So this guy with the sonar machine has changed his view twice since yesterday, First he criticised the police and believed NB is not in the river. This morning he said she appears to be in the river. Then this evening he said his gut feeling is that she’s not in it.

What kind of expert is he?

Google and find out. They are a very big outfit. And from what I can see very expert at what they do.

looks like this morning he was repeating the police theory and supporting them.

he is saying both them and rhe police are baffled. No one can find her. Literally.

and they have nothing to go on, other than her stuff and the dog was left in a given location by a person unknown. They don’t even know for sure if it was her, or if she was ever at the bench.

Perhaps because he has worked only on drownings and this case isn’t one? If not drowning then there is nothing for him to do.

Someone on the Knott End page was saying the cyclist was lying on the road though so I guess there could be 2 incidents? Hope the cyclist is OK though.

Local Twitter is reporting a cyclist hit by a car on the bridge.

Not sure why that would require 9 emergency services vehicles though.

I remember someone posted on the first thread that they searched this stretch of river thoroughly once when their friend’s dog went missing with no trace at all. The dog wasn’t found until much later and quite a distance away. So this river isn’t as simple as it looks.

I don't think they're a very big outfit at all. I think this bloke likes bigging himself up though.

The North West Police unit which does the same job this company does and covers North Wales, Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire - so hundreds of miles of rivers and canals, all the lakes in the Lake District, North Wales etc., all the North West coastline - that's staffed by 12 men.
