Oh gosh, alot of police/emergency services there.

Her poor family and friends, I can't begin to imagine what they're going through, my heartbreaks for them

@ofwarren I can only guess the emergency vehicles were related to some other accidents in the area and have nothing to do with the missing person?..

The local Facebook group says the coastguard are there too but it's not unheard of for people to take their own life from the shard bridge or at least threaten to, which means the coastguard gets called.

There is footage on Twitter and there certainly are a lot of police cars there, so whatever is happening looks fairly serious. It may be completely unconnected to Nicola.

They've been there every night since prior to high tide. High tide is in a couple of hours so the water is flowing and it's a wide, shallow stretch there.

In situations like these, say the missing person comes forward and says that they just needed time to their self or wanted to disappear etc, would they get into trouble with the police for more or less wasting everyone’s time?

I’m not stating that this is the case here but when someone goes missing and it’s on the news, I always wonder what would happen if the person was found and was never in any type of danger. They just went off on their own free will

Please don't speculate on things like that unless confirmed by the police. Imagine that sentiment is all over Twitter and it's incorrect. Her family must be besides themselves.

@GoAgainstNicki people have MH issues where this can happen, I'd hope they wouldn't be reprimanded if it was a one off.

Funnily enough this week I was reading about Agatha Christie having vanished for 11 days and was then spotted in a hotel she said it was amnesia but people said it was to get back at her husband. I'd love it if it was just own free will here in this case. I'd not hold any judgements, I'm sure a community could breathe a sigh of relief too.
