Just seen a ticker on the BBC website saying that

Flossam,

Will you stop answering the taunts please ???

QueenOfQuotes · 23/07/2005 20:35

Flossam - you said practically the same thing yesterday! We're not all thick you know we can understand what you''re saying

OP posts:
Flossam · 23/07/2005 20:35

Of course it does Cha Cha. QoQ is being sarcastic.

scubawoman · 23/07/2005 20:36

Q0Q - yes I agree I would be VERY scared if I was walking down a deserted street, but not in London with all the police around if I had nothing to hide

ChaCha · 23/07/2005 20:36

Okay...i guess there was a specific reason for QoQ's post....I shall go back to lala land...

QueenOfQuotes · 23/07/2005 20:36

"I just said that I don't think I would feel as stongly about this if I didn't have to travel by tube. "

Thus saying that no-one else can feel as strongly as you if they're not 'there'!!

OP posts:
Flossam · 23/07/2005 20:36

MGR, yes after this one

What is that then QoQ? What am I saying?

WideWebWitch · 23/07/2005 20:37

All this backbiting is rather going off the point I feel.

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:37

No, QoQ, she's just saying that because she does have to travel by tube her feelings are stronger than if she didn't. Logical?

QueenOfQuotes · 23/07/2005 20:38

HAve to say she's not the only one who's basically said the same thing

"If you're not directly affected by it how dare you bother to comment on it and disagree with what we say"

P*sses me off

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 23/07/2005 20:38

If I have this right, Flossam is saying that she feels strongly about this because
a) she travels by tube
b) she is a nurse and saw some of the injured
fair enough but it doesn't mean other viewpoints aren't as valid or heartfelt.

soapbox · 23/07/2005 20:39

Flossam - I too travel by tube all the time in London and need to for work.

I don't think that this person's life was a price worth paying so that I can travel a bit more securely!

In fact I am considerabe less reassured than before that the police and security services are capable of protecting me TBH.

I am perfectly happy with any one who has a view to add it to the mass here. I'm sure if people don't travel on teh tube themselves, they can empathise with the feelings of those of us who do!

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:40

But she isn't saying other opinions aren't valid, is she? Have I missed something? She is just saying that because of where she is and what she does (and what her DP does) her feelings are stronger than they would be otherwise, not that anybody else's don't count?

Flossam · 23/07/2005 20:40

I haven't said that I thought that, either. Although I am beginning to question my own sanity by this stage.

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:41

Somebody show me where Flossam said that?

soapbox · 23/07/2005 20:41

But Janh is smacks of the my feelings are stonger - and therefore more right - than yours!!!!

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:42

It might smack of but that isn't what she means!!!

ChaCha · 23/07/2005 20:42

Yes Soapbox, i no longer live in London but travelled by tube daily when i did. Turnham Green to Holland Park to be precise as did my father, family members and friends. I think we are all affected/effected (can't think of right homophone) someway or another if we aren't actually involved.
At the end of they day we all have a common factor don't we...we're human beings for crying out loud....
A cry for humanity!

soapbox · 23/07/2005 20:43

But why mention it at all then????

I managed to last a long time without having to back up my point of view with a 'well I travel by tube'.

Its not relevant unless its a means of saying, therefore my view carries more weight than yours.

The if you travel by tube you'd think differently. Well I do and I don;t!!!

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:44

At 8.10 sophable posted

but that's what Ken said! This guy wouldn't be dead if there weren't suicide bombers! It is true!

ChaCha · 23/07/2005 20:45

Time out Ladies
Life is too short. We can all see that. Why not get back to the point. It's often hard to debate on here..messages can be misinterpreted, not like face to face discussion..
Peace!

Anyone?

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:46

And as www pointed out, this is a pointless diversion. But Flossam is justifiably feeling got at and she shouldn't be.

soapbox · 23/07/2005 20:46

I think that is a cop out Janh. Just 'cos Ken said it doesn;t suddenly make it right does it???

This man died because someone cocked up! If we but Ken's view then are we to say that anyone the police fancy killing over the next howeverlongittakes, is as a result of suicide bombers.

At least the met do seem to see that it is horrendous for this to have happened.

Janh · 23/07/2005 20:46

Agree, ChaCha. Hoping I have bored everybody into submission

QueenOfQuotes · 23/07/2005 20:46

Of course it smacks of that - here's what she said yesterday...........

"QoQ, you do not live in London. This is not an experience that you have directly gone through."
