Wow just watching the news now this is scary!

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2010 14:50

What radio station SPB? I was listenin to Metro Radio earlier, and they named the bloke who found the car, in full, and had an interview with him. Not the best thing to do I thought considering he is still on the loose.

muggglewump · 06/07/2010 15:41

I shouldn't laugh, it's really not funny at all but the way they are pronouncing Ponteland is making me chuckle.

When I was young we often visited my parents friends in Darras Hall.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2010 15:44

was real radio

apparently the area of interest is now morpeth

how are they pronouncing it?

Agree there is total madness going on. So many questions?? This happens way too often.

We're in the north east and poor ds2 (who's been off school poorly) caught the news and asked if we were near him? We're very south of there but you still worry as he could be anywhere. Just praying no-one else...apart from Moat...gets hurt. R.I.P to Chris Brown and also praying for full recovery for Sarah and P.C. Rathband.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2010 15:46

whereabouts are you curious - anywhere near me? (durham)

OP posts:
Curiousmama · 06/07/2010 15:47

Yes not far Darlington.

muggglewump · 06/07/2010 15:47

Something along the lines of Ponty-land, with the emphasis on the land.
I know, I'm going to hell, but it's funny.

Not the situation, obviously.

As I said yesterday, I grew up in the NE so still take an interest.

wubblybubbly · 06/07/2010 15:49

It does seem odd that the car was spotted there last night at around 9pm yet they remain so focused on the area.

He really could be anywhere by now.

Everything about this is , but who on earth is filming the 'as it happens' footage???

muggglewump · 06/07/2010 17:52

Yes!

There was live footage of them sneaking around in the woods.

Eh?

StainedGlass · 06/07/2010 17:57

I can't imagine my DCs in their primary school in our village with a nutter on the loose - locked in and i couldn't get to them .

However, does anyone else think all this publicity and footage is not helping? If he has access to a telly and is not holed up in a drafty barn he knows exactly where everyone is. Also, the police (with whom he has a vendetta) are opening every van on it's way in and out - i feel sorry for them - what a bloody hard job. BUT - WHY FILM IT?????

Are the journos hoping for him to pop out guns blazing?

juneybean · 06/07/2010 18:35

My bro was saying police officers have to go to work in plain clothes and get changed there in case he continues his vendetta against police officers.

giraffesCanDanceInTheSun · 06/07/2010 18:47

Why was that ex girlfriend on ITV news there smirking and smiling. "aaah its not him, hes not like this, he must have had his heart broken. There are loads of places to hide round here " WTF??!!

HinnyPet · 06/07/2010 19:45

It's worrying innit? I'm near Hexham.
We had an armed seige last week, the local paper was very excited, and this will send the HexhamCourant over the edge....

Saltire · 06/07/2010 20:26

I too am a bit amazed at the BBC helicopter hovering voerhead - it's getting very American like in it's new reporting. Also why did the Sun think it was ok to publish a picture of the shot policeman after he'd been shot,

Peckarolloveragain · 06/07/2010 20:48

My DH works at the hospital the ex is in and had to be escorted in and out in case he shows up there.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2010 20:49

How has he not been found by now??

OP posts:
edam · 06/07/2010 20:54

Saltire - apparently the policeman asked for the picture to be published to encourage anyone with info to come forward.

liath · 06/07/2010 20:58

I was at my grandparents yesterday (they live in Norham so not a million miles from Rothbury) and they told me they'd barely slept the night before from worry about this bloke, locked all the doors etc and I just laughed at them & said there was no way some lunatic from Newcastle would be hiding out in a quiet little Northumbrian hamlet.....

LaDiDaDi · 06/07/2010 20:59

Been watching Sky News/bbc most of the afternoon and sniggering at the pronunciations along with the rest of you. Hope they find him in Ulgham just to give us even more of a giggle (not really, nice people of Ulgham, wouldn't wish a gunman on you!)

Did you hear the woman on the radio who reported the car? Apparently her and her hubby saw it last night when they walked their dogs but didn't realise that it was the gunman's until this morning when she heard on the radio that police were looking for a black Lexus and she sent her husband along to check the reg! Imagine how she'd have felt if hubby met the gunman!

5inthebed · 06/07/2010 21:02

Ladidadi, or Cambois maybe?

If the car has been there since yesterday I doubt he is still there.
