I am nowhere near thankfully and sympathnies to those of you whoa re, hope he is caughht soon.

Not surprised this has happened though; knew someone whose ex DP was in priosn for trying to stab her, shortly after his release she was amde homeless nd told that the only palce she could move to was next foor to the man still htreatening her (she refused and ended up in a hostal with her kids). Seems once people are out of jail there is no system to keep decent tabs on how they treat tehir victims, or systems to enable vicxtims to be kept safe.

Another contact is in prison for sex trafiicking and has a history fo DV; he calls his wife regualrly and threatens her, no idea why she takes calls- fear I guess. After the first sentence addition any more offences run concurrently, so he can do as he wishes now without fear.

Silly system

That is horrific. It helps to make clear why his poor ex-partner told the lie that she was with a policeman, to try and make herself feel safer. It sounds as if that is the only thing that has brought this situation home to the police and forced them to take it seriously, for their own safety if not for hers.

a very good friend of dh's was one of the armed officers going into the abandoned farmhouse. oooh aaaaaar. I think he thrives on the adrenalin. Have to say though that he is one of the most relaxed and fun-loving person to be around when not dressed in black and carrying a large weapon.

hollyoaks · 07/07/2010 12:45

It says on the Sky News website that they've found his tent but it doesn't say where it is.

5inthebed · 07/07/2010 12:49

Wouldn't surprise me if it was in the back garden of the man who he gave the letter to. I just can't believe they've not found him yet! And it wouldn't surprise me if he had loads of his friends helping him hide either.

God this is making me feel ill, ill from worrying about a friend who is connected. It's just all crazy!

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2010 13:05

well they're now offering £10,000 for info leading to his capture

I could do with £10,000, pity I don't know anything

JulesJules · 07/07/2010 13:25

I could too, but all I know is how to pronounce Coquetdale

5inthebed · 07/07/2010 13:40

How is it pronounced? I don't even know

LaDiDaDi · 07/07/2010 14:05

Co-kit dale is how I'd say it.

hollyoaks · 07/07/2010 15:27

Co ket dale, there's definitely no cock in coquetdale.

sorky · 07/07/2010 15:44

We live not far from where the ex was shot and fella killed, I woke up to the sound of the helicopter early Sunday morning, mustve been this now I think about it.

I bought the Journal on Monday, as you do, and couldn't believe the girls family splashed all over 4 pages giving their stories/opinions.
Someones died, 2 people critically ill at the point of interview and theres the sister and granny posing for fucking pictures!!
Hardly mentioned the death of the young man with her
I'll be amazed if they aren't all over the NOTW on Sunday, the scutters.

Hope they catch him soon before anyone else gets hurt.

sorky · 07/07/2010 15:48

Ooh some of you live in Washington! Snap!

bossyboop · 07/07/2010 15:50

Just as well he didnt go to cowpen then (coopen)

hollyoaks · 07/07/2010 15:54

Bossy, thats what I said too , are you anywhere near Blyth?

bossyboop · 07/07/2010 15:56

Yes I am, live near the chippy he robbed at gunpoint

sorky · 07/07/2010 16:00

You reckon it was him?
I think the description could match any number of thugs!

bossyboop · 07/07/2010 16:01

apparently the police confirmed it on the news, there was cctv outside the shop

hollyoaks · 07/07/2010 16:14

Bloody hell, I bet that scared you . At least you've got that nice ice cream nearby if you dare venture out.

bossyboop · 07/07/2010 16:18

not much sleep put it that way, got to know about it within minutes of it happening as someone i know went in the shop just after it happened, the owner was on the phone to the police when they walked in for their supper so he must have just left, took all the notes out the till, then facebook was buzzin with the news, loads of police and police helicopter

hollyoaks · 07/07/2010 16:24

Your friend was lucky he missed him. Poor owner must have been terrified, what a random place to stop off on his way to Rothbury, if that's where he actually went.

LaDiDaDi · 07/07/2010 16:40

Loads of speculation around here that he's not at Rothbury at all and everything has been placed up there as a plant.

My mother and me have just been having a bit of a bitch about the state of Sue Sim's hair. I know that whilst at the centre of the country's biggest manhunt her hair probably isn't her biggest priority but I'm sure they have mirrors in Ponty Land!

hollyoaks · 07/07/2010 16:44

I found her eye shadow quite shocking too

LaDiDaDi · 07/07/2010 17:18

Yes, yes! Even dp is calling her "the stupid looking woman"! Still I suppose we won't care if they catch him [hopeful].

juneybean · 07/07/2010 17:24

Her name was making me amused
