker.

With regards to the fundraising campaign, neither of them appear to have zero hour contract jobs so I can't imagine any compassionate employer stopping wages after such a short time.

Not that it's any of my business but he seems to work as a 'consultant' through a limited company and she's a mortgage advisor who could well be paid in comission only.

Maybe you've got better information than that though - and it's not our business anyway.
